Holly Lodge

This is a fantastic place to stay if you are in Whitby or surrounding area.

It is luxury accommodation. There are a few small things that need dressing like extra glasses and cups. It was okay for two of us, but if there was more people than you are very short of crockery. I would recommend this place to anybody and if we are up there again, we will definitely be staying at Holly Lodge.

We had to cancel a few days before our 5-night holiday due to a seriously ill pet.

Property owner refused to allow us to move the date (to mid-November!), as they are entitled to do. This seems unreasonable in the circumstances and means we have lost over £600. Potential guests should bear this in mind.

This was our second visit to Holly Lodge and we will certainly be back.

The lodge itself was clean, light and comfortable. The site is quiet, and very well maintained. Our only issue was that there was no internet available all week, which mainly affected the range of channels on the TV.

Nice lodge very clean and on a well kept quiet site .

Great pub the Stables for food and drinks only a 5 minute stroll from the Lodge . Park and ride just across the road so no need to use your car every day.Will definitely return to Stag Lodges .

We absolutely loved our stay at Holly Lodge.

It was perfect for our stay, location was excellent, lodge was beautifully clean and well kept. Thoughtful touches like dishwashing items, loo rolls, tea and coffee items were great. Rarely do you arrive and it looks as good as the photos - Holly Lodge was better! Only points to improve would be some more glass drinks tumblers as there are only two, sharper knives for cooking and to replace the coat hooks in the laundry room that are missing as we did not have enough. These are minor tweaks that did not distract from the loveliness but would be wonderful to get right. We will definitely be back!

Holly Lodge was a lovely clean and very spacious property and will definitely return.

Very peaceful and relaxing environment never slept so well. Only a stones throw to the local restaurant and bar, also the park and ride across the road so no need to move your car just buy a ticket for the bus and within approx 5-10mins in the centre of Whitby. You can also walk in approx 35mins. Great base for exploring the coast.

On arrival it appeared as though there were a lot of long black hairs on the carpets.

We decided to hoover ourselves and empty the hoover. Not sure if the hoover needs replacing as it still didn’t seemed to do a thorough job. We also hoovered up on the day of departure. A few tweaks which we logged in the book in the kitchen. Shortage of tumbler glasses. The reed diffusers needed replacing (they were dry). Toilet seat in the en-suite needs tightening up. Light bulb was out over one of the beds in the twin room. Not enough coat hooks in the utility room. A set was in the cupboard but obviously hadn’t been put up. Washing machine cupboard door needs aligning. The above comments in no way detracted from our stay. My partner and his 2 granddaughters had a fabulous stay and we are already looking to book for our 3rd visit next August. We just feel that the cost of over £1k p.w that the small details we commented on do need addressing. It was also obvious from previous guests’ comments that the same issues were noted but not actioned. Again, just to reiterate that Holly Lodge is the perfect stay. The location for the Park n Ride into Whitby, The Stables Restaurant, the peace and quiet of the site are perfect and we will be returning.

Perfect position of this luxury lodge next to park and ride and the Stables Hotel with restaurant ,the lodge has all the amenities you would require with lovely large lounge the beds are very comfortable and bathrooms / or en-suite are great plus a unity room fully fitted if required, the most pleasing thing is the peaceful setting which is very welcome

Great lodge.

Beautiful surroundings, so convenient to reach local amenities and lical beaches. The standard of the lodges and grounds where exceptional and really hope that these high values are kept as the years roll by. I have already booked for next year.

Holly Lodge created a great first impression- it was very clean and in a gorgeous location.

The site is very peaceful and close enough to everything in Whitby. We used it as a base to visit the surrounding area and also used The Stables pub at the entrance to the site (which we would recommend).

We are a family of 5 that stayed 1 week.

Just a couple of things that wasn’t quite right but that didn’t ruin our holiday. Bathroom bins were not emptied and one had used sanitary towels. Only 1 bin bag supplied for a week stay. No hair dryer or dressing table chair. Other than those few things, we had a lovely stay, the grounds were well maintained and enjoyed seeing the hares, peacocks and the beautiful horse.

Overall, we had a lovely stay in this lodge for 6 people.

We paid £800 for 3 nights and expected 5* accommodation. Things that were good: • Dishcloth, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll were provided • Wine cooler • Biscuits, tea bags etc. • Comfortable beds • Lovely bathrooms with good showers Things not so good: • The coat hooks had clearly fallen off the wall in utility room and had been left in a cupboard so nowhere to hang wet coats • 6 people cannot eat a meal together as only cutlery for 5 people (and this had been pointed out in the housekeeping book going back to Aug 2025) • 6 people cannot have soft drinks as only 4 glasses • I had to clean cutlery drawer and cutlery tray as it was dirty • Thermostat instructions were incorrect, but also thermostat was not connected to boiler so didn’t work – this was rectified when I called it in but should have been working on arrival • Oven gloves would be useful when removing hot trays from the oven Things that could make the stay even better • Provide salt and pepper • A BBQ area – we saw neighbours using a disposable BBQ on the floor (we also took disposable BBQs but couldn’t use them • Hooks for the French doors as they just slam shut • Side tables in the living room as not everyone can reach the coffee table meaning drinks may be spilled if placed on the floor • A tv in the main bedroom • A dressing stool in the main bedroom

the lodge was lovely, great location a short walk from the park and ride, 5 quid for family day ticket into the usually chocka whitby town.

same distance to great pub at the stables, also cafe in garden center beside park and ride. loads of outside space for kids and dogs plus horses for kids to say hello to. well equipped kitchen with some cleaning materials left to use. a couple of niggles was only five knives for six people, could also do with a serrated bread knife. floors very creaky in bedroom corridor which in a quite confined space was annoying, doors were squeaky as well but had some wd40 in car so sorted that. main bedroom huge as was shower, which was one of the best we have had in any hotel or cottage we have stayed in, could have done with a bigger bed as there is plenty of room for it. loads of storage space but could do with a chair for the make up mirror. externally plenty of decking space with seating for 6, but could have done with a parasol as it was a really sunny few days, decking can also get slippy if wet and steps particularly could do with some rubber pads or something. parking was limited slightly as we had three cars and there was only gravel space for two, plenty of grass but not sure if that would be frowned upon? luckily next door plot was available so it wasnt an issue but if it was peak season it might be. all in all just a couple of small niggles but wouldnt hesitate to recommend the lodge and would deffo stay again in future.

Holly Lodge is a great new find for us!

A lovely, clean and well equipped property with a wonderful view over the fields to Whitby. The owner has thought of everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a welcome pack. The site itself is quiet and well kept. We didn’t really want to leave, and will be looking to book again in September.

Well looked after. Would like a few more furnishings - like lampshades, pictures, hooks on back of doors but it didn’t detract from a lovely property and holiday. Great location.

Holly Lodge in Whitby is an absolute gem.

We had the most wonderful stay, and the snowfall made it feel completely magical. The lodge itself is beautifully kept, warm, and welcoming, with everything you need for a cosy break. Waking up to quiet, snowy views over Whitby was something really special. It’s in a perfect location too – peaceful, but still close enough to enjoy everything the area has to offer. The little touches around the lodge made it feel like a real home-from-home, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into making it a relaxing place to stay. Overall, a truly fantastic experience. I’d go back in a heartbeat and would recommend Holly Lodge to anyone wanting a memorable stay in Whitby, especially if you’re lucky enough to catch it in the snow.

A first class property, in a beautiful location, ideal for access to Whitby.

Will certainly be looking to visit again.

Lovely spacious lodge in a great location near Whitby.

Loved the gates that were closed at night making the site feel very safe. Generally very quiet on the site which was great. However there were workmen there on times due to site not being finished. Would be good to know that workmen are likely to be on site at times prior to booking.

Holly Lodge is in a very lovely part of Yorkshire The lodge is set on open fields with lots of open space.

The lodge itself is very spacious and in a nice position with local facilities nearby The interior of the lodge is very good nice kitchen two good sized bathrooms Three bedrooms all good size. The only down side for me was the mattress in the en-suite room was very uncomfortable. But would definitely recommend stag lodges a great place to stay

Fabulous accommodation it had everything we needed, lots of storage & well kitted out kitchen.

Very modern & clean. It was also great set up for our dog too, nice & secure for him and plenty of grass around. We were that happy with our short break that have booked again but staying longer

In a great location to visit the surrounding areas of Whitby. We will definitely be back next year to visit the areas we didn’t have time to do this year. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Holly lodge is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay.

It is clean, beautifully decorated and there is plenty space and storage for everyone. It is a couple of minutes walk to the nearest pub/restaurant which served lovely food. The park and ride is also with in walking distance.

The lodge wants for nothing. We will have no problem with recommending holly lodge to everyone.

...... HOWEVER - some blackout curtains in the bedrooms would have made our stay absolutely perfect, not a fan of waking every morning, while on holiday with daylight flooding the bedroom. Regards Pete, Pam & Max the dog

Beautiful accommodation.

We have loved our stay. House keeping folder is misleading. Stating cushions for outside furniture kept in the walk in wardrobe. After a full search no cushions found. It also had instructions on a hot tub. I rang the contact number which was answered immediately. ( I did not want anyone to think we had taken to the cushions ) I was informed the information had been copied and pasted. It was not relevant to Holly lodge.

A wonderful lodge, a great stay and definitely somewhere we will recommend and return.

In a fantastic location, the lodge is comfortable and clean. Although there were a couple of things that didn’t quite make sense (the welcome info talks about a hot tub but we were not expecting one/ there isn’t one!) we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the lodge. It felt quite new in many ways. A couple of things to note - no cushions for outside seating? welcome manual said they were in a wardrobe but sadly not, the vanity in the main bedroom could do with a stool; sitting on the bed to do things was fine but quite far away from mirror and also the internet is very intermittent, Smart TV just wouldn’t connect to any of the apps ie Netflix/Iplayer. That’s just being picky and things we definitely can manage without really. It didn’t take anything away from our break and enjoyment of Holly Lodge.

Beautiful countryside location just 5 minute drive from Whitby, Holly Lodge is a lovely place to stay.

The lodge is finished to a high standard and has excellent wifi too. Was disappointed that there was no hairdryer supplied as we didn’t take one with us. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay there again.
