Anchors Down is a lovely apartment in a ideal location.

It as a outside parking space which for Whitby is very convenient. We also found the apartment to be very cool in this hot weather. This was a nice surprise in the heatwave. The beds are very comfy. We recommend The Stables and Seaton Castle if you are looking for good food in nice surroundings. This is the second time we have stayed at this apartment and we will certainly book again.

We really enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely and clean and comfortable, nicely presented. Owners are easy to contact if needed. It's in a great location, and a car parking space is an absolute must for us when staying in Whitby! We would love to stay again.

Anchors down doesn't disappoint very clean and tidy, the beds are very comfy.

Plenty of utensils if you want to cook a meal. Also it is very quiet, good to have your own parking space.

Great apartment, really clean, everything that you needed.

Beds really comfortable. Just a short walk 15 mins to centre of Whitby. Close to numerous pubs only a short walk. Nearest supermarket (Sainsbury or Aldi) 20 minute up hill walk or 5 minute drive away. Would stay again.

Lovely apartment in a central location.

We walking into Whitby town in under 10 minutes. Outside car parking space is a added bonus. Thank you for the goodies and milk waiting for us. The christmas tree was also a nice touch. We have already booked again for August.

It was cosy on arrival. Bedrooms Lovely & roomy. Short walk to the centre of Whitby. Hope to return next year.

We come to Whitby at least twice a year, either staying on Whitehall Landing (4 properties) or the ‘Engine Sheds’ We would definitely look at booking Anchors Down again in the future!

This was a really lovely holiday property, well located and very well looked after (decor and furnishings).

The welcome pack was a surprise as well. We have already recommended this site and property to other people we met whilst on holiday.

Lovely property in a great location.

Everything clean and comfortable. Carpets on doorway a little worn away from their keeper but that’s probably due to so many different people renting. It didn’t detract from our stay which we thoroughly enjoyed. The goodies were a lovely touch. ❤️

A spacious & comfortable apartment, well maintained with everything supplied.

Comfy beds, comfy sofas. A wall clock would be a nice addition. Will definitely try to book again when we next visit Whitby.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable.

Anchor’s Down was a perfect property for us.

The position was great as we liked the view over the river and harbour. Parking is a big thing for us and that box was ticked too. It was a quiet area that also suited. Cleanliness and little decorative touches were outstanding. Loads of storage and a boot/coat cupboard were a real asset. A slight disappointment was the fact that the guest book was full of thanks for a welcome pack and ours was sadly missing. We have had an apology from Lee for which we are grateful. Mistakes happen. Loved it there.

A fabulous, spacious apartment, tastefully decorated throughout providing a very comfortable stay.

The only niggle being the extremely noisy bathroom ceiling fan which automatically turns on with the bathroom light - it really is noisy to the point of sounding faulty and unsafe but obviously as guests we were unfortunately unable to do anything with it other than suffer it.

We had a lovely stay at the property.

It is a well equipped property with everything we needed. We struggled trying to work out how the heating worked, there were no instructions. We started our stay in the bigger bed but both woke with back pain. We moved to the smaller bed which was lovely and comfortable. The view over the river is lovely and it is lovely and quiet. Having a designated parking space is a bonus. Not too far to walk into Whitby. Thank you for the welcome pack it was lovely. We have stayed in this property before and liked it so much we had to come back. I'm sure we will be back again.

Lovely place has everything you need

Lovely walk into Whitby but car parks quite expensive if needed.

Only problem was the baking trays needed lining before use as very marked & s seemed rusty. The welcome pack very much appreciated as had a bad journey also the toiletries.

As usual we have been a few times before and will come again, lovely, says it all

Well maintained & spacious apartment. It over looks the river Esk. Ideally situated about 10minutes walk into Whitby on the flat.

Another great property from Sykes.

Lovely warm, clean property & ideal for staying in Whitby. A 15 min flat walk gets you into Whitby centre & great to have a good free parking space. Very well equipped flat, with everything you need, we had a problem with the electric but the owner responded very quickly so many thanks. Lovely welcome pack of wine, beer, milk & biscuits. Thank you.

Anchors Down was the best accommodation we have stayed at in Whitby and will definitely return, it is so cosy and comfortable, all you need is there, comfy beds,,spacious,rooms .

and wonderful views of the esk, plus a parking space which is a bonus.A big thank you for the welcome pack which was a lovely surprise. Will definitely book again.

Lovely clean and well presented apartment.

Thank you for the welcome pack. The apartment was very spacious with plenty of storage. We found the mattress on the main bed quite firm, it would benefit from a memory foam mattress topper. We struggled to control the storage heaters, often finding them too hot. We ended up turning the heater off in the bedroom as we could not turn it down. We would definitely return

A lovely clean, comfortable and spacious flat.

Close to all amenities with the added bonus of parking and a great view of the river. (We had one issue on our final day which the owner dealt with very swiftly and efficiently.)

Lovely comfortable accommodation.

Very clean and a very welcome break after a hectic year. Great to see the steam train and we even saw 'sammy' the seal!! Thank you for a lovely stay.

A really relaxing holiday, apartment has everything you could need, it is spacious and obviously well looked after by the owners.

Easy walking access into Whitby alongside the river with a lovely view of the Abbey.

We are returning visitors to this beautiful apartment right on the harbour side with beautiful views, steam train spotting feom the window was great and the kids enjoyed crabbing off the harbour side.

Very clean and modern, it had been updated since our last visit too. We love the location and the parking spot, for then an easy walk into whitby or as your base to travel elsewhere. Robin hoods Bay and Scarborough are not far away. Owners had left a welcome package of milk, tea, biscuits and wine! Sponge/cloth/tea towels/soap and kitchen cooking utensils and trays all available too. DVDs and games also available. Towels and bed linen included. A perfect apartment and we will return again.

We had a great time whilst staying at Anchors Down.

The property was very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Only a short walk away from the centre and with an allocated parking spot being a real bonus. If we are in the area in the future we would happily stay again.

Lovely apartment well looked after very clean well equipped would highly recommend every thing about the apartment was fantastic and only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and has its own parking space can't fault it in any way we had a wonderful week.

Ps to the owner the tap on the kitchen sink is slack needs to be adjusted to prevent any water damage. Plus a none stick frying pan apart from that excellent

A lovely property in an ideal location with beautiful views of the estuary.

Very well equipped and comfortable- ideal for a family of four. Easy 10 minute walk into Whitby and plenty of places to explore in the area.

This was by far the best property we have stayed in for a long time.

It was very clean, warm and cosy and also very quiet. It was well equipped, and we enjoyed our welcome pack. It was lovely to watch the steam trains go past the window also the Heron and Egret that came to the river at low tide. It was a 30-minute walk into Whitby but being bad on our feet a younger person could do it quicker. There were only 4 restaurants and 3 tea rooms we could eat in as I am allergic to dog hairs and there were plenty of dogs around. We would recommend this property. One thing they could leave more of is toilet rolls.

We had an excellent week at Anchors Down, everything was perfect.

Clean accommodation and welcome pack-much appreciated. The views are brilliant of the estuary and of Whitby itself. Great location, short walk into Whitby, didn't use the car all week. Parking was a bonus, right outside the entrance door. No issues getting the keys or returning them to the key safe (as other guests have previously commented). Good communication with the owner when we had a query before arrival. Hope to return in the future.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious in a great location with a nice short walk into Whitby town centre.

Also the dedicated parking space outside was perfect as it means that you can park up in a safe location without worrying about where to park.

Great place to stay will book for next year

Apartment well equipped with lots of storage space.

The only difficulty we had was opening the key safe, difficult to reach and when returning the keys difficult to replace and operate closing of the key safe.

Absolutely lovely apartment, clean and very welcoming, water pressure from the shower was low, private parking was a godsend, lovely location for walks on the coastal path and to Ruswarp, the train passes by the living room and main bedroom window, will definitely be returning.

The apartment was lovely and well positioned overlooking the estuary .

The bedrooms are very spacious with comfy beds . Just a few house keeping things . We could have done with hand towels in the bathroom and kitchen and kitchen roll. One toilet roll and one bin bag is a bit penny pinching considering we spent £1100 . The toaster is very poor.

Shower difficult to regulate.

Either too hot or little pressure. Bigger bath towels would be nice

Nice welcome pack on arrival and lots of information of things to do in and around Whitby! Apartment in a Great location with no hills to get in and out of the town centre. Close to all the restaurants and shops. Would book again.
