Station House

There was a really bad smell of damp, mould and/or vomit on the ground floor that persisted our entire stay, despite our best attempts of spraying air freshener etc.

Some of the door latches were broken so doors wouldn't stay shut. The showers would flick from freezing to scalding. All in all a disappointing stay, considering the size of the house and destination were amazing.

A fantastic house overall, we loved the space, the zip lock bed layout is great, it’s clean and modern styling.

The kitchen is well equipped for a large group. Jaime is a communicative host and was kind with the checking in and out times. There is a damp / fishy/ doggy smell in the basement social areas that the owner is clearly aware of as plug in air fresheners are everywhere but it is very pungent and overwhelming to the point it did impact our enjoyment. Putting in black out blinds or curtains would be amazing as we stayed in mid June and it was pure daylight in each room at 4am! Thin white metal blinds are doing nothing! Also the bath in the ground floor bathroom is really annoying and again impacted our enjoyment. As three families of four staying we ended up drawing straws for who the ‘worst’ floor and we got it. Realistically whilst pretty to look at a roll top bath is ridiculous for guests and just means that we were slowed down getting ready waiting for a friend’s en-suite shower rooms to come free as the shower head on the bath would just spray everywhere and be tricky for a woman with long hair to wash her hair. Finally the dishwasher needs a full service - we ended up handwashing everything as despite trying it twice it just sprays the dirt off the plates all around and half bakes it on! Maybe a filter clean and new salt is due! However, we would recommend it’s a really nice house and the location is excellent. We walked over to North beach, enjoyed a beach day with our teen children and then walked back over to the main town area, hired a boat for a bit, went to the arcades had fish and chips and then back to the house - the kids loved the hot tub! Thank you, it was a lovely weekend.

This was a lovely townhouse in a good location for the railway station, spa area and museum.

The rooms are spacious and the lounge and dining area perfect for our gathering.

Lovely property renovated to a high standard, The water in showers is really hot or very cold- no in between, the sensory light at top of house, can be disturbing when trying to sleep while people are still Moving around in lower landing .

During the night you do get the through night noise if sleeping at front of house, can’t be helped though, nothing ear plugs & eye masks can’t sort. The house is spotless clean, Beds are the best I’ve ever slept in, Communication with owner was excellent Hot tub, dish washer and parking is a bonus Perfect central Location for everything really Great to find a property that could accommodate all 14 of our family together Thank you , very enjoyable stay

What an amazing house.

I booked this for my mums 80th birthday with the family , was 13 adults and 1 child . Plenty of space for everyone. The parking was great we managed to get 5 cars on the drive . The house was very clean and very well equipped. Jamie was very helpful. Will definitely recommend this house .

Really lovely home.

Big rooms where everyone had plenty of space. I loved that we could all sit together around the kitchen table to eat as well as all fit in the living room to watch tv. The beds were very comfy. It was noisy at the front with the traffic and the windows could do with some good black out blinds. There are lots of steps to the top bedrooms so you need to make sure everyone is mobile. Location was great for getting into town or down to South Beach. Jamie was very helpful and responsive. I would definitely recommend.

Very handy for Flamingo Land and close to all the things to do in scarborough.

House had everything we needed and more. Very clean and very comfortable beds. Could maybe do with room number or something on the bedroom doors to set them apart a bit - with so many floors was easy to get confused and walk into someone else’s room

Very spacious house so perfect for large groups.

Lovely and clean throughout. Well equipped kitchen, and plenty of hot water. Large bedrooms so lots of space for couples. Private parking to the rear of the house easily fitted our 9 motorcycles within the gated area. Location is perfect for a stroll into town. Sainsbury's very close and also Tesco, not to mention Wetherspoons and the best Indian Restaurant we have ever found called The Taj. Private area should you want to relax in the hot tub and plenty of seating in the lounge. We were surprised by a very generous complimentary basket of goodies when we arrived. A really well thought out property, a credit to the owner.

Overall the holiday was great.

We had a fun time spending the weekend together. Unfortunately, there were a few things which lessoned the quality of our stay. We were disappointed in the way we could get into the house from the car park. The listing said we could fit 5 cars but then you struggle to walk past at that point. Especially with luggage etc… We could not use the hot tub for the duration of our stay as it was broken. No matter how many times we read the guide and followed the steps it could not be repaired. The hot tub was a main selling point for us and we mainly booked this property over others because of that feature. Regrettably, without this we do not believe the fee for the stay was reasonable. One of the biggest issues we had was when we went the strip the beds at the end of our stay as instructed. The amount of beds containing large blood stains and other questionable colours was alarming. It was horrendous and really put a damper on the entire weekend. Overall, we were disappointed in our stay and regrettably would not book again or recommend.

Station House is within a short walking distance to shops, pubs, supermarkets, bus stops and the train station.

It is a 15/20 minute walk to South Bay. The house was clean, beds very comfortable and the welcome pack was great. Everything you need for a holiday is in the house the only improvements that could be made are coat hooks are needed on the lower floor. An extra fridge rather than an extra freezer. A washing up bowl is needed! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend booking Station House, we would book again.

The house itself was lovely, very comfortable & had everything we needed & we received a lovely hamper.

If I had to have a moan it would be the beds. I'm glad I didn't look at the mattress & the so called protector before I slept in it or I wouldn't have slept in it at all. New mattresses & it would be brilliant.

Loved our stay here in August.

The house is amazing, stayed with 10 adults 4 kids and 2 toddlers, bedrooms are very spacious, kitchen/dining room great for family meals and game nights. Living room was lovely and cosy for family movie nights. Lots to do and see nearby. Short walk from shops/pub. The owner was very thoughtful and left us a welcome hamper which was enjoyed by all, he was also very friendly and accommodating when contacted about arrival instructions and bed lay out. Would highly recommend this house to family and friends and hope to stay again in the future.

This is a lovely house, modern, clean and spacious. Bedrooms are large and beds comfortable. Warm and cosy, the ideal get away with family or friends. Great location close to shops and beach front. No bedrooms on the ground floor so best to keep in mind if travelling with anyone with mobility problems. Bedrooms over 3 floors. Would highly recommend.

The property was lovely!

The beds were the most comfortable we had slept in! It was great to have control of the heating and the hot tub was a big hit! An extra set of keys would have been useful and we were disappointed not to be able to recycle but overall we were very happy with the property.

Great place, I absolutely loved it Just may need coat hangers as nowhere to put them .

When wet as well. Need mats in all showers and the bath as very slippy without, especially when they have people with disabilities. The stools by the middle sink need a good wash clean as lots of stains. Also new trays for cooking needed and frying pans. Just a few thing that could help make it better that's all. But overall we all loved the place Thank you and thank you for the lovely hamper.

It was very comprehensive. The house was lovely and we enjoyed looking at the photographs of the refurbishment. Everyone said their beds were comfy. Location was very central. the bedrooms on the front of the house being on the main road, were noisy compared to the back. Earplugs had to be purchased for the second night as it was warm and we needed the windows open which didn’t help. The other thing that affected sleep quality was just having blinds and no curtains meant there was a lot of light. Luckily I had taken my eye mask. Perhaps this is something you could provide? The kitchen was well stocked with plenty cups, glasses, plates etc. Our group tended to congregate in the kitchen dining area - I imagine other holidaymakers did too as the barstools and seatpads on the dining chairs were really grubby and stained. They really let the house down. Bathrooms were clean and towels aplenty and nice quality. One observation was the bath tub could do with a grab rail and a non slip mat. Final observation is having only one set of keys and no doorbell proved problematic at times! Overall we had a really good time and the hot tub was a nice touch.

The house was amazing and well equipped.

It catered for all and we were a party of 12 ranging from 3yrs to 71. The only thing we would recommend is curtains in the bedrooms as the light woke the young ones up otherwise perfect. Would recommend to others.

We had a lovely week at Station House.

This was our second stay there as a family (8 adults, 5 children), and if anything was even better than last year’s. The house is tastefully decorated, well equipped with everything you could need, and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are spacious and bright, the beds comfortable, there’s plenty of room for 14 people to eat together and to socialise in the evening, and the little games area with beanbags by the stairs was particularly well-used by the boys! Nice to have the hot tub as well. It’s so handy for the SJT and the station, within a decent walking distance of both shores and the town centre, and there are three large supermarkets close by. All in all a perfect base for a Scarborough break. We had good communication from the owner, Jaime, and knew that any problem would have been quickly sorted. We also appreciated the generous welcome pack. Perhaps we should be thinking about next year…..?!

A beautiful property, well considered, spacious, great location and parking, would come back again for sure! The welcome hamper was a great touch too! 9/10 Helpful points below: Shower in one of the bedrooms only ran boiling hot water (broken knob?), which was a bit of a problem. The mattresses for the cots were too thin to let our babies sleep on them for the night, so we had to go out and buy a mattress each - which was unnecessary as we had travel mattresses at home, if only we knew. A few black bin bags would have been handy. Something to differentiate between the 3rd and 4th floor, I kept walking into a friends room, yet I was the floor above. The rooms could have done with curtains to keep the light out, but I’m a light sleeper and things like this wake me up.

Absolutely perfect for 11 of plus a birthday party exactly like the photos could not fault it ,the only niggle was no where to hang 11 plus coats downstairs tough if you forgot yours and had to go 47 stairs plus,all in all perfect for beach entertainment and much more

Plenty of mugs though which was nice. The extra freezer could be a fridge freezer, food for 14 is difficult to fit in one fridge. Welcome hamper is a nice touch and the cleanliness of the place was second to none. Ideal location, thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely property within walking distance to everything.

A well equipped, beautifully presented house with plenty of space. There were 10 adults in our party and it never felt overcrowded or cramped.

The welcome hamper was great & the best I’ve ever had at any property before. For anyone with mobility issues there are a lot of stairs & some non slip rubber mats for the showers & bath would be helpful

Overall it was a pleasure staying at station house facilities/area/comfortable the only thing I would say is it needs painting as some walls marked etc to give it back the WOW factor!

It needs an extra fridge - a separate dryer as the current washer dryer is rubbish! Lastly the locked gate needs sorting not ideal when locking as not correctly fitted lock I broke my nail one day which wasn’t a good experience and te men folk struggled as was very difficult All in all we want to book again hopefully Thankyou I had a cracking birthday holiday Nicola Crisp

The house is amazing, ideal for the whole family.

It was very clean and very well stocked with towels, hand soap, all kitchen facilities together with a lovely food hamper on arrival. Location is great with only a 15min walk to the front and most activities/attractions are walking distance. The only negative, the hot tub area, the description of outside furniture. The furniture consisted of 4 metal chairs with a plastic seat - not really in keeping with the rest of the house. We had a brilliant holiday, thank you

Really clean. Comfortable beds ! Kitchen facilities great. Loved the hot tub. Really good location. Only a few minutes walk to the town and supermarkets. 10 mins to the beach and opposite the train station !. I would highly recommend this property for a large group. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay again.

12 of us spent 3 nights at Station House celebrating my dad's 70th birthday, the youngest being 5 years old.

The house was perfect for our needs. Well laid out, plenty of space, very clean, kitchen very well equipped, best hamper we have ever received at a holiday house (and we have visited a few!). Jaime (the owner) was very accommodating and responded quickly and with good grace to all of our enquiries. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. One of the party commented that he felt like he was in a hotel with his bedroom and ensuite being so lovely. Would definitely recommend and would also love to return. Thank you Jaime.

The property was good, the space was just right for our party of 13 and exactly what we expected from the pictures viewed, the welcome basket was a lovely idea.

The property was close and in walking distance of the town, it was warm and all rooms apart from the loft had a tv. Parking at the back was perfect and easily accessed. The property was clean and tidy and did have more kitchen facilities provided for washing, cooking and cleaning up than anticipated. The Wifi was a good connection. The only issue we had was that we didn’t use the hot tub, the jets wouldn’t turn on and the loft room didn’t have a mirror to get reading in but mirrors were available in all the others so it wasn’t really an issue.

Fantastic place, Jamie was very helpful, would highly recommend everytime.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean, fantastic touch a welcome basket, wow had loads of goodies and necessities in it. Even rubber gloves under the sink, I mean brilliant idea. will definitely be rebooking!!! Thank you for such a fab weekend and made to feel at home!

The quality and number of towels provided for use exceeded all our expectations. It is a very comfortable property especially for the 10 adults as we were.

A nice and well maintained, clean house.

We just had 2 reasons to contacted the owner and problems were resolved quickly. (Refuse Bin filled to capacity and a problem with the Hot Tub) The welcome hamper was a thoughtful addiction. For a family of 3 generations, 13 in total every body enjoyed their holiday.

Great sized rooms, comfy beds, basement level ideal! 2 negatives with the house were: Could do with an additional fridge to cater for the number of people the house accommodates Blinds in bedrooms not ideal!!

We have just returned from a week in Station House.

We were so impressed with the cleanliness and with the provision of all essential materials to keep us safe re covid. A welcome hamper was a lovely suprise as were the plentiful carex handwashes in all bathrooms. The hot tub was amazing and the luxury of the house stunning. We were two big families and the house worked so well for us. Would recommend highly.

The station house is above expectations Decorated to high leave, it was beautiful there was 5 couples it was mine n my friends birthday and we had a fabulous weekend, we will be back, the little finish touch did it too a lovely hamper for when we arrived very nice x

Our group had a fantastic stay and the welcome basket was a wonderful touch. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was so spacious and decorated and furnished to a very high standard.

The hot tub was a great addition and the Xbox area under the stairs was also an extra that makes life a little easier with older children. Great location and plenty of parking. We were a family of 11 including grandparents, teenagers and an infant and it was perfect. The only thing we thought could be improved were a few kitchen items (better knives, tin opener and colander) but this was probably because we ate in a lot due to such comfortable surroundings. 10 out of 10 and would definitely return.

We absolutely loved the house!

Great layout, great location and comfy! Not much room in the fridge with everything for Xmas, ideally the second freezer could have been a second fridge. Could have also done with a masher and some sharper knives for prepping veg, etc, they were quite difficult to use. Probably only noticed so much with it being a lot of Christmas prep. A balloon, a birthday card and an empty pesent box were found behind two pieces of furniture in the play area and lounge so cleaner could be a little more thorough but clean otherwise and appreciate it's a big house to get through! The tree/decorations/hamper were a lovely touch, would definitely recommend! Thank you for allowing us to make some special memories in your beautiful home

We had a family gathering and had an absolutely fantastic time!

Such a relaxing and lovely place really appreciated the welcome basket and the rooms being so well presented. The kids enjoyed the "X-box under the stairs" which resulted in Harry Potter jokes whilst the adults enjoyed relaxing in the hot-tub, we all enjoyed watching movies on the large sofa's and silly games and meals around the big table. And great bedrooms with lots of space to have quiet time to yourself too.. ... wonderful ! We will be back again.

As a group, we thou rally loved the holiday home and felt it offered everything that we wanted.

The hot tub was a huge bonus and was great to relax and have fun.

This house was perfect!

It has a modern interior with huge bedrooms that had everything you needed (hairdryers,tv, irons etc) beautiful white ensuite shower rooms or a spacious bathroom with a roll top bath. We were left all the basics needed for our trip ie cleaning products, hand wash, dishwasher tablets etc even washing tablets for the washing machine! We also had a surprise hamper left for us full of basics like tea, coffee, cereal and goodies

Station house has everything to offer, kitchen well equipped, cant fault the way house has been furnished, decorated, attention to detail with Carex in the bathrooms, near town centre, not too far from the beach had a brilliant week with the family.

Would definitely stay again end recommend others to do so

My family and I have just spent a week at station house.

.. it was absolutely amazing... this was the first time we have ever slept all understand the 1 roof... the house is absolutely perfect.. we all sat round the kitchen table during the day and all snuggled in the massive livingroom to watch a movie at night... you instantly feel so at home as soon as you walk through the door...would 100% recommended this house... it's also walking distance to both north and south bay.. we had great fun while in Scarborough... its going to be very hard to top this house next year...
