“On first look, the property is as expected based on the photos - small, with everything you need for a base.”

The location is fantastic - 5 minute walk into town along the harbour. On arrival, there is milk in the fridge and a box of tea and prosecco (no coffee - I was unsure of this from other reviews so thought it worth mentioning). However, the place requires some maintenance. We were there during a cold spell and the property itself was quite cold at times and there are no instructions to use the heater (only 1 in the property and it's in the bathroom). A small plug in would be useful for the living space. The bathroom mirror was up with command hooks and fell off the wall in the middle of the night. The shower was also only luke warm (not ideal when the place itself is also chilly). In the bedroom area, we made the mistake of pulling the bed out slightly after dropping something and were absolutely disgusting at the filth down there and under the the wooden drawers. Additionally, the mattress springs are coming through. I saw another review mention this - it is not just preference as the owner suggests. The mattress is in need of replacement. It seems the whole place is in need of a deep clean - in addition to to bed needing pulling out for cleaning, the kitchen area had cobwebs hanging under the cupboards. The cottage is in a prime location and with some maintenance would be absolutely fantastic! The quirky layout and cute little outside area, could make a lovely holiday or short break.

Thankyou for your feedback. I will start with the heating, there is a heater in the bathroom and an electric log burner in the room, as the property is small this is adequate heating. We have stayed down there and it is warm. As for the hot water, I presume you have'nt turned it up to the full capacity, unfortunately nothing we can do about that. We are in the process of replacing the mattress but there has only been one other mention of this, however we will replace it. I will say if you go looking for problems you will find them. The property is Grade 11 listed and over a 100 years old. As for pulling out the bed, i'm sure if you pull out any furniture there will be a little dust, filth I find hard to believe, however I can only apologise about this, it will be rectified. We take great pride in our lovely little Fisherman's cottage and we get some lovely reviews about it. Unfortunately some people dont appreciate the history and the age of the property, it isn't a new build. Property Owner
