Brian “Hi, the property was exceptional.”
Warm and welcoming and very clean. The apartment was very pleasing to the eye with tastefully added decor.The only down thing we experienced was the constant dog fouling around the perimeter and on the parking bays. I will say that this was not to do with the block we where in,but the one right next to the new bridge. Plus why we where there, there was maintence to the roof of the property. Afraid to say people had to squeeze past a cherry picker and manouver them selves over the stability leg of the machine. This was an obvious failure of the health and safety of the operation,has they where working over head. Also they failed to clean up their mess which they left over the pavement outside the access door to the block.regards Brian

Everything was as amazing as usual. The apartment is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Whitby with beautiful views of the river. It is very clean and beautifully decorated. Will be booking again and again and again.

We loved everything about this place and the owners have obviously put a lot of thought and care into this apartment. It is modern and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a great holiday. It is situated in a quiet area of Whitby yet only minutes away from all you’d want to see and experience. It also has a designated parking space which is a must in Whitby. This is our 3rd stay in Sandy Bottoms and it won’t be our last.

It is spotlessly clean, well maintained and has everything needed for a home from home stay. The views from the flat along the river are beautiful with plenty of wildlife to spot. Sandy Bottoms has an appointed parking space which is a huge bonus in Whitby. It is positioned in a quiet area yet only minutes walk away from all the buzz of Whitby. An ideal base for a great holiday.

View from lounge window is great, whether you want to look out at the abbey, watch one of the steam trains come in or just watch the changes to the river with the tide coming in and out, and the window seat is a great place to do it. Apartment comes with its own dedicated parking spot which is ideal, was able to park the car up with no stress. Owners sent us information before our stay regarding how to use electrics, such as tv, showers, cooker etc which was very useful, was also a file on site containing the information along with recommended places to eat, doctors, etc. only one it was missed was car mechanic and wouldn’t you know it, we needed one

Sandy Bottoms was our favourite rental even before the recent makeover, it has now been modernised and is even better. It’s the shortish walk into town, the parking space and the view of the constantly changing river Esk along with the great view of the railway which sets Sandy Bottoms apart. We will return I’m sure.

The apartment was clean ,tidy and welcoming. There's lots of information available to navigate the various appliances together with good recommendations for eating out etc We particularly enjoyed sampling the menu at the Magpie Cafe! Visitors should walk the 199 steps as they are not as strenuous as first thought. A walk along the coast to Robin hoods bay is a great workout but the route can be tricky in places. We also used the bus from and to there as an alternative which is an easier option. This was our second visit to Sandy Bottoms and whilst it unlikely we'd stay there again,we would certainly recommend it to others considering a visit to Whitby.

The location, with parking right outside and wonderful views from all windows of the river couldn’t be better. We had a very stormy week but were always cosy and comfortable. Will definitely return as we love Whitby and this is, by far, the best property we’ve stayed in. Convenient for Sainsbury’s as well as just a ten minute walk into the centre of Whitby. Highly recommended.

It's very quiet so a good nights sleep was had by all. The e-mails sent by the property owners prior to our arrival were informative. The only down side for us was the parking, as all the visitors spaces were full, and we came straight from work in two cars. After a bit of driving around we did manage to get the other car parked near by. Would stay here again, but probably all travel in the same vehicle. Would recommend this property 100%

It is very light, clean and beautifully furnished. The bathrooms are gorgeous. There are ever changing views of the river, particularly from the lovely big window seat in the living room. We saw herons, little egrets, cormorants, guillemots and lots of other birds. We even saw a seal a couple of times. It was fascinating to watch the movement of the tides, and we loved the little tide clock! We also enjoyed seeing the steam train puffing in and out on the opposite side of the river. It was great to have a parking space at the front of the building and it’s an easy 10 minute walk into Whitby. We had a brilliant week and we were so sorry to leave. We hope to be back in the not too distant future!

The refurbishment to the kitchen, en-suite and bathroom and decorating since our stay last year has been completed to a very high standard. The apartment is located in a perfect situation with car parking which is a real bonus and only a short walk into Whitby. The view of the estuary is beautiful and very relaxing. Enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked again for the same week next year - third year on the trot so that must speak volumes. I would highly recommend Sandy Bottoms.

We enjoyed the lovely views over the River Esk, Whitby Harbour, and of the steam train which runs regularly alongside the river. We appreciated the convenient allocated parking space right outside the entrance. We were very comfortable in the apartment, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a high end apartment, in a well kept complex, which is peaceful and quiet, and we would definitely recommend it.

The apartment was very well stocked with everything you could possibly want. The view of the river Esk and the Whitby harbour from the window seat are fantastic and watching the tide come in and out is wonderful. A couple of very minor issues would improve the place. One, there is only one waste bin in the kitchen and none in bathrooms and two, there were no spare duvet covers for the bunk beds. Overall we would recommend Sandy Bottoms to everyone. A fantastic place and we had a great week there. Thank you. You may see us again.

It has everything you could want, it’s clean and comfortable and warm. It had the added touches of a few lovely decorations and lights and a beautiful Christmas tree. There were also treats left in the kitchen for which the whole family thanks the owners and local overstayer for, they were delicious. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. The best part is sitting in the bay window watching the Whitby port life and wild life changing every hour.

This is the best location. Ten minutes to the town, delightful outlook and great property. My only complaint is. The freezing weather conditions at the time, meant the property was extremely cold when we got there. We like to try different properties. But I would definitely stay there again

Icing on the cake is the allocated parking space, a real luxury in Whitby. Only complaint was the "softness" of the 2 couches. Due to my back issues I was unable to sit in either of them & but spent the whole week sitting in the "magical" window seat enjoying the amazing views. Beds were extremely comfortable with lovely crisp bedding, would certainly book this apartment again.

Kitchen very well equipped with everything we needed to cook. Washer dryer was handy to have since electric heaters nothing could be dried on them. Plastic sheeting on the single beds were abit warm for my son, a breathable waterproof mattress protector would of been less warm. But he still slept OK just made him hot. Allocated parking space for the apartment was handy. Enjoyed our stay and could get in abit earlier as the owner messaged us was nice of them. Close enough to walk into Whitby. The window seat was lovely looking out our son loved it. Enjoyed our stay thank you

The property owners were brilliant, they were extremely flexible to our circumstances during the stay and were so very helpful. I would highly recommend Sandy Bottoms as a place to stay and really hope we will be back soon.

Beds were clean but everthing else needed thorough deep clean,problems with the oven,in that it went off when you switched the hob on.The caretaker did try to help but there was still a problem,just did not use it anymore.Cups were stained ,some chipped. positives.....parking space,lift,great views.Had met friends for the break whose transport was pre booked otherwise would not have stayed.

I can assure you that the apartment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between every set of guests. Both bathrooms are fully functioning, it is disappointing that the decor was not to your taste. To minimise the possible transmission of Covid, the manuals for all appliances are emailed in advance to guests and we check that they have been received. All electric ovens if switched off at the wall will need the clock re-setting once switched on before they will work. We mention this in the Guest Information just in case and the manual for the oven explains how to do this. We are pleased we were able to quickly resolve your issue over the telephone. You mentioned that you were not internet savvy so could not access the manuals. We are not aware of any previous guests having difficulties but we may need to review whether we return to leaving the manuals in the apartment. I can assure you that the oven works absolutely fine and other guests have not raised any issues. Note that the single cracked mug has been replaced. The only small negative was lack of provision of soap, toilet roll and washing up liquid in the flat- I really think this should be provided. Thanks for a lovely visit.

The only thing that I would change is the check out time. 9am is early (especially with a little one) only one of us could pack the car so it was a bit of a rush to get out for 9am. Even if it was 9:30am that would be a bag help. Thank you for letting us stay with you, we would definitely recommend and would love to come back.

The nearby fish and chip shop, we were told by a local in the queue, has the best fish in Whitby! Having faced Whitby's parking (and its cost) in previous visits to the town, the dedicated parking space is a real bonus! The apartment is really spacious, comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner provided plenty of information in advance of our stay. In short, it was the perfect base for our family's short break. The only thing I would change is the 0900 check-out time (but that is due to the extra cleaning for Covid reasons).

Your own car parking space and visitors parking made it ideal, the cleanliness was superb and with the present situation made you feel like being at home. My two granddaughters loved their room and had plenty of room to let us have an all round relaxing week, will definitely be returning.

It's spacious and comfortable (sitting on the window seat and admiring the view was great) and fairly well equipped. Unfortunately, it does have a down side. There's no gas supply to the property so there's no central heating as a consequence. This means you're reliant on a cylinder heater for hot water, which is a problem if someone has a bath, it means you've got to wait for more hot water. There's a number of storage heaters which gave off decent heat, but one in the twin bedroom took a while to decide to work, despite us trying the controls. There's no dishwasher (it doesn't list one). But if a group of you are staying for a week do you really want to be washing pots after meals. There's a large but old flat screen tv and Freeview box. The operation of both requires two remotes and is a bit of a faff. Could really do with upgrading the telly and getting Sky. We coupled our iPhone to the stereo unit in the room and listened to music instead.

Easy to walk in to whitby. Accommodation was well equipped and very spacious. Hopefully want to book again for next year. Very useful having un suite and bathroom with 6 of us staying. Would recommend this apartment highly.

There is nothing at Sandy Bottoms that is not catered for extremely comfortable with views to die for. We could not have had a better holiday in this part of the world having the lovely Cedric and his wife next door was a real bonus so friendly and thoughtful. Would wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a holiday home and we will certainly be back.

The location is fantastic, perfect for the town centre with its amazing shopping. The apartment was immaculate with everything we needed for our stay. We met Cedric for the keys and he couldnt have been more helpful. We had 4 adults, 2 children and the apartment had amply space for us all. It really was one of the best holidays we have had as a family. We would highly recommend booking Sandy Bottoms :)

It is beautifully decorated, so comfortable, especially the window seat, you could sit there all day looking out over the river and seeing the steam trains passing by. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is also in a great location only a short walk into Whitby.

This is by far one of the best holiday apartments we have stayed in and we have stayed in many! It is bright and spacious and has the most spectacular view of the river and the steam railway - a massive bonus! It is extremely well fitted out and very comfortable. Cedric, next door, who welcomed us was a star ensuring we knew how things worked etc. The apartment is ideally located just outside of the main hussle and bussle of Whitby , however, it is a very easy stroll into the centre. You hear very very little of the noise from the flyover. We hardly used the car at all during our stay which we could leave safely parked in the designated parking bay right outside the apartment building. We would love to come again this year but looks like the apartment is fully booked until the very end of the year - why should I be surprised! It's excellent.

Accessible with wheelchair/ stick - I found the lift access and all on one level so easy. Great equipped kitchen. Clean. Spacious (even with 4 kids!). Comfortable beds. Easy key collection. Great parking.

Just fantastic! The whole apartment was amazing from the views to the excellent facilities...comfy beds, great TV, comfy sofas and window seating, well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Very kind and welcoming caretaker who looked after our bags until check in time. Perfect position for walking into Whitby about 15 mins and there is a chip shop locally and a good tavern. We also walked to the local Sainsbury's which is about 25 mins away. Excellent walking in the area to and very easy to walk to Ruswarp. Can't praise this place enough! Love it!
