Description

The Four Views is a bright and stylish townhouse duplex set above a shop in the lively seaside town of Whitby.

Surrounded by sandy beaches, independent stores, pubs, and the dramatic landscapes of the North York Moors National Park, this spacious home offers a refreshing base for friends and families eager to uncover the best of North Yorkshire.

Tucked along atmospheric cobbled streets and close to charming shops selling fudge, fossils, and locally crafted gin, the property opens into a generous first-floor open-plan living space designed for easy, contemporary living.

A contemporary kitchen adds a pop of personality with its sleek green tiles, creating an uplifting setting for preparing meals with the excellent range of amenities provided.

Gather at the dining table for relaxed mealtimes and reconnect over your favourite drink, before settling into the stylish sitting area to unwind and share highlights from your day.

Across the upper floors, you’ll find four beautifully presented bedrooms, each offering its own distinct feel.

The second floor hosts a single bedroom and two airy doubles, all dressed with elegant furnishings and soft tones, alongside a chic shower room, perfect for warming up after time by the sea.

The top floor is home to the final double bedroom, where exposed beams and sweeping views of the harbour, clock tower, abbey, and distant hills frame the inspiration behind the property’s name.

This serene space also benefits from an en-suite shower room.

Whitby makes a superb backdrop for a coastal getaway, brimming with inviting eateries, quirky bookshops, vintage stores, and home-made treats.

Stroll the pier for classic seaside vistas, spend sunny afternoons on the beach, or explore Whitby Abbey, the legendary setting linked to the tale of Dracula.

For those seeking adventure, the Cinder Track leads toward Scarborough, while the North York Moors offers an abundance of scenic trails.

Make your Whitby stay feel effortlessly memorable with a visit to The Four Views.

The positives for the accommodation was the location and the size.

However, we spent very little time though because of a number of issues below. There is only comfortable seating for 3/4. This is an old dirty, ripped corner sofa with only three people able to watch TV Seating around the dining table would be comfortable for five. This Property sleep seven people. The shower tray overflowed during our stay and the property's information noted that time should be allowed for drainage between uses. We also noted several maintenance issues throughout the property which affected our overall comfort and enjoyment. One of the double beds is broken and we only had one person sleeping in it, which was fine on the good side. Not suitable for two people. There is no House information regarding how to use equipment, when to put the bins out or even where to put the bins out, heating etc The top bedroom does not have handrails on the top area of the stairs, which is an absolute danger for someone who may be not confident or able. The top bedroom does not have a mirror in the bathroom and the door was jammed open The front door is difficult to close and is clearly broken. The information is not to slam it and to use the key. Just fix it. A handrail rope at the bottom of the stairs is broken and there is a very wide step in a dark area which several of us tripped over regularly! We didn’t use the dishwasher, but apparently that leaks every time it is used as recorded in the book. We didn’t use the washing machine but based on guests experience I had a look inside and it is disgusting. Guest notes have not been actioned. The old wooden sash windows are almost impossible to open and the sitting room ones we left closed which made the room airless. The maintenance issues have not been resolved since 2022 as recorded in the guest books. I would not stay here again as it was not comfortable. We did not cater as did not want to spend too much time in the Property. I would appreciate a reply from Sykes regarding my points above. We had a brilliant holiday, but a very disappointing day in the Property.

Fantastic place, easily slept 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 under 10s.

Lovely aesthetic in a great part of town. Facilities were spot on and great family/living room for watching movies and eating. Shame it was only a stop over but would return
