A comfortable cottage with most things we needed for our holiday accommodation.

The only issue we had was the configuration of the bedrooms upstairs - with a four year old, a two year old and a baby, plus the size of the smallish master bedroom, we ended up putting the baby in the travel cot in the master, the two and four year olds in the bunks, and pushing the twin beds together for me and my wife. We had to change around how we unpacked and stored clothes as a result. Apart from that the cottage worked well for us - great location, town, harbourside and beach very accessible, good to have onsite parking as well.

Pros: - Great location, a short walk from the beach and town centre - Easy to find from sat nav directions - Private parking spaces - Well equipped - toilet/kitchen roll and even various medicines (paracetamol etc) provided, good supply of towels.

- Key safe provides easy check in and out - Comfortable beds and cosy front room Cons: - The property and its contents are generally quite outdated - think net curtains, lots of ornaments and mismatched crockery - Whilst clean overall, the shower seal is mouldy and desperately needs replacing - The upstairs toilet continually refills unless you meddle with the flush - A bag of rubbish was outside the front door on arrival and no instructions as to where the bins are located and were provided - The property is advertised and sleeping 6 but is actually bunk beds, two singles pushed together and a queen. As a family of 5, we took the twin beds, our eldest took the queen and our two younger children took the bunk beds. In my opinion, accommodating 6 would be a struggle. Overall, the property was ok for a family break at that time of year. We would probably return for another break with the children, but would look for something more luxurious for an adults break.

We come to Whitby every year and have stayed in many cottages, but this one is definitely up there as one of the nicest we’ve stayed in.

Very well equipped in the kitchen and a lovely packet of bothams biscuits and some tea provided by the owners as a welcome. The travel cot fit into the bedroom and the high chair fit into the kitchen without feeling cramped. Amazing powerful shower. Fab location. Have booked again for next year.
