Kingfisher House
Description
Kingfisher House is an impressive Victorian residence nestled in the heart of Staithes, one of North Yorkshire’s most picturesque coastal villages.
Ideal for families or groups of friends, this charming property offers stunning sea views, a freestanding bath, and table football for added fun.
Inside, the home celebrates its heritage with high ceilings, ornate coving, mosaic floors, and stained-glass accents.
The inviting hallway opens into two elegant reception rooms: a bay-fronted lounge with a feature fireplace and countryside views, and a stylish dining room perfect for family meals and long conversations after a day by the sea.
The kitchen combines classic design with modern convenience, featuring quartz worktops, dual ovens, a five-ring induction hob, and a dishwasher, ideal for preparing hearty breakfasts before coastal walks.
Upstairs, six beautifully appointed bedrooms await, three with en-suite showers.
The first floor offers bright doubles, one with a TV, while the top floor adds two more rooms, including one with a TV and table football.
A luxurious bathroom, featuring a slipper bath and a separate shower, completes the interior.
Outdoors, enjoy morning coffee in the enclosed front garden or take advantage of rear courtyard parking for two cars.
From Kingfisher House, wander Staithes’ cobbled streets, admire fishermen’s cottages clinging to cliffs, and explore the harbour’s tidal waters.
Visit the Staithes Gallery, follow coastal paths for dramatic views of Cowbar Nab, or relax with coffee overlooking the sea.
A short drive brings you to Whitby’s historic charm, climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, browse quirky boutiques, and award-winning fish and chips.
In Saltburn-by-the-Sea, ride the Victorian cliff lift, stroll the pier, or watch surfers from the promenade cafés. Head inland to Guisborough, gateway to the North York Moors, where forest trails and the ruins of Gisborough Priory await.
Kingfisher House offers a rare chance to experience Yorkshire’s coast and countryside in a spacious, character-filled home steeped in history.

What guests are saying
Great location with sea views.
Fantastic house - beautifully decorated, well equipped, great bedrooms with ensuites, plenty of room in kitchen, dining room and lounge, warm and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Lovely house for family get-together.
All rooms were individually decorated. Great airy lounge and the dinning room was ideal for family meals. Had a problem getting the hot tub up to temperature so unable to get full use but owners responded quickly to messages and offered to come to rectify. Better hot tub instructions would have been useful. Excellent location with short down hill walk to the harbour. Excellent cafes within short walk.
Lovely house, perfect for our 3 generational family.
It’s in the perfect spot for exploring the area. We appreciated the welcome pack on arrival and the hot tub was lovely and relaxing after a day’s walking
