“Parva is a beautiful cottage in a quiet attractive village setting.”

The owner has provided everything you could ask for, plus thoughtful additions such as a very useful welcome pack of essentials and a delicious home made cake that was a very pleasant surprise. We would stay here again without hesitation.

“Very clean, very comfortable, well decorated and well appointed.”

I noticed in the comments book that the previous visitors had a dog with them and yet I did not find one dog hair in the cottage so it had obviously been thoroughly cleaned. I had a great week in Parva Cottage.

“Perfect location for exploring the hills ,walks from the door and excellent food from the local pubs The cottage is beautiful , very clean, well equipped and all the little extras were much appreciated.”

We would definitely recommend the cottage and plan to return in the warmer weather as we stayed in a wet and cold February.

“Parva at Great Broughton was a wonderful little cottage with all the home comforts you could ask for.”

the welcome hamper and sponge cake was so lovely and made us feel very welcome indeed. The cottage is ideally located with Stokesley being the closest village. There is a tonne of walking in the area. Our 5-year-old collie had the time of his life. I would recommend this as a perfect destination if you wanted to explore North Yorkshire

“The cottage whilst small is ideal for one or two people from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and all it has to offer.”

The cottage itself was nicely presented, very clean throughout, and warm during my stay. A wood burning stove is available for colder days and nights but I didn’t need it. A comprehensive Welcome Basket awaited my arrival together with eggs, milk and a home made cake. The bed was very comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent. I would stay again if I’m in the area.

“Parva cottage had everything you could possibly need.”

It is the ideal location for visiting the countryside as well as the seaside. My only one comment would be that the two-seater settee became a little uncomfortable after a while. I did have to sit at the table a few times because of this. Perhaps two chairs would be a more comfortable option. Other than that, it was like a home from home. The welcome pack left was very good, bread, butter, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, jam and the home made Victoria sandwich was delicious. I had a very enjoyable stay and wouldn't hesitate to book Parva again.

The welcome pack is excellent with a delicious home made cake. The cottage is directly off the street and we did experience one person who came up to the window and stared in which was disconcerting.

Great location - 3 pubs within easy walking distance; coast, towns and countryside all close by; and buses enable linear walks. An unexpected bonus during the heatwave was that the cottage stayed at a comfortable temperature even though it was in the 30s outside.

Great Broughton is a lovely little village with two excellent pubs and easy access to the Cleveland Hills and the east coast. The cottage had everything we needed and was very well maintained and comfortable. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and was much appreciated.

Clean, comfortably furnished and well equipped with everything we needed. The owner had clearly considered what they would like to find in a rental property and provided it. Very generous welcome pack which even included dog treats. The effort that the owner had put in to everything made us feel welcome. Location ideal for our needs. Very quiet & peaceful, nothing disturbed us in the night. 2 pubs in the village and another in next village a short walk away. About 2 miles to Stokesley for fresh food shopping. Convenient for some really good walks and days out.

There was a great welcome hamper of essential food and the best Victoria Sponge we've ever tasted! Great Broughton Village is lovely and ideally located for the North Yorkshire towns of Stokesley, Thirsk, Northallerton, Helmsley, Whitby etc. the North Yorkshire Moors and the Coast. There with a few pubs within walking distance. We would highly recommend visiting the Cottage and the general area.

“What a beautiful little dog friendly cottage.”

We had a lovely break a home away from home. The basket of Christmas goodies was a lovely added touch and even the dog basket was a brilliant idea. The location was fantastic. The bed is fantastic super comfy and the area is quiet. I will definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a winter getaway as the log burner was brilliant. Our puppy loved his break away and certainly loved his basket of treats.

STOKESLEY

Great Ayton 3 miles; Saltburn-by-the–Sea 14 miles.

Stokesley is an attractive, elegant, historic market town which was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, with many interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. The River Leven flows through the town and is crossed by the ancient Pack Horse Bridge. Levenside provides visitors with a peaceful riverside walk, well planted with trees, as a contrast to the bustle of the High Street. The town has a distinguished wide cobbled main street lined with Georgian and Regency buildings. It is well served with shops, banks, public houses and restaurants and the weekly Friday markets are held on the main square. Just off the market square is the Church of St Peter & St Paul which has woodwork carved by the Mouseman of Kilburn. Surrounded by the Cleveland Hills and close to the northern edge of the North York Moors, Stokesley provides an ideal base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the heather clad North Yorkshire Moors and the pretty market towns of Great Ayton, Northallerton and Thirsk. The seaside spa resort of Saltburn is 30 mins drive away whilst Whitby, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are within easy reach.
