Parva

Having been to several places around the country this place “ Parva” did outshone our expectations.

It was very welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. Situated very close in distance to many places of interest ,we settled in very quickly. Having been busy during the day it was like a warm hug to come back to to recharge ready for the next day. The bed was large and cozy and the bathroom was well suited to our needs. I’d highly recommend Parva as a base to stay and take in the beauty of North York Moors National Park

What a lovely cottage!

I was very impressed with the decor and the general design of the property - it was obvious thought and time had gone into it. This was one of the most clean cottages I have ever been to, whoever does the cleaning deserves a pat on the back. Touches like the cake, hot cross buns and milk were greatly appreciated. We took a dog and the handy green space opposite was very handy but also led to other paths and walks. If you like walking this is a great place to be. Stokesly is a very nearby village with shops, restaurants. Overall, a great holiday of 5 days and this comfy cottage made the difference. Parking outside was no problem.

Lovely cosy cottage.

Everything you need for a weeks stay. Loads of storage space. Very comfy bed, very powerful shower. Well appointed downstairs, spacious sofa. Tv on the small side but hey ho. Fantastic location to visit the local area and take in some exceptional walks, supplemented by useful maps and information book. We had a very pleasant weeks stay

Amazing stay at Parva, we loved every second of our time here!

Will be returning as soon as possible. Loved the welcome hamper as we had forgotten milk! Caroline made a lovely cake and the time taken to do this is massively appreciated, we had booked last minute as well so it must have been difficult to get it done in time! Thank you so much for having us Caroline x

Perfect in every way, we felt so at home here.

The welcome package is full of everything! Set in a quiet village with lovely dog walks from the front door and 3 great pubs and a coffee shop attached to a hotel. We loved days exploring the village and the hills/moors nearby and walking the coastline which can be reached within a 30min drive. This location has so much to offer and the cottage is very well equipped and looked after with a very comfy sofa and bed to relax in after long days on your feet.

It was our third visit to the Parva, and it was an enjoyable stay, plentiful welcome hamper on arrival, including Victoria sponge cake, which was much appreciated.

The cottage as always was comfortable ,and well equipped. Our dog loved the walks around Great Broughton. We fell in love with every village we visited,it is an ideal base.Look forward to our next visit

A lovely quaint cottage with everything you need for a couple nights away.

The lovely log burner for the winter and a supply of games and a special hamper on arrival was the extra touch with a home baked cake by the owner. Only drawback was it was an unusually hot weekend and there was no wheee at the cottage to sit out. Plenty of pubs in walking distance. Would definitely come again. Thanks for a lovely weekend

Absolutely wonderful cottage.

The welcome gift pack was amazing, the cottage spotless and everything you might need for a stay had been thought of and provided. A good base for exploring the area. (Great Ayton, Stokesley, Roseberry Topping and the Cleveland Hills) The coast is within easy reach too.

It was very comfortable.

There was everything you could possibly need. The welcome pack and cake were an added bonus.

Perfect little cottage stayed 5 times, lovely treat basket and a yummy home made cake delicious, had some nice rides to Stoksley Marske and Saltburn and lots of walks by the stream over the road, the weather was kind all in all a lovely week Jane David and Buzz

Parva is a compact but delightful cottage, perfect for two.

It is well equipped and everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, especially the homemade Victoria sponge cake! The village of Great Broughton is ideal for a short stay, having a couple of pubs/ restaurants within easy walking distance. Caroline is a friendly and helpful host.

Our second visit to Parva Cottage, just as good as the first.

A great wee cottage, very clean and very well equipped.

The beds were very comfortable. The welcome pack was great and included a very tasty homemade cake. When we stayed in February on road parking was easy right outside the cottage. The cottage was ideally located for walks from the door and there was easy access to loads of additional walking in the Yorkshire Moors National park. Highly recommend.

A lovely, immaculately clean cottage, so many thanks for all the lovely attention to detail, everything you'd possibly need, left in such an organised manner, just couldn't ask for more.

A fabulous welcome pack, comfortable bed and furniture. The owner is so thoughtful, helpful and efficient, nothing is too much trouble. A very pleasant village, very good pubs, easy parking and cottage is situated for visiting many places.

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Parva.

It had been decorated beautifully for Christmas and was very warm and cosy to come back to after being out all day, walking and exploring. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The location is great and the local pubs and hotel all do very good food. The welcome hamper of goodies is the best we've ever received by a mile - including Christmas goodies too and a huge home made cake plus a Christmas present! Top marks to the owner - we will definitely be back!

A lovely, well located cottage, with everything you need for a cosy comfortable stay.

Real nice touches such as the welcome hamper and delicious home made cake. A place I have stayed before and will again.

Absolutely perfect.

Immaculate, cosy, beautifully furnished cottage. Lovely welcome pack from the owners. Quiet location, yet just a few minutes walk from some excellent pubs, and an ideal base for exploring the area.

Lovely compact cottage, everything there that you need.

Lovely welcome pack! Loved the home made Victoria sponge, thank you!! In ideal place for visiting all the lovely North Yorkshire market towns. Highly recommend ☺️

The cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped.

Thoughtful touches like a pint of milk in the fridge, a homemade cake, and other provisions were much appreciated and meant that, on arrival, one didn’t need to search one’s bag(s) of groceries for a teabag.!

Clean, comfy beds, nice bathroom.

Welcome pack was a nice touch!

Perfect in every way, love this cottage becoming one of our favourites, our second visit clean and cosy everything you could need lovely comfy bed, great welcome basket and lovely home made cake we definitely be back, set in a lovely village and close to Stoksley also spent time at Saltburn thank you Caroline.

Nice clean well equipped cottage cottage.

Enjoyed our stay.

Parva cottage had everything you needed and more .

It was very clean and comfortable. The owner left a welcome pack of goodies for us and our dog. Would recommend parva cottage to anyone looking to stay in this area .

Parva had everything we needed and was wonderful and cosy after being out walking all day.

It had all the charm of a traditional cottage with the conveniences and quality of care that we look for. It outshone a lot of places we have stayed in. The location is excellent proximity for amenities and days out without being right in the middle of a hectic town or city.

We really enjoyed our stay in this pretty little property.

Great Broughton is a lovely village, very convenient for Stokesley and the North York Moors. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly need and provided a delicious home baked cake and breakfast fare for our arrival. We have no hesitation in recommending Parva, thank you Caroline. 100%!

Spotlessly clean, well equipped, thoughtful extras provided by the owner including crumpets / tea cakes and a delicious home made cake, huge comfy bed, lovely village setting, great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

This a lovely, super clean and well maintained cottage.

We had a delightful week. The only small issue is the inability as a renter to control the heat. It is preset by the owner and as I am a very early riser, 4:30 to 5 am, I had no heat until 7am, which made it a little uncomfortable on cold mornings otherwise highly recommended. Nice surprises when you arrive as well.

A lovely property, with everything we needed.

A quiet location, but with good access to nearby towns and the moors.

Loved Parva!

Exceeded our expectations for cleanliness, comfort, warmest of welcomes and cosiness. Will definitely return. Thank you

The cottage was good and in a quite ocatipn the ony time there was a ot of traffic was when the school run began in the morning afternoon the rest of the time it was quite and at night it was very quite, the owner had thought of everything you needed for your stay, also the welcome pack was generous and the home baked cake was delicious and te king sized bed was very comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay at Parva, the cottage is small and no garden but everything needed was provided, it was spotlessly clean and lovely welcome basket of goodies.

Great Broughton is a nice friendly village. Staff at Jet Miners and The Black Swan were welcoming and both pubs are dog friendly. Thank you Caroline for a lovely stay

The perfect getaway place.

We love coming to stay at Parva Cottage, it is always so clean and high presented. Beautiful tasty baked goods upon arrived among other treats, Caroline is simply superb. A short drive and you can get out onto the hills and enjoy the fantastic scenery, and a few minutes drive and you can be in Stokesley where there are all the shops you require for essentials. We look forward to stay again very soon. Thank you for another amazing time at Parva Cottage.

Lovely.

cottage ideally situated for exploring Cleveland and North Yorkshire. Much appreciated generous welcome pack of essentials and beautiful home made cake! The property is compact but absolutely ideal for couples wanting to be out and about with a clean, warm, superbly equipped cottage to return home to. The village has a lovely stream side walk for an evening or morning stroll too. The owner leaves clear communication and the whole place was spotless and comfortable. We would definitely consider staying here again if in this area.

We had a lovely quiet stay at Parva cottage.

We gad everything we needed thanks to Caroline. The cottage is small but we had everything we needed. The log fire with starter basket of fuel was very handy and we bought further supplies from the Co-op. Once the fire was lit, it was very cosy. The huge bed was good to have. Lots of space! Thank you Caroline for the generous welcome pack of goodies. Especially the cake! Delicious

Thanks for a great stay again

Superb cottage set in a picturesque local where you can see the Cleveland Hills, of which are a short drive away.

The cottage is always perfectly presented, with an amazing baked goods upon arrival. The owner is exceptionally, always great communication and nothing is ever to much, with all.and any needs catered for. Thank you.

A wonderful cottage in a great location for North Yorkshire, Cleveland coast, or even Durham.

Really recommend Parva if you are a couple looking for somewhere to stay with your dog. We stayed here four nights and cottage has everything you need, plus a big co-op 2 miles away for any shopping, and lots of walkable pubs. We and our very long legged lurcher were made to feel very welcome. Thank you Caroline and Steve for a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage, comfortable and cosy.

Lovely comfortable cottage, with everything you need.

We enjoyed our stay at Parva; a comfortable, clean and well-equipped cottage.

A lovely, cosy and warm welcome when returning from days out exploring. Caroline thoughtfully supplied a hamper with essentials, some luxury snacks- and also a yummy homemade cake! Two very good pubs within walking distance of the cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Just loved this cottage, as soon as you walk in you feel at home, nice basket of treats and yummy home made cake, lovely walks at Great Broughton and Stoksley and great rides out to Markse and Saltburn definitely be back next year highly recommended this cottage just perfect.

A very pretty little cottage that was cosy, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped.

There was a lovely surprise as the welcome hamper far exceeded anything we have ever experienced before. We were able to enjoy our late break from this lovely cottage.

Fantastic cottage located within a beautiful and stunning countryside.

This is definitely a place to be returning too. Could not ask for a better host, Caroline is absolutely above and beyond, absolutely first class. Thank you.

Immaculately clean, well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a delightful village.

The apartment was a very good standard The part of Yorkshire is excellent for older peaple and jet miners are dog friendly and food is excellent.

Ps the double settee has past its sell by date

Everything that you could possibly want to make you feel welcome, right from the off, excellent communication from Caroline, ( the owner), as soon as you walk through the door you are met with a basket of treats, thoughtful touches, tea, coffee and milk, even treats for our little dog.

The jewel in the crown being a delicious homemade Victoria sponge cake. The cottage was lovely and clean and well equipped, everything was as described on the website. We would not hesitate to go back in the future, in fact we look forward to it. Thanks Caroline.

Initially the central heating didn’t come on at all as it seemed the weather wasn’t cold enough to activate it.

However we did unfortunately get a fair amount of rain and as the tumble dryer wasn’t working either there was no way of drying our damp clothes or even our bathroom towels. After a couple of days we contacted Caroline who immediately ensured the heating came on twice a day for this purpose for the remainder of our visit. The welcome hamper was amazing and very generous and we had a lovely stay at the cottage. We would have absolutely no hesitation in returning should we visit the area again.

Had a lovely break, cottage was perfect.

had everything you could need, and the bed was so comfy. Welcome basket was great, and the cake was superb- lovely kind thought. Thanku. And thanku for having us.

Parva is a beautiful cottage in a quiet attractive village setting.

The owner has provided everything you could ask for, plus thoughtful additions such as a very useful welcome pack of essentials and a delicious home made cake that was a very pleasant surprise. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Very clean, very comfortable, well decorated and well appointed.

I noticed in the comments book that the previous visitors had a dog with them and yet I did not find one dog hair in the cottage so it had obviously been thoroughly cleaned. I had a great week in Parva Cottage.

Perfect location for exploring the hills ,walks from the door and excellent food from the local pubs The cottage is beautiful , very clean, well equipped and all the little extras were much appreciated.

We would definitely recommend the cottage and plan to return in the warmer weather as we stayed in a wet and cold February.

Lovely cosy little cottage.

We loved it!! Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend

Really nice cottage, had a wonderful 3 night stay.

Parva at Great Broughton was a wonderful little cottage with all the home comforts you could ask for.

the welcome hamper and sponge cake was so lovely and made us feel very welcome indeed. The cottage is ideally located with Stokesley being the closest village. There is a tonne of walking in the area. Our 5-year-old collie had the time of his life. I would recommend this as a perfect destination if you wanted to explore North Yorkshire

Parva was "small but beautifully formed" and the welcome pack was more than generous.

Lovely to get a homemade Victoria sponge! Thank you

Welcome pack was superb and the cosy nights in with the wood burner were very relaxing.

The cottage whilst small is ideal for one or two people from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and all it has to offer.

The cottage itself was nicely presented, very clean throughout, and warm during my stay. A wood burning stove is available for colder days and nights but I didn’t need it. A comprehensive Welcome Basket awaited my arrival together with eggs, milk and a home made cake. The bed was very comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent. I would stay again if I’m in the area.

The cottage was very clean and tidy .

Had everything needed for a break. A perfect small cottage for 2 . Roadside parking was good too. Great budget 5 star cottage.

Parva cottage had everything you could possibly need.

It is the ideal location for visiting the countryside as well as the seaside. My only one comment would be that the two-seater settee became a little uncomfortable after a while. I did have to sit at the table a few times because of this. Perhaps two chairs would be a more comfortable option. Other than that, it was like a home from home. The welcome pack left was very good, bread, butter, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, jam and the home made Victoria sandwich was delicious. I had a very enjoyable stay and wouldn't hesitate to book Parva again.

The property is equipped to a high standard although the settee isn’t comfortable to sit on for too long.

The welcome pack is excellent with a delicious home made cake. The cottage is directly off the street and we did experience one person who came up to the window and stared in which was disconcerting.

The welcome pack was outstanding, and the location was lovely.

We settled at Parva and had a great holiday, despite inclement weather for most of the week. The Jet Miners pub in the village offered good food and friendly service.

Excellent welcome pack.

Great location - 3 pubs within easy walking distance; coast, towns and countryside all close by; and buses enable linear walks. An unexpected bonus during the heatwave was that the cottage stayed at a comfortable temperature even though it was in the 30s outside.

Parva cottage was great for a short break.

It was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was excellent and the surrounding area was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Parva was just perfect for the two of us.

Great Broughton is a lovely little village with two excellent pubs and easy access to the Cleveland Hills and the east coast. The cottage had everything we needed and was very well maintained and comfortable. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and was much appreciated.

Loved it.

Would definitely check availability here if we are in the area again. Clean, comfortably furnished and well equipped with everything we needed. The owner had clearly considered what they would like to find in a rental property and provided it. Very generous welcome pack which even included dog treats. The effort that the owner had put in to everything made us feel welcome. Location ideal for our needs. Very quiet & peaceful, nothing disturbed us in the night. 2 pubs in the village and another in next village a short walk away. About 2 miles to Stokesley for fresh food shopping. Convenient for some really good walks and days out.

Lovely cottage, great hamper, delicious sandwich cake.

Nice pubs nearby and beautiful countryside

This cottage was an absolute delight, beautifully clean, nicely decorated and furnished, comfortable and well equipped.

There was a great welcome hamper of essential food and the best Victoria Sponge we've ever tasted! Great Broughton Village is lovely and ideally located for the North Yorkshire towns of Stokesley, Thirsk, Northallerton, Helmsley, Whitby etc. the North Yorkshire Moors and the Coast. There with a few pubs within walking distance. We would highly recommend visiting the Cottage and the general area.

An extremely clean, well equipped, nicely furnished attractive cottage.

The owner is generous in providing more small extras than I expected. The cottage is in an attractive neighbourhood.

Could probably manage with a smaller dining table Would allow more heat off the radiator though may also give enough space for single comfy chair as well as the sofa.

We felt a little restricted trying to get comfortable in the evening Everything else was excellent and this didn’t detract from our stay Thank you Loved the cake .

Super little cottage.

Very comfortable bed. Wood burning stove welcome on chilly march evenings. I've never had a welcome hamper like it. Superb!

This cottage is lovely in a great location very comfortable and the welcome pack was a lovely touch

We had a fantastic time at parva cottage would highly recommend.

The cottage had the wow factor. Also when we arrived there was the most amazing hamper, and also treats for our dog. The Victoria sponge was so delicious. Thank you so much for our wonderful holiday..

Lovely cottage and appreciated the supply of basics bread, milk, eggs etc

We had a great stay at Parva, it’ was ideally situated for visiting relatives in Middlesbrough and local attractions in Helmsley, Saltburn-By-The-Sea and Whitby.

The welcome pack of goodies was excellent.

Beautiful cottage, every detail well thought out.

What a beautiful little dog friendly cottage.

We had a lovely break a home away from home. The basket of Christmas goodies was a lovely added touch and even the dog basket was a brilliant idea. The location was fantastic. The bed is fantastic super comfy and the area is quiet. I will definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a winter getaway as the log burner was brilliant. Our puppy loved his break away and certainly loved his basket of treats.

The cottage was amazing, more than met our expectations, the welcome packs left for us and the dog were a lovely added bonus, as was the cake.

Would definitely recommend this beautiful property, and we will certainly be looking to book again asap !

Had a lovely relaxing weekend away at the Parva cottage.

Cannot fault the cottage in any way! The little welcome package that was left for us with the essentials was a nice touch and the homemade cake was a delicious. Would gladly stay again, in fact we’re booking up again for the end of the month. Thanks Caroline

Lovely comfortable cottage in a good location.

Great welcome pack, home made cake was a nice touch. Dog enjoyed his welcome pack also. The cottage had everything you need for a great stay.
