Poplar Lodge (Pet) is a charming timber retreat tucked into the peaceful countryside surrounding Thirsk, Yorkshire.

Step inside this single-storey lodge and you’ll find a layout designed for ease and togetherness.

Two bedrooms offer space to settle in: one double, and another double with its own en-suite, complete with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC.

A second bathroom, fitted with a bath, shower over, basin, and WC, and hairdryer, ensures everyone has room to prepare for the day ahead.

At the heart of the lodge, the open-plan living area invites shared moments.

The sitting room is gently warmed by an electric oven, with a TV and HDMI connection ready for film nights or catching up on a favourite series.

The kitchen, equipped with a ceramic hob, grill, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle, and toaster, makes meal preparation straightforward.

The dining table offers a space to gather, whether for breakfast, board games, or planning the next outing.

Outside, the decking provides a quiet spot to enjoy the fresh country air.

With the gateway to the North York Moors National Park to the east and Yorkshire Dales National Park to the west, the bustling town of Thirsk boasts a quaint market place, splendid Georgian buildings, and a Norman church. Here there are a selection of excellent pubs, restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre, as well as independent stores to be browsed at your leisure. Visit the World of James Herriott Museum, dedicated to the life and works of the town’s own famous vet and author or explore the surrounding rolling countryside and Hambleton Hills, offering excellent walking and cycling opportunities. The town is home to the Yorkshire Vet, All Creatures Great and Small, and Thirsk Races, and there are an abundance of local walks throughout the local area, including those at Osmotherly, the Cleveland Way, and Sutton Bank.
