    “Great stay in north Yorkshire!”

    We've had an absolutely wonderful stay at wheelhouse cottage. The owner was really friendly and welcoming and there was some milk waiting in the fridge when we arrived. There is everything you would need for your stay, and even some games and books in the living room too. Locally a Tesco and aldi are in easy reach and we found it a really useful base for exploring Yorkshire, using the park and ride to access york a couple of times too. I can't fault the cottage and would happily stay ...

With a fabulous open plan living area with woodburner in a feature fireplace, this Sowerby cottage also has lovely beamed ceilings, a designer kitchen and three spacious bedrooms with exposed beams.

Expansive glass windows in the living area overlook the attractive courtyard setting enjoyed by this Sowerby cottage.

Sowerby is a mile away, with excellent pubs and eateries, while the amenities of Thirsk are also close by.

This Sowerby cottage makes an ideal base for enjoying the coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough, as well as the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors or the city of York, and is an ideal holiday home for some well earned 'R and R', any time of year.

The pretty village of Sowerby lies on the outskirts of the historic market town of Thirsk, in the Vale of Mowbray, at the heart of Herriott Country. With the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the west and the North York Moors National Park to the east, Thirsk is just half a mile away, boasting a cobbled market place, splendid Georgian buildings, a Norman church and excellent pubs, shops, restaurants, a cinema, a racecourse and a leisure centre. Visit the renowned James Herriott Museum or explore the surrounding rolling countryside and North York Moors, offering excellent walking and cycling opportunities with the Cleveland Way and the Coast to Coast path.
