A comfortable and welcoming apartment Lovely views, great location and a well equipped kitchen.

Lift was appreciated! A few minor things to mention: Thick foam topper on double bed a bit too thick, especially for summer. Parking is tight for larger cars. There was a persistent whine coming from the cupboard in the hallway, presumably from the hot water system, not sure if this was usual/normal.

This was our second stay at Abbey View and we just love this apartment.

..it has great views of the Abbey...spotlessly clean and well kitted out...very comfortable...well situated to get into the town or the beaches...it is brilliant having a car parking space, especially in Whitby...wonderful welcome pack...we will return again next year.

Absolutely loved the apartment, stunning view of the Abbey, very well equipped and beautiful presented, Beds very comfortable, couldn’t fault the property, great secure parking and only a 5 minute walk into town.

We were so happy that we found Abbey View Apartment, a well maintained property in a great location just a short walk away from all the main attractions.

The secure parking is a great asset and the overall feel and appearance of the main building and cleanliness of communal areas is exceptional. The apartment itself is well maintained, warm and cosy with everything you could need. Although just a small thing a digital bedside clock in the bedrooms would be a great asset for the times you wake and wonder what time it is. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely look to stay again at this property.

A very quiet, comfortable and clean apartment.

We cooked a couple of meals there and everything we needed to do that was provided, including good quality kitchen equipment. The location is excellent, being so handy for the town centre but the apartment itself is very cosy and quiet. The parking space is a definite plus. We hope to return in the future.

We returned to this apt after last visiting in 2018 (our guest book entry is near the front of the book).

It was just as we remembered - as comfy with the ability to sit and stare out of the window at the view! Love the place, the location, the ease of using public transport, and are returning next year for our anniversary week.

This was our first time at Abbey View but it will not be our last.

Lovely apartment...very comfy and spacious...very well kitted out and spotlessly clean...GREAT VIEWS...really great position but the jewel in the crown is the parking space. Lovely clean and comfortable flat with everything you could need for your stay.

The view across to the Abbey is fantastic and you can see the sea between the houses. Enjoyed our morning and evening walks along West Cliff and the harbour. Plenty to see and do locally and York is only an hour away. Definitely on our list of properties to visit again.

Wonderful view across to the Abbey. Parking space a real bonus and bus stops are directly outside for the yellow town tour bus or out towards Sandsend and beyond. Lovely welcome pack also much appreciated on arrival! Thank you

Had a fantastic time staying in the apartment and will be coming back for sure.

Never been to a more fully equipped and comfortable apartment. We both loved it. 5 items it would be worth the owners looking at: 1. The towel rail in the bathroom is defective/ does not work 2. The ceiling vent in the kitchen is blocked solid with dirt/dust 3. The shower water pressure is extremely low given the pressure at the taps. We cleaned the head ourselves which did improve it. I suspect that the flexible hose is blocked internally and needs replacing. 4. The TV/Router initially locked up every now and then. I preformed a manual software update on the Bush TV which seemed to fix this. Worth monitoring 5. The internet connection is painfully slow, both up and downstream. I am sure this could be upgraded with minimal cost. The speeds are dog slow even for an old technology copper solution Although the above sounds like complaints, this is NOT the case, just constructive feedback as we felt the apartment is so good, its well worth feeding the above back as if these items were addressed it which would make it even better.

This apartment is a jewel in Whitby.

It's situated a 5 min walk to The Whale Bones. Bonus having a car parking space too. The open top bus stops right outside which is also fab. Couple of little things, there is no full length mirror and the bathroom could do with a shelf to pop toiletries on apart from that its amazing and the view of the Abbey is stunning.

Car parking a massive plus, location ideal, no complaints whatsoever from us, we simply made wonderful Whitby memories and had your fabulous apartment to return to at the end of each day!

This was our second visit to this apartment and once again enjoyed our stay.

The apartment is in a great position and is well kept. The apartment building is spotless and well maintained. We will be back. You can publish the above text but just for your information only. You are aware of the main bedroom light switch being broken and the bathroom towle rail not working. We only used the toaster and kettle but the main oven is filthy inside and in need of a good clean if not a professional one.

It has everything you need, and more. Lovely view of the Abbey from the living room patio doors. Would love to return. Our only hesitation would be that, for us, the mattress on the double bed was far too soft, but for others we know that probably wouldn't be an issue.

The whole building is immaculate, gated car parking if required, super comfy beds, everything you need for self catering. Spectacular view of the Abbey. It’s quite a hilly walk to & from the town centre but as my sister & I love walking there wasn’t a problem Perfect. Highly recommend

Fabulous apartment with good view of the Abbey, and some of the sea when it’s not misty, haha.

All in all, one of the best places we’ve stayed in, the lift and secure car parking a bonus, plus it was nice and quiet. Few minutes walk into the town, great location. Could do with a couple of coat hooks near the front door, an anti-slip mat for the bath/shower and toilet roll holder on the wall.

Brilliant location, well maintained and equipped accommodation.

Only comment was that the two sofas in living area were low down making it difficult to get out of. Large bed in main bedroom very comfortable.

Everything we needed for our stay. Perfectly located. Bus stop out the front enabled us to travel to Saltburn-By-The-Sea, Staithes & Runswick Bay. To explore and do coastal walks. View of the Abbey a real treat.

Secure parking a plus, can see car from the window. Good views across to the Abbey from the sofa and kitchen table. Very clean and comfortable apartment in a nice and well maintained building. Very generous welcome pack provided. Cannot fault a thing.

Booking the holiday was straightforward and easy to do.

The communication about key collection and parking was excellent. On entering the apartment it felt warm and comfortable, it was well equipped and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and so nice to have a bath and not just a shower. The welcome pack was delightful. A credit to the owners.

We had a fabulous few days at Abbey View; we were lucky enough to have glorious weather.

The apartment was great - clean, spacious and well equipped, with a superb view of the abbey. Location was perfect, and a pleasant walk downhill into town. Coming back up seemed longer and harder! The only slight disappointment was that the online reviews and the guest book in the apartment all said thank you for the welcome hamper - we didn’t have a welcome hamper! But that’s a small thing really. I would recommend to family and friends, and would certainly want to stay here again. PS the apartment came with a secure parking space included which was brilliant as it can be difficult to find places to park in Whitby

Fantastic views, fab location and a lovely apartment.

Welcome gift was very thoughtful. Would definitely recommend. Great guest information. Feel one sofa needs replacing and beds not that comfortable, especially the single beds. Would have liked a smart TV and struggled a bit that it wasn’t. A TV in the main bedroom would have been nice and a shelf in the bathroom as there was no where to put toiletries. Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation and would stay again.

The main bed mattress was out of shape, plus the sofas in the living room have seen better days.

My husband and I have just come back from a wonderful week’s stay in Abbey View apartment.

It was spotless. The owner had thought of everything for a very comfortable stay. I would just like to mention that one of the sofas was not so comfortable. I think this was down to general wear and tear. This was mainly on the left hand side of the sofa facing the window. Other than that it was perfect.

Well appointed flat and very convenient for Whitby town centre.

The area was very quiet and easy to find. Overall excellent, we really enjoyed our stay. The Christmas tree was a very nice surprise too.

Think you should say about fire station tower from view from one direction but view of Abbey from other side is fantastic

The Apartment was wonderful … all we had to do was unpack our belongings as everything else was provided…even a few goodies to welcome us

When the owner of a holiday home cares about their guests - it really makes a difference.

That’s the case at Abbey View - everything was very well thought out - from the comfortable sofas and well-equipped kitchen, to a DVD library and printed walks. Particularly impressive was the welcome hamper - quite the most generous we’ve ever encountered and all from the legendary Botham’s bakery - fabulous! The flat itself is compact, but it more than met our needs for a week’s stay. Being on the third floor it was very quiet (thank heavens for the lift) and it’s superbly placed a short walk from town. The secure parking was great, one of our ‘must haves’ when visiting Whitby. We will certainly be making a return visit.

Lovely hamper ( one of the best we have been given) welcomed us into the apartment. Property is in an ideal position, for access to Whitby ( just a short walk down the hill) and also further afield when using the car. Car parking space is a bonus as not many properties in Whitby have onsite parking. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean, well decorated and really well equipped. Beds nice and comfortable. Lovely view of the Abbey and glimpses of the sea. Welcome pack had some very tasty items in it. Loved the ginger cake! Would definitely recommend staying here. We had a lovely holiday. Lots to do in the area. Thanks for being flexible with the dates and letting us move the booking.

I'm not sure about being asked to strip bedding will ever be a part of any future holiday I book, having never been asked before.

If this is a part of the future then I won't book another holiday like this one!

Great location and apartment but let down by tired and neglected interior.

Carpets stained throughout, toilet didn’t flush, sofa needed replaced, bedding was bizarre. The quilt was too small for the bed and inside a huge cover which meant that the cover trailed on the floor. The sheets weren’t even tucked in and then when stripping the bed on departure, to my horror there was a plastic sheet covering the mattress! Really disappointed as have been with Yorkshire Coastal Cottages on many holidays and have always had lovely accommodation.

Very comfortable stay. Lovely, clean, tastefully furnished flat with a brilliant view of Whitby Abbey. Perfect location just a 5 minute walk out of town and easy to get out to other coastal Towns and areas of the Yorkshire Moors.

The apartment was lovely, modern, clean and had everything we needed.

Fantastic location for Whitby and great views of the Abbey. I would recommend for couples or small group of friends. My only complaint would be Sykes failed to tell us the office was shut and that we could not collect the key fob for the car park as detailed in the email they sent me prior to arrival. We wasted our time finding somewhere to park and locate the office we were told to go to only to find it closed. The instructions on how to access the apartment via the keypad outside were also not very clear and it took us several attempts to get in. This is no reflection of the apartment which was great. However Sykes need to update their email communications.

The apartment was very comfortable whilst being clean and Covid safe.

It has great views of the Abbey from the living room and it was only a short walk into the Town. The parking space is an added bonus but it is rather tight due to the pillars. We ate out most nights and can recommend Trenchers, Harry's Bar an The Star Inn the Harbour all of which served excellent local fare.

We had a great five days and everything was set up perfectly.

This is probably one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed.

Thank you for that. We ate out each evening so never used the kitchen items but everything was available. We felt safe and very secure and slept well. My only slight moan would be a suggestion to switch to blackout blinds in bedrooms as very bright first thing. Thank you. We would book this apartment again and recommend it highly.

It was great to have our own parking bay. We left our car there and walked in and out of town each day. It's only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and beach. Highly recommended.

Very clean, freshly decorated, very quiet location to rear of property with great views, close to amenities.

This apartment had all we needed. Travelling with two teenagers it’s great location for anyone wanting to explore the many lovely places along coastline and enjoy Whitby town (despite lockdown restrictions). The whole building and communal areas kept clean including the lift. Sea fishing, ‘Cranberry Swamp’ cafe (down the road) and Whitby ‘Eskape room’ experience are top three highly recommended activities to do while you are there! There’s a lovely park also across the road with kids climbing etc for younger families and indoor sports centre (swimming pool) around the corner though unfortunately closed due to restrictions, are an asset to the location. My only slight criticism would be to move a mirror closer to a plug socket for hair styling, so you could swap the ‘beach’ sign and mirror around in the hall for a simple solution!
