Esk Retreat

Superb location and accommodation.

Spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped. As a non dog owner I was a little concerned that it might smell a little doggy and have the usual tell tale signs that dogs have stayed there but credit to previous dog clients and service management there were no obvious signs. I can fully recommend the Esk Retreat, it's superb! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful accommodation.

Very clean and comfortable place to stay.

Plenty of towels and showers were great. Good heating - and a good location for walking into town. Car parking a bonus in Whitby!

Firstly, with regards to the booking, there was no problem with the booking but trying to contact you is extremely difficult.

You appear to have been swallowed up by a much bigger organisation and it seems the days of being able to just call you have gone. This is not for the better. Not everyone wants to correspond via an account or a chatbot. If this had been my Mum trying to contact you, it would have been a nightmare for her. The full contact information was not provided on my account hence why I tried to find this out and quite frankly the service was left wanting. It appears the days of just emailing with entry details have gone and having an account is the best way forward. For me it is not and for that reason, I will be very reluctant to use you again in the future. In fact, I know if I do, it will be because it was a last resort in trying to find a holiday. A sad day. With regards to Esk Retreat, it is a lovely flat. Spacious and comfortable. Great having the parking too. I have given it 4 stars though because on arrival someone had put the dishwasher on and it therefore became our responsibility to empty it and ensure the items in it were clean. I was under the impression it was the previous occupants responsibility to ensure all items were clean and put away. I have never experienced anything like this before. Extremely disappointing. The radiator in the living room is not big enough to heat the room. We found it a bit chilly and having my 82 year old Mum with me, it was a concern. We had to use some of the blankets to keep us warm in the evening. We didn't let this distract from our stay though and we had an enjoyable week.

Would definitely book again.

Had another wonderful holiday staying at the Esk Retreat in Whitby!

Beautiful apartment, everything you need is here! Extremely clean and comfortable! Great location just a short walk into the town centre. This time we took my elderly parents who found the location and walk into the centre nice and easy as predominantly flat. Our Golden Retriever Winnie thoroughly enjoyed it as always. Will not hesitate to book again. Thank you.!

We had a very pleasant stay as a family.

The apartment was in a great location, with a short walking distance to whitby town. The owners had thought of the extra little things and would recommend for people to stay

This apartment was perfect for us who were a multi-generational group (ages ranging from 4-84).

The ground floor made it ideal for the elderly member of our family and there was plenty of space for the whole family to be comfortable. The location to the town centre and parking spaces were an additional perk of the property. The flat has everything you could need for a short stay and the welcome tray of biscuits, teas and coffees were very much appreciated. Would love to return - thank you.

Our third January visit to Esk Retreat.

Excellent accommodation with parking, convenient and easy walk to Whitby centre. The heating on prior to arrival would have been welcoming as it was baltic! Would not book for longer than a few days as we'd need a washing machine. The modern electric radiators were difficult to set and control. All clean and well presented however, mattress in main room flattening and all pillows were flat. A lot of the crockery was chipped. These are easily rectified and we expect they are on your 'to do' list before the season starts. We would be happy to return to this comfortable ground floor apartment and recommend it to others.

Very welcoming with a generous bag of chocolates, cookies bottle of wine and even treats for the dog.

Esk retreat is a beautiful property which we thoroughly enjoyed staying in during our latest visit to Whitby.

Brilliant location, by the harbour and a few minutes walk into the centre of Whitby. The property was immaculate, had everything we needed and more. Look forward to staying there in the future.!

Lovely spacious accommodation for a family of 4 holiday with enough room to bring the grandparents with us too.

Perfect spot too being walkable distance into Whitby's Old Town, including pubs, takeaways & supermarkets. Would book again & highly recommend.

Thank you for the generous goodies! This is yet another lovely time we have spent there & will be returning. One concern was the cooker which did not work despite reading instructions, this time around unfortunately as we had brought food with us to cook on our first day. Cooker hot plates only. Oven was fine. Apart from that, it was an excellent break away for us. Look forward to our next break here in January! Again thank you!

Hello, loved the apartment!

Have booked again for another date! One thing to note please - the door to the apartment - the lock was faulty, seemed to jam within the mechanism. Worried we not might get back in again. Perhaps that might be fixed next time we are there? Kind regards lynda

Very good no problems would stay again

Great ground floor apartment clean and comfy and within easy walking distance to shops,bars and restaurants.

A nice, comfortable and clean appartment.

Good location within easy walking distance of the centre of Whitby and the beach. Only 2 minor changes I would make, a small shelf in the shower to place your shower gel etc and a net curtain in the living room (felt a bit on show to people walking by

The lock box caused us problems - it looked as if a few people had taken out their frustration on it!

We were saved by a helpful resident who finally managed to get it open. A small point - in the ensuite bathroom there was no shelf for toiletries and my elderly friend did not like bending down to retrieve her stuff from the floor. Otherwise a great place - thanks for arranging the sunshine!
