“We loved this cottage, ideally situated in Stillington village.”
A two-minute walk to either of the two pubs, both of which were friendly to us all, including our dog Molly. The cottage was very well provisioned with every utensil you could need. The internet service was a bit patchy to start with, but our hosts, Lara and Ed, were straight on it and got it fixed super quick. We experienced a break in our water supply due to Yorkshire Water turning it off. Not our host's fault, but again they were on it, giving all the info we needed and even offering to bring us bottled water, excellent support from them. There are plenty of walks within the local area, again our hosts provided all the info, maps and details. The area is serviced by a Community Store, in which supplies are limited but they do have the essentials. We ate food in the Bay Tree, it was excellent, and the staff and locals were very friendly, good beers too! Definitely, we would recommend this cottage as a great place to be. Thank you, Lara and Ed.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and that it was the perfect base for exploring Stillington and the surrounding area.
We’re especially pleased that Molly was made to feel welcome too — we know how important it is for guests to be able to enjoy a relaxing break with their four-legged companions. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the local pubs, walks, and the warm welcome from the village.
We really appreciate your kind words about the cottage and the support we provided during your stay. While some things (like the water supply issue) are outside our control, we always want our guests to feel looked after and kept informed, so we’re glad we could help.
Thank you again for recommending the cottage. It was a pleasure hosting you all, and we’d love to welcome you back to Stillington again in the future.
Best wishes,
Lara and Ed
