** NEW** Lovely period property in the heart of Whitby, with private parking, superbly located close to the charming Pannett Park and near restaurants, shops, bars and cafés, with the beach and harbour a short walk. This is a beautifully furnished and spacious cottage that sleeps 5, an ideal property for a wonderful holiday at the coast and the added advantage of a ground floor bedroom and bathroom.

Lovely cottage met all our needs clean comfortable would stay there again

Park your car immediately in front of charming period property, that has retained many original features, entering via the hallway into a delightful sitting room with views over the town towards the harbour; the room is spacious and has comfortable sofas, a Flat screen TV/DVD, WiFi, and a small library of books to enjoy whilst you are on holiday. There is a lovely dining area, a great spot to enjoy meals together, that comfortable sits five people.

Leading off of this area are double doors to a large kitchen, fitted with stylish contemporary units, and including electric oven and hob, integrated fridge, freezer, microwave and a washer/dryer.

This ground floor also has a single bedroom, decorated in shades of yellow, plus a bathroom with a bath and shower over, WC and wash hand basin.

The staircase to the first floor divides to the left and right; to the left is a lovely double bedroom with views over to the harbour. Decorated in off-white with accents of pale greens and with its blind, wooden floors and fern-patterned fabrics, it has a colonial feel to it. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, bedside tables - with lamps if you like to read before lights out! - a wardrobe and easy chair. There is an en-suite shower room with a shower, WC and hand wash basin.

The staircase leading to the right has a charming twin bedroom in shades of lavender, again with long-reaching views over towards the town and harbour, in shades of lavender with two full size 3' single beds, a wardrobe, easy chair and original fireplace (decorative only).

To the outside is a small area with seating, ideal for that first morning cuppa, afternoon tea or maybe a glass of something chilled before dinner!

Every thing was perfect
Mr Moore
Third time at Mews Cottage. Everything as expected and a great time had by all despite the regular calling cards left by the blasted seagulls on my car. We shall definitely return.
Mr Llewellyn
Mews Cottage was extremely comfortable, with everything needed for a really enjoyable holiday. We would definitely return.
Mrs Goodwin
In over 30 years of self catering this is one of the very best places we have stayed. The Sykes description was accurate - it is accommodation full of character, skilfully designed, well decorated and maintained, clean and spacious. It is also furnished to very good standard and well equipped. We felt very comfortable here. To cap it off, it was in a brilliant position, quiet, by a beautiful park but really close to the centre - with parking. Excellent.
Mr Cooper
We have stayed at Mews Cottage previously so knew what to expect. The COVID-19 arrangements were very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sykes Cottages to anyone as the pre-holiday contacts/information was so helpful. They are clearly a very efficient and professional organisation. Well done all at Sykes.
Mr Llewellyn
The cottage we stayed in was wonderful! It was well kept, spacious and bright and a real haven for us during our stay in Whitby. Parking right outside was a huge bonus.
Beautiful cottage in a great location a lovely stay for our family holiday .
Mrs Whincup
Really happy with cottage. Clean and comfortable and in perfect location to the town. Only 5 minutes walk
Mrs Roe
A nice cottage which would be even nicer with a few improvements. As stated in a previous review, the boiler is incredibly noisy and we had to turn the heating off at night or it would have kept us awake. This wasn't too much of an issue as it wasn't cold but I can imagine it would be a problem during a cold spell. The cottage is mostly well equipped, the decoration stylish and the beds comfortable. It is let down however by the strange layout of the kitchen. This is a very large room for a smallish cottage and could easily have accommodated a dishwasher and good-size fridge/freezer. Instead, there is a whole bank of empty ktichen units on the far side, with a tiny stand-alone freezer on the counter-top and a small fridge underneath, with no dishwasher. It would also have been nice to have a wifi connection.
Mrs Willis
Generally nice. Bedrooms great. Washing machine when drying sounds loud and worn. Hob tricky to master and noisey beeping. Boiler internal pump vibrates to excess. Had to turn boiler off each night to get to sleep. Electronic thermostat bit cryptic. Downstairs shower squeals loudly, in use, the sound resonates through whole property, it likely requires a bubble trap/vent required for a thermostatic mixer shower in the hot feed. Dusty around radio speakers in living room. Front door rotting, flaking paint/putty. Sash windows tight to raise, suspect wet swollen timber. There were 12 cars in the car park every day, often double parked. Front of car park has slumped and will likely catastophically fall down hill following heavy rainfall.
