“Warm, welcoming and comfortable in spite of all that the February weather could bring!”

A lovely farm cottage, the house had everything we needed in a tranquil setting and we got the best night's sleep. No phone signal at the cottage, but good WiFi. Close to Malton and the A64, we could get places quickly. Great house, we will be back.

“We very much enjoyed our stay over Christmas at this comfortable and spacious accommodation.”

The kitchen is well equipped and generous in size, the lounge has 2 large sofas, and was a great space for entertaining our family in. The farm track to approach the cottage is pretty decent and although inside the cottage is very quiet you don't feel cut off from the rest of the world. It is a quick and easy drive into Malton, where there are many amenities. The cottage is at the heart of a working livestock farm so you sometimes hear and smell pigs, cows and dogs when outdoors. Charlotte is lovely and makes you very welcome. We would not hesitate to stay there again should we need to be in that area. FYI there is a proper fridge freezer, but you need to bring your own hair dryer.

“Had a lovely stay at Bellmanear.”

The cottage was warm and cosy with lots of space. Just what we needed to relax. The beds were super comfortable. It is a very good centre for travelling around the coast and North Yorkshire. The owners were very welcoming. A few more knives and forks would make it perfect.

“A cosy, warm cottage in a peaceful rural setting.”

Comfortable beds, hot shower and efficient dishwasher and washing machine. Lots of wildlife in the fields and plenty of cats around the farm. The cottage is a great base for exploring the local villages and coast. Josh and Charlotte are welcoming hosts and are working hard to make a success of the farm and holiday-let.

The cottage was comfortable, spacious and relaxing. Although we didn’t have time to take a look around it was interesting being on a working farm.

“We stayed at the Bellmanear Farm Cottage for 4 nights in August and in comparison to other properties through Sykes this was not of the same standard.”

Pros: The property setting is great. The beds are comfortable. Cons: The kitchen didn't appear to be very clean - sticky finger prints over front of microwave and fridge and a mouldy jug on the window sill. The previous occupants dirty kitchen sponge left on the sink. The toilet seat was broken. Rusty potato peeler in kitchen draw. No hair dryer. No welcome gift on arrival - usually supplied in all Sykes.

MALTON

York 18 miles; Scarborough 24 miles.

The market town of Malton has been the historic centre of Ryedale since Roman times, and has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly general market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers’ markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent countryside for walkers and cyclists. The impressive coastline is just 24 miles away, whilst the historic city of York is an 18 mile journey. A perfect base for touring the attractions of North Yorkshire.
