Hadleys Fish Restaurant
Another firm favourite among the locals, Hadleys Fish Restaurant has earned its title as ‘Whitby’s Best Fish and Chips’ by readers of the Whitby Gazette for many years running. The restaurant first opened its doors in 1937 and has been serving up fresh seafood dishes ever since.
The takeaway opened in 2016, allowing visitors to enjoy the classic flavours of fish and chips on the go. You can even choose some fresh cockles or mussels as a side dish!

Royal Fisheries
Yet another award-winning fish and chip shop within the town, the team at Royal Fisheries pride themselves on serving up golden fish – cooked to perfection. A family-run business spanning over three generations since 1956, you can always expect a friendly service here.

Another family-run chip shop in the heart of Whitby, Robertson’s Chips Away has been pleasing the tastebuds of visitors for over 25 years! Here, you can enjoy sustainably sourced fish dishes, as well as an assortment of vegan and vegetarian options (cooked separately from the meat and fish).
