“Just come back from a weeks stay at shire cottage.”

The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable, the cottage was in a good location and not too far from attractions. We shall be booking another stay at this cottage in the future and would certainly recommend it.

Nestled in Ulrome near the lovely village of Skipsea, East Riding of Yorkshire discover this pretty two-bedroom cottage, Shire Cottage.

Benefitting from all ground-floor living, a private decking area and originally features and exposed beams, Shire Cottage welcomes four guests to relish the ultimate escape to the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Upon entering your new home-from-home, sink back and relax on the homely sofas clicking on the TV to enjoy some light entertainment as your other half whips up a home-cooked meal in the well-equipped kitchen.

Settle down at the dining table, ready to tuck in as the conversation flows and wine is poured, toasting to a wonderful holiday as you plan for the days ahead.

If you prefer to dine alfresco, step out onto the private decking area and bask in your surroundings a little while longer.

If you’re seeking some much-need R&R, treat yourself to a long, indulgent soak in the tub or a revitalising shower, prior to escaping to either a double or twin bedroom to rest up.

Begin your itinerary at Skipsea Castle before sampling some tasty grub and a cold tipple at the Board Inn; further along the coastline discover Barmston Beach and Sewerby Beach, two idyllic spots to relax upon the sandy trails, soak up the sun’s rays and paddle the shores, or head to Bridlington, home to The Bayle Museum, Bridlington Harbour and Bridlington Sea Front.

Alternatively, spend the day touring the grand Georgian house at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, play a round or two at Bridlington Links Golf Course, visit New Flamborough Lighthouse or make the most of an impressive array of walking trails that can be found from your doorstep.

Within accessible reach of the popular seaside towns of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby, as well as the North York Moors National Park with much to offer, there is plenty to fill your days here.

Escape to Yorkshire, with a memorable getaway to Shire Cottage.

Situated 10 miles south of Bridlington and 6 miles north of Hornsea, the vlllage of Skipsea sits in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet also rests within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea.
