Tucked away in the seaside town of Whitby in North Yorkshire, lies this traditional circa 1750 Georgian fisherman's cottage.
Storm Cottage, a Grade II listed building, boasts a fantastic location with views from the top bedroom of the sea and the harbour.
Within the North York Moors National Park and only a stone’s throw from the sandy trails of the beach, Storm Cottage is a great base for couples, families, or friends to enjoy a coastal getaway.
Ascend the quaint cobbled path, you will notice the private patio area where you can enjoy a refreshing drink after a day of exploring.
As you enter inside, discover the country style kitchen equipped with all the essentials for a self-catered stay; enjoy mealtimes around the large dining table, or out in the private garden.
After dinner, kick back and relax on the sofa as you catch up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV.
Continue through to the ground-floor bathroom, where you can have a soak in the tub, before retiring to one of three spacious bedrooms, two doubles or a lower-ground floor family room (three singles).
Head down the path into town where you will find the harbour and an abundance of restaurants, pubs, and shops, as well as a magnificent beach where you can swim, surf or paddle board the days away.
Continue to Robin Hood’s Bay and admire the National Trust site of The Old Coastguard Station, immerse yourself in the local history at Whitby Museum or tour the grounds of Whitby Abbey.
Further afield, be sure to take a day trip to Pickering where Pickering Castle and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway await; or get up close and personal with marine life at the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough, home to award-winning sandy beaches, breathtaking coastlines, and a great variety of family attractions.

The property was beautiful, well equipped and in a great location.
My only gripe is that we paid £683 but the property was not clean. We couldn't access the cottage until 3pm under the pretence that housekeepers would be in. I paid £13.40 for a days worth of parking because I couldn't access the scratch pass until 3pm. When we got into the property, the beds were made with fresh towels laid out. It looked amazing. When we actually started living it we found cobwebs in the sink, old hair ties with matted hair on in the bathroom. Thick dust under the bathroom sink, and the kids found an old pair of kids underpants in their bedroom! It seems we could have accessed the property hours earlier. The cobwebs and guest book suggested the property is largely disused. I feel it is overpriced or would certainly be used more as it's a wonderful property from 1750.
The cottage was absolutely amazing.
We loved our stay, and would come back again in a heartbeat! My only minor gripe is that there are no recycling facilities! We recycle a lot more than we throw away, and so we only filled one orange bag with waste in the whole week, but took two bin bags worth of recycling back home with us. Perhaps this could be a looked into? That aside, it was a fantastic base for a brilliant week in Whitby, and we even managed to find it reasonably easily.

Please be aware this is a very quirky old cottage, due to the quirkiness of the cottage, it is not suitable for people who have mobility issues- due to steep steps up to the property and steep steps inside
