“I am really sad to leave such a negative review on Sleepers.”

This is the fourth railway cottage we have stayed in and it was the worst. When we arrived I always have a look round. The dining room and coffee tables were glass and looked like they had been cleaned with a dirty wet cloth- there was smears all over them. We had to use glass cleaner to get them clean. The microwave was relatively clean inside but the outside had grease splatter marks on it, so did the kitchen cupboard doors and handles. The kettle needed throwing away - I know the water is ...

The kettle needed throwing away - I know the water is hard but it should be descaled every now and then at least - looked like it had never been done - we actually had to go and buy a kettle (normally I would use a pan but all the kitchen items were old and stained). All the kitchen cupboard doors wouldn’t shut properly. The upstairs floor was so creaky, it would wake you up if you are in bed (the house is upside down). The bed was so uncomfortable and when we stripped the bed we realised why. The mattress topper was stained and had body divots which was why it was so uncomfortable and the duvet had stains on it. If I had checked beforehand we would not have slept in the bed. The upstairs toilet door handle was loose and had to be tightened. The downstairs bathroom was in need of a deep clean. It was hard getting in and out of the shower - we did have a bath mat but it was very dirty so we didn’t use it. The bin in the bathroom was broken. The shower head bracket didn’t work very well - seemed to be broken. The wardrobe door key was broken so wouldn’t lock but that didn’t matter as the door didn’t shut properly anyway. The knobs on the drawers and wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom were loose and had to be tightened. The outside needed some serious de-weeding and some of the patio flags were broken and rocked when walked on. And lastly the cleaners had left the dirty bedding from the previous stay in bags outside the front door all week. We had booked our stay from Monday to Saturday but we left on Friday morning
