“The property is a fine building with some excellent rooms and furnishings with a good location for the town and off street parking - very useful in Whitby!”

The property owners need to employ a handyman! Almost everything needs maintenance which it clearly doesn't get such as: Creaking doors - I WD-40'd two of them - many of which don't shut properly. Plumbing issues such as the bath on the first floor needs plunging and the hot tap is loose; the shower on the same floor needs a new hose. The cloakroom basin on the ground floor leaks. Plumbing issues such as the bath on the first floor needs plunging and the hot tap is loose; the shower on the same floor needs a new hose. The cloakroom basin on the ground floor leaks. The bags for putting used linen in were nowhere to be found. A broom would be useful. We had to cut back the rose bush in the drive! We bought new kitchen scissors and a clothes horse for drying beach clothes etc. So whilst the facilities are very good someone needs to spend 10am to 3pm on Saturday doing a bit more!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We employ a laundry and cleaning company and a local manager to oversee all maintenance and cleaning at the property. We have passed on all your comments to our local manager to check and action where necessary. We provide the manager’s emergency and non-emergency contact details at the property and ask guests to contact her to report any maintenance issues they encounter during their stay. We certainly do not expect guests to be carrying out maintenance work or purchasing items for the house. We also employ a local gardener who visits the property on a regular basis and again would not expect guests to be carrying out gardening during their stay, but instead to contact our local manager to report any concerns.Thank you.
