Some treats left for us and our dog. Very friendly people who where there to help us if needed. Plenty of leaflets to help you decide where to visit through the stay. Would recommend to stay there. Mandy an Marc

The small village of Brayton offers a selection of local shops and a lovely village green, whilst only 1.8 miles away, for those interested in history, is the superb medieval abbey at Selby, famous as the birthplace of English kings and home to stunning stained glass windows.

There are many more attractions within easy reach of The Annexe, including the York Designer Outlet, for a spot of retail therapy, whilst the park and ride facility here will take you over to the fabulous city of York itself, home to the Minster, the Shambles and the famous National Railway Museum.

You could also pay a visit to Kingston-Upon-Hull’s award-winning aquarium, home to penguins, sharks and rays aplenty.

Last but most certainly not least, when it comes to food and drink you'll be spoilt for choice here in Yorkshire, whether you're craving real ale, Yorkshire puddings or delicious fresh produce such as rhubarb and Wensleydale cheese.

About the location

BRAYTON

Selby 1.8 miles; York 17 miles.

The small and pretty village of Brayton is an ancient parish, dating back to Saxon times and mentioned in the Domesday Book. There is a selection of local shops, a butcher and a delightful village green, as well as a Norman church and a Methodist chapel dating back to the 1800s. Less than two miles away is the historic town of Selby, a real hidden gem with an impressive abbey and a fine selection of restaurants. Also close by is the fabulous city of York which teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, its medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums (including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience. A wonderful holiday destination.

Note: Babes-in-arms only.
