“This is the most delightful cottage in the perfect setting in Staithes, overlooking the harbour.”

It had everything we needed and is well furnished and clean with a very comfortable bed in the main bedroom - there were only two of us staying. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The living/dining area is spacious and with wonderful views. Likewise, of the three bedrooms, the main bedroom is spacious whilst the other two are quite small but all have good hanging space. Our stay was at the end of September when it was getting a bit chilly and the central heating worked well and kept the cottage at the perfect temperature. With two good pubs nearby as well as shops to provide most needs for the week this cottage and Staithes itself is definitely to be recommended.

GROUND FLOOR This is a charming cottage with lovely light and airy decor and stunning views of the sea, beach and harbour. It has a wonderful large, open plan living area with beamed ceilings and great views. This living space includes a sitting room with comfortable seating and a Smart TV/DVD - access your Netflix account and catch up on movies!

- or to simply sit, relax and read - after all, isn't that what holidays are all about? There is a dining area with a table and chairs to comfortably seat five; it's an ideal spot to enjoy meals together, whether that's breakfast as the day begins or dinner after a day's sightseeing - or to simply treat yourself to a sumptuous afternoon tea after sunbathing on the beach! The immaculate kitchen has an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave plus there's a separate utility room with a washing machine/dryer and freezer. A useful cloaks/WC is located on the ground floor too. FIRST FLOOR Again with fabulous sea views, the master bedroom has a king size bed - where better to enjoy breakfast in bed?

- an occasional chair, full length mirror and wardrobe with good storage space. The twin bedroom also has lovely views of the beach and out to sea - how delightful to wake up to a glorious sunrise across the bay - with two full size 3' single beds and a wardrobe. The third bedroom is really cute with a pretty day bed and wardrobe. The stylish house bathroom is a good size and has a bath, a shower over, WC and hand wash basin. About the location

STAITHES

Whitby 10 miles.

The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.

Free Wi-Fi Parking permit provided; you can park near the cottage to unload luggage then park at the Pay & Display car park which is c. 800 yards away. Welcome hamper on arrival
