“Not happy with our stay at all, the property didnt feel overly clean, seems like its been given a a quick tidy and clean but needs a deep clean to remove the thick layers of dust around the living room especially (we have photos).”
The house stinks every morning, smells damp and musty and there is a regular stench of sewage intermittently floating through the property.
The sofa in the living room is awful, it's tatty and the covers are hanging off, I tried to straighten up the covers but stopped when I put my hand down the side of one and felt all the crumbs and dirt that was down there, absaloutely gross. The sofa also seems to have had a makeshift repair and there is a piece of wood underneath the seats, it doesnt even fit properly and sticks out, one of our guests really hurt the back of her leg when she sat down, its dangerous.
The living room chairs were covered in white dog hair, we get the house is dog friendly but it didnt appear any effort was made to remove the hair the previous dog had left behind, never experienced this previously in any other dog friendly accommodation and was sick of trying to get dog hair off our clothes.
Outside furniture is very tatty and tired and the yard needs a good sweep. There is also a very rusty manhole cover outside there that is flaking apart and seems quite dangerous, if someone stands on that and it breaks they are going to get really hurt.
Bedrooms were ok, the sheets were clean but when we stripped the beds before we left the mattresses were covered in stains, one was even still damp underneath with a big yellow stain. Some of the bedroom door handles were hanging off, was worried they might fall off and someone get trapped in a bedroom. There is a large crack in the wall in the wardrobe in the lower front bedroom, not a major issue for us however just added to the overall feel of a poorly maintained property. The lower rear bedroom beds are metal frames which are loose and need tightening up, they rattle and wobble with every tiny movement and our guests struggled to get a good rest due to the rattling about all night.
Kitchen was clean and tidy however the freezer cupboard door is broken and there is a metal grate at the bottom of the kitchen units that is rusty, it flakes rust all over the floor.
Alot of these issues are fairly easy and inexpensive to resolve so its unclear why they havent been, it seems a really poorly maintained property that needs a proper deep clean. We are mortified at the price we have payed to stay here it was ridiculously expensive for what it is and put a downer on a family holiday we were all really looking forward to. We had to spend more time inside than we hoped due to the heatwave but who wants to be stuck in a stinky dirty house.
On the plus side the location is brilliant but absaloutely would not reccomend anyone stay here in its current state as you will be sorely dissapointed and might even get hurt due to some of the issues above. Awful and a rip off
