The property

Seabreeze nestles among Filey’s characterful streets, a traditional fisherman’s cottage that feels perfectly in tune with the town’s coastal charm.

Step outside and you’re moments from independent shops, welcoming pubs, and inviting cafés, with the call of the sea never far away, whether that’s a breezy shoreline walk or a gentle amble with an ice cream in hand.

Inside, the pace is relaxed and easy.

The sitting room offers a restful spot to gather after a day exploring, while the kitchen/diner creates a sociable hub for cooking, chatting, and sharing meals, complete with a dishwasher for added convenience.

Handy storage beneath the stairs keeps sandy shoes and beach gear neatly tucked away.

Upstairs, two thoughtfully presented bedrooms await: a double for peaceful nights and a twin for friends, children, or extra guests.

A family bathroom completes the layout, featuring a bath with shower over, ideal for a long soak or a quick rinse after the beach.

Smart TV and WiFi ensure entertainment is covered when evening falls.

Filey itself promises plenty to enjoy, from its sweeping sandy beach and historic promenade to the rugged beauty of Filey Brigg and the colourful Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park.

Further afield, Scarborough blends heritage and seaside fun with its imposing castle, fascinating Rotunda Museum, and family favourite SEA LIFE centre.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens adds grandeur to any itinerary, with landscaped grounds, a charming zoo, and panoramic clifftop views.

Seabreeze offers a welcoming base where coastal traditions meet modern comforts, perfect for discovering the best of North Yorkshire’s shoreline.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

FILEY

Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.

Set in the magnificent Filey Bay, Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making it an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels and there is a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated and there are loads of family activities such as Alpamare UK waterpark, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where all kinds of common and rare birdlife can be seen. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where you will find great beaches, a castle, the Rotunda Museum and the acclaimed Sea Life Centre. Other towns worth visiting close to Filey include Bridlington, Whitby, Hornsea and Saltburn, which all demonstrate the vibrancy of this picturesque North Yorkshire region.
