Rose Bungalow

Bungalow was ideal for us short walking distance to Whitby resort, buses available to avoid climb back to the bungalow.

Bed was very comfortable and everything in the bungalow was clean. Only down side was the internet connection could have been slight better as tv picture froze now and then. Overall would definitely stay again this is our second visit. Highly recommend this accommodation.

The bungalow was spotlessly clean and everything you need was there.

We really enjoyed our stay. The only problem for us was the steepness of the road back from town. We are 79 and 80 years old and struggled with it.

We loved the bungalow and its location, and would happily recommend it to others.

We scored it slightly less on facilities as we thought a couple of things would be helpful. i.e. garden chairs (cannot sit on the benches for long periods), and the only duvet was much too thick for the summer.

A comfy garden chair would be very helpful, also a safety rail by the drop beside driveway.

Other than Rose Bungalow was perfect, 3 cheers.Thank you for a wonderful holiday

No need to say more.

This small bungalow is very well maintained, including the garden at the rear.

Inside is spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped, and everything works. As an elderly couple returning for a second visit, the key-box was fiddly (dark numbers and letters especially are difficult to identify even in daylight), and the microwave remains a mystery.

Bungalow was exactly as advertised, clean, tidy, warm and everything you needed for a great stay, parking was a huge asset, close to all amenities, very satisfied.

Whilst we had a lovely stay in Rose bungalow please be mindful of the step into the bungalow, especially if you have elderly guests staying, which I overlooked, also the drop at the side of the driveway.

For me, I was disappointed with the pillows, might sound petty, but couldn’t sleep on first night, on account of lumpy pillows, went to Sainsbury’s and bought some, also, note to owner, tv sits very precariously on stand, accident waiting to happen. Overall, we had a lovely stay, was just a pit stop after exploring the delights of Whitby.

10 minutes walk into Whitby. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. We all had a great relaxing time at this property. Really appreciated the welcome gifts too. No complaints from us!

Rose bungalow is the perfect base for a stay in Whitby, it’s ideally located within easy reach of the town centre and all routes for visits further afield.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable.

We really loved our time at Rose Bungalow, lovely accommodation, the beds were very comfy, though pillows quite soft.

It was the first time to experience a wet room, did not enjoy it much. The water seemed slow to drain, so spread across the room and took a while to clear and even longer to dry. Second bedroom not much room to move and limited storage. The walk from bungalow to Whitby is lovely, though it would be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues as some parts are steep and buses hard to gauge the times. The taxi’s are reasonable, it would be good to have a list of numbers at the bungalow. We were hoping to find a visitors book to leave some feedback there!! But that said thank you to the owners for a lovely property and a fabulous holiday for us, also Sykes Cottages.

Great holiday home for the week, definitely will be booking again

Clean, comfortable property with a sun trap rear garden but something adequate to dry the floor of the wet room with after a shower would have been useful otherwise really enjoyed the holiday.

Rose Bungalow was a super base for visiting Whitby and surrounding coastal villages.

It was great to park the car there and walk into Whitby itself.

Cannot fault Rose Bungalow.

Spotlessly clean. Very well decorated and maintained. Well equipped kitchen. Found bed to be very comfortable. Very adequate storage. Everything worked well. The lawn and garden very well looked after. An ideal base obviously for Whitby but very well situated for the coastal hotspots such as Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay etc. The Moors are just a comfortable drive away - enjoyed a lovely meal at the Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge. Many thanks for the Welcome Pack items - very appreciated. Hope to enjoy a return visit in the future.

A lovely property in a very quiet area.

All facilities were as expected and the welcome brochure explained anything we needed to know. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Could not have chosen a nicer place to stay.

Everything about the bungalow was lovely- the surprise welcome gift very much appreciated too-thank you! The bungalow was spotlessly clean and very homely. We didn't use the car the whole week we were here and it was great to have safe on site parking. Lovely walks along the Cinder Track into Whitby centre (approx 15 minures). Canterbury Close itself is lovely and quiet and beautifully maintained - no traffic noises - perfect for a relaxing stay. Would thoroughly recommend Rose Bungalow for your stay.

Unfortunately our neighbours were renovating so there was a lot of noise from hammers, drills etc.

We didn’t spend a lot of time in the house so it didn’t affect us massively but when you’re on holiday you want peace and quiet! We’ve stayed here before and would stay again - it’s a lovely little bungalow with everything you need

The bungalow was excellent.

it had everything you needed. The only thing wrong was the television. The picture was too bright and unable to alter it. Otherwise a very good holiday venue.

Bungalow and garden were well maintained, adequate for a couple, but four adults would be crowded.

We had just two small gripes: 1. the JVC TV was awful, looking like it was badly set up, with large coloured fringing due to low mono & colour resolution. Barely watchable; 2. the wet room floor was permanently wet after a shower with no apparent means of mopping it up, leaving us having to paddle to the toilet & wash basin.

Absolutely lovely we will be returning again.

Added bonus of some outdoor space and drive. Lovely surprise to arrive to welcome treats to help us settle into our holiday. Location very peaceful just a short walk into the centre had a great week away.

The welcome pack, especially the biscuits and wine was a nice surprise.

Less welcome was the lack of any hand soap in the wet room or elsewhere. The wet room was one of the reasons we chose the bungalow, and it worked well, although those with mobility issues might have found it a bit tight. The rubbish bins were a slight puzzle. We left the recycling bin out to be collected as requested, and this had not been done by the time we left. This was quite tricky as the bench and the step to the back door were in the way and took some manoeuvring. Each of the bins contained a large black bin liner which we hoped was OK. At home the presence of such a liner would have resulted in the bin collectors refusing to touch it. A note about this in the visitor file might be useful. The well maintained back garden with seating was a nice feature. Being reasonably mobile we were able to walk into town, although the very heavy traffic made this slightly unpleasant until we worked out back routes away from the noise and fumes. Some visitors might appreciate some notes on how to do this. We were late also in discovering the access to the cinder track and this again might be a useful addition to the visitor information. If we were to stay in Whitby again we would be happy to book this clean modern bungalow again.

Very quiet as not on main road. Well kept lovely garden grass was cut while we were there! Just a pity we couldn't use it due to the awful weather!! Wellcome pack very much appreciated thank you. Will definitely book again for later in the year.

On our arrival owners had left us a generous welcome pack which we appreciated.

The bungalow couldn't be faulted, it was very clean, warm and comfortable with all that you could need for a self catering holiday. The garden was very nice with quality garden furniture. It's situated in a very quiet area but only a short distance from Whitby and also lovely Pannett park. We don't have Sky TV at home but the owner was very helpful in showing us how to get the different channels. Some instructions would be helpful if there are other visitors like us. Overall we would highly recommend this bungalow.

Very cosy and comfortable. Lovely welcome gifts. Modern, quiet, great location. Rose bungalow was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfy. Owner was very helpful providing garage keys to store our bikes in and on hand when needed.

We found Rose Bungalow to be a really clean and comfortable holiday let, with all the necessary equipment and facilities for a relaxing self-catering stay.

The location on a very quiet estate was ideal for us, and well placed for visiting Whitby and other areas of this lovely part of the Yorkshire Coast.

Lovely quiet area and not far from the centre of Whitby. The bungalow was ideal for my husband and myself who are both in our 80s and cannot climb stairs. Just loved staying there.

We loved the bungalow and so nice to have a little garden and also driveway.

The harbour was just a 5 minute drive where we could always park. The bungalow was spotless and in very good condition. The only thing we wished for was for some toilet and cleaning materials which we had to go out and buy. Sainsbury's a five minute drive had everything we needed. We loved Whitby and the moors and would highly recommend.

Very clean, neat and tidy bungalow.

Spacious accommodation and lovely little garden. Kitchen well equipped and very clean. Drive could do with a white line painting down the side to warn about the drop. Mattress could use a topper so that the springs weren’t so obvious.

Walking time to town more than 10 minutes but bus stops very close to property as parking in Whitby is limited. Dining chairs would benefit from cushions or pads but overall most comfortable which included the beds. Would recommend this property.

Had everything we needed. Garden was lovely especially with the great weather we had.Location was great. 15 mins at most and we were in the centre. Main supermarkets very close. Ideal for exploring further afield as well. The only issue we had was the step in as it was quite high for hubby, a grab rail would have helped , but we managed. Really enjoyed our stay and will love to come back again.

Some comfy seats in back garden would be nice. Found double bed mattress was soft and uncomfortable; single beds were very comfortable.

Lovely bungalow, very clean, comfortable and quiet. Felt like "home from home". Stayed in Whitby many times and we know what big advantage to have private parking outside.

This property is spotlessly clean, furnished to a very high standard and well maintained.

A small issue we had was dealt with immediately by the owner. The location is great with a 10 minute downhill walk into the centre of Whitby. There is also a main road with a good bus service a couple of minutes walk away. We tended to walk down into Whitby then get the bus back - much better than messing around with parking.

This was a last minute booking but the bungalow was lovely.

It was extremely clean and well decorated. It felt like a home from home. The bed was very comfortable and I am quite fussy about mattresses being too hard. The parking disc was a useful bonus. I knew it had a wet room but personally if I could change one thing I would have a bath, We had a lovely time and hope to return. Thank you

This bungalow is lovely and pretty much central for getting into Whitby every facility was there so it is home from home ideal for a relaxing holiday we were even left a little welcome pack would recommend a stay

We would point out that the owner stated correctly on his Access Statement that the bungalow kitchen had a fridge with a small freezer compartment.

However you state on your summary incorrectly that the property had a separate fridge, freezer. We found that the compartment would not fit all are freezer food & thus finished up throwing 2 meals away. Hopefully you will correct this fault on your Summary for any further customers benefit.

Handwash would have been a plus the parking disc was a very good bonus.

Rose Bungalow was just as described and better.

Being able to contact the owner and have clear communication from the beginning was also a bonus. I was greeted with a lovely welcome gift (bottle of wine, sweets for the children, tea, coffee, sugar and milk) to help us settle in. The property owner also provided us with a parking disc, to park within the local area which was a further added bonus as it saved on paying to park locally. Rose Bungalow is situated within a very quiet residential part of Whitby, also very close to the town and local supermarkets. Cannot fault the property it was very clean and had absolutely everything we required throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend the bungalow for a small family to stay in and enjoy their staycation.
