Fabulous location.

A really nice touch was home made cakes on a tea tray when we arrived, great after a long journey. Friendly hosts, Pippa, we didn’t meet was so nice and told us about local walks and interesting places to check out. And made us feel really welcome on their farm. The cottage was adorable, clean, very cosy, warm and comfortable. Amenities were great. We would definitely go back.

What a lovely little cottage, very homely and cosy with some nice quirky features like the arrow loop windows and the clever use of space.

We arrived in the snow after a long drive from Cornwall and were welcomed by Graham, one of the owners (spade in hand) and a lovely warm cottage with tea and cakes awaiting - thank you, they were great. Due to the weather we spent more time cosied up at the cottage than we'd have expected and really appreciated the comprehensive cooking facilities, especially the top quality kitchen knives which are a rarity in holiday accommodation. We loved the birds flitting back and forth outside the door and the wonderful views across the valley, especially beautiful with its blanket of snow. And talking of blankets, the best bit - THE most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Gorgeous cottage in a peaceful spot very cosy.

It had all the things you would need. The hosts made us feel us feel very welcome with a special touch of prosecco, cakes for us all and chocolate santas for my children. The cottage is on a farm so kids could see the ponies, sheep and highland cows. It was the perfect getaway would definitely go back. Could not fault the place hosts were friendly and available for any support we needed during our stay. Also had a Christmas tree and decorations that made it feel special.

Great walks from the door and plenty to see and do without travelling far. Welcome pack was much appreciated and Pippa was very helpful with information when we arrived.

A comfortable cosy cottage in the perfect quiet location to explore the coast and surrounding countryside.

Our two teenagers didn't mind the low ceilings in their rooms. Beds were super comfy. The owners were friendly and helpful, giving us tips on where to park away from the more well known areas. A very relaxing break. Woud highly recommend.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this well-appointed cottage.

It has everything you would need for a comfortable stay surrounded by peaceful landscape. Being located half way between Whitby and Scarborough makes it an ideal base for exploring the stunning coastline, yet able to return to the tranquil cottage. We explored Robin Hood’s Bay, Bempton Cliffs, Filey Beach and Ravenscar. The owners are very accommodating and gave great recommendations of places to eat and visit. Already booked to return next year, thank you both for a lovely stay. Even our little dog enjoyed the walks on the lovely grounds.

Such a lovely cosy property in a beautiful location.

The hosts were very friendly and the cake on arrival was a fabulous touch. The cottage was comfortable, clean and really well sticked with all you would need in the kitchen. We visited ravenscar, Scarborough and robin hoods bay and the cottage was a great base, not far from where you want to be but far enough to not be in the thick of it to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We would stay again and recommend to friends

What a beautiful cottage in a wonderful quiet location. Embrace the fact it’s an old beamed building. Everything you need is there. Great walks on your doorstep, and the coast so close. Graham is so friendly, chilled and knowledgeable. My dog loved playing with Ruby. I felt so relaxed and safe (single woman travelling on her own) which is so important. A little bit of heaven. Would highly recommend a stay. I will definitely be back.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location.

We were made to feel so welcome on arrival. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were extremely friendly, very helpful and only too pleased to offer advice on best walks, sites to see, local pubs etc. Easy access to miles of walks through the Yorkshire countryside. Seldom do we switch off as much as we did here.

A very clean, well equipped and comfortable little cottage, which was ideal for 2 adults and a medium size dog.

Large secure exercise area for dog but not immediately outside the cottage so had to be accompanied for any outside exercise. Would certainly consider returning again if holidaying in the area.

The warm welcome touches were much appreciated. The cottage had everything we needed for the week and more. I think the cottage was even nicer in person than the pictures and we couldn't have asked for anything more. It was lovely to sit outside and eat breakfast/have a coffee in the morning and take in the beautiful surroundings. My son loved taking a walk to see the sheep and we saw a few hares running around. He didn't want to leave and he wants to go back to honey bee cottage soon.

The cottage was in a secluded place away from the main road , making it very peaceful and despite being a mid terrace cottage , we could not hear any neighbours.

It was well equipped, comfortable bed , and furnishings and had all the normal kitchen facilities .There was a fenced paddock field around the back where the dog could run freely , she absolutely loved that space. Nice landlords , welcoming and helpful.Location of the cottage is not too far from all the accessible beaches and towns to visit , and dog friendly pubs are close within 10 miles and great food served in all.It was better than expected , and we loved our short break at Honey Bee , would recommend to others who want to get away from the hustle and bustle .

Wonderful and cosy cottage set in a beautiful spot - over looking a valley and woodlands to one side and the other side to open fields and meadows.

Just 100 yards up the Drive to views of the sea. All decorated and maintained to a high standard. Excellent internet connection. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds.

Comfortable and cosy and very well equipped. Despite the fact that we visited in late April the log burner was particularly welcome. We would happily pay another visit.

An absolute delight to stay in.

Honeybee Cottage was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had the most enjoyable stay and would love to come back.

Lovely little cottage, small on the inside but provides all that we could need for a short stay.

The ceilings upstairs are quite low but this is to be expected. Very warm and cosy, the beds and sofas were also comfortable. Would suit a small family and I would recommend to family and friends.

It was a beautiful location.

The cottage was picture postcard pretty and very well appointed. The field adjacent to the cottage was the perfect place for exercising your dog. A wonderful cottage with excellent hosts in a beautiful part of the world!

All I can say is what a wonderful place to stay, we love the place.

Perfect location great views, quite and peaceful. Some great places to eat and relax in the evening. Walking the moors is always a fantastic experience. Carn't wait to come back.

We loved it, the cottage was small but perfectly equipped.

The hosts Pippa and Graham were helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Delicious cakes were provided for our arrival and little touches like bubble bath made it feel special. The Honey Bee cottage is well equipped but not cluttered. The grounds were incredible, with beautiful views in every direction. It was a perfect escape from the city hustle and bustle with peace and solitude, the perfect tonic. I miss the deer and rabbits and the seals. The waterfalls were beautiful and we loved Robin Hoods Bay which was a easy drive. I dont like to go the same place twice, but I would go back to this cottage right now, if I could.

We had a really lovely stay at Honey Bee Cottage.

Stunning location, dog-friendly, local walks from the door and perfect for exploring the Yorkshire coast and dales. Hosts are friendly and welcoming. Cottage is small but cosy, and doesn’t feel cramped. Lovely shared garden with lots of nooks and crannies: the spring flowers were stunning! Beware the low beams if you are tall (and even if you’re not tall!). As others have said, the kitchen tap takes a bit of getting used to!! You do have to hunt around to find things as there are little cupboards tucked away in nooks and crannies: the hoover is a hand held cordless one and lives in the bathroom cupboard. The washing machine is under the stairs. Staintondale is very pretty and there is an honesty shop selling eggs and another selling logs. There are lots of pubs in the area but you will need to drive or be prepared for a long walk.

The standard of the property was very good. We'll be back.

From the moment we drive into the village, down the access road, saw the ponies and sheep and set foot into the cottage we knew we had made a mistake……….

.a 3 night mini break would not be enough to enjoy this beautiful cottage, grounds and surrounding locations. For us, the cottage was in a great location, pretty central to many of the places we wanted to visit. Being able to get up close to the beautiful sheep was special and the two boys took an instant liking to our very friendly (and cowardly!) fluffy JRT, following him around. The highland cattle were an amazing sight too. The cottage had everything that we could have possibly needed and was very thoughtfully set out. We still hadn’t got used to the kitchen taps by the time we’d left though, as they turned the opposite way to what we are used to, so we frequently got a surprise dosing, but this wasn’t an issue. The owners, Graham and Pippa are very helpful and friendly with their local knowledge. We are hoping to be able to return for a longer visit next year to this amazing cottage in its idyllic setting. Thank you to Graham and Pippa!

Honey bee cottage is a gem, fantastic cosy little cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Very well equipped and very comfortable. Single bedrooms maybe small but in my opinion fine for this adult of average height

If you want a quaint country cottage then this is the one for you.

It is smaller than it looks in the photos. Well equipped to a very high standard. Pippa and Graham the owners very helpful with routes for walking etc and good pubs. Area outstanding, very quiet and some beautiful walks. Not keen on sharing garden so close to next door but did not affect us as we were out most of the time. Could be an issue for some people in summer. All in all good holiday thanks for the lovely cakes on arrival and milk in fridge and teabags etc. Very welcome

Our hosts were pleasant and informative.

The cottage was all you would expect; Quaint, cosy, and comfortable. The location was fabulous. The double bedroom had a skylight above the bed where you could see a sky absolutely full of stars. Saw a shooting star, and a satellite, gliding past. If you’re looking for a break away from this mad world of ours. This is the place.

We had a great stay at Honeybee cottage, has described, it's a small but very cosy cottage, in a fabulous location, an addition of a hoover would have been useful to keep the cottage tidier, we had a very enjoyable time.

It is a lovely place and convenient for Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby. The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable, clean and quiet. The location is peaceful, picturesque and convenient. Would highly recommend.

Finding the place was extremely bad .

Postcode takes you to the edge of the village nowhere near the property . The main Farm is hard enough to find and then on arrival just a pebble with the name of the cottage . Arriving dusk as well it was extremely hard to find . Also I think lighting should be arranged has it’s a very uneven path with steps . I know it’s only a small cottage unfortunately our 3rd person couldn’t come because of illness . Although the single rooms would of been way to small fro comfort for her . I also feel that having such a lovely log burning stove ( which we lit and enjoyed ) .. the furniture could be a little more comfortable for chilling out Other than that it was an enjoyable stay .

This is a wonderful location, peaceful with beautiful gardens and views.

The cottage is very clean and well equipped with good internet. The owner who lives near the property is friendly and helpful. I have three criticisms - the cottage is much smaller than it appears in the photographs, there is a cottage right next door and this was not clear in the description and the kitchen sink taps spray you with water if not turned on gently! Apart from these three things our holiday was brilliant. There was not a problem with Our very near neighbours who were very pleasant !

Honey Bee Cottage is absolutely beautiful.

The location is stunning with breathtaking views into the valley. There are numerous walks within minutes that will take you through the local countryside and this is something you will definitely want to do! You will also find yourself very close to the sea with many beaches nearby so you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to looking for things to do. The cottage itself is extremely cozy, clean and well presented. We didn’t want to leave but, alas, we had to return home to working life- but we will definitely return to Honeybee Cottage in the future! Pippa was a wonderful host who was ready to help if we needed anything and we are truly grateful for her hospitality. 10/10 stars! Kind regards Ricky, Simon & Deanne

The cottage was absolutely amazing.

We like it from the first moment that we saw it in the pictures.It was clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped.The garden was beautiful and the farm outside was lovely for kids.It really made you feel like home.The location was very good.We managed to see many nearby villages like Scarborough,Whitby,Staithes. We are glad that we chose it.We enjoyed this holiday to the maximum.

This is our second time at Honeybee Cottage and it was just as lovely as we remembered.

We took our puppy with us and he was made very welcome. There was a large field for him to run on and we found lots of lovely local walks. Easy to get to Scarborough and Whitby and a lovely spot to enjoy the sea view. Highly recommended.

My young boys loved the fact that there were so many animals to look at on the farm. They were very pleased we had seen some deer in the fields on our last morning! The cottage is smaller than the photos on Sykes suggest - but we still loved it.

We loved our stay at Honey Bee Cottage, so beautiful and tranquil.

The beds were so comfy and with no light or noise it was a very peaceful week, even with my two teenage children! The wifi strength was more that enough to support their needs so we all had a very relaxing week. The owners of the cottage were so welcoming and friendly and gave us some great tips on dog walkers and where to park our car when we went into Whitby. Would highly recommend.

We spent a lovely week in Honey Bee Cottage exploring the North Yorkshire sights - especially the seal colony at Ravenscar and Whitby.

The cottage is compact but as there was only the 2 of us it didn’t feel cramped. Even though it is listed in the description & by other guests, we did miss the lack of outside private seating. The cottage facilities are excellent and the owners very friendly. The welcome tray of tea/coffee, biscuits and milk in the fridge was very much appreciated after a long drive!

We spent a lovely long weekend my sister and our very elderly mother and it was such a tonic for my mu so peaceful and comfortable ,the views are amazing and yet not far from local facilities.

We had a really good week here.

The only little down sides were that the Tassimo coffee machine wasn’t clean inside and the outside seating area was in front of another cottage so you felt like you were invading their privacy. The cottage was great though and the views were really nice with great facilities including a dishwasher and washing machine, we used both. We did use the Tassimo too, having cleaned it ourselves, and there is a nice log burner for a cold evening. We would go back here and really enjoyed our stay.

Cottage was lovely ,compact ,but this was stated in the description so did not come as a surprise , in a stunning location and with the added bonus of a large dog friendly paddock to tire out our four legged friend .

Our hosts were great , and full of info about the surrounding area which they were more than happy to share . No complaints in regards to facilities , and there has obviously been no skimping when it comes to the appliances etc .Would definitely go back and whole heartedly recommend .

We stayed for 7 nights at Honey Bee Cottage and had a fantastic time.

The cottage is cosy but with two young boys, was ideal for us. Everything inside the cottage is of a high spec, we were not expecting this. You have everything you could need for a home away from home and the surrounding area is wonderful! Our children played together in the garden, grassed areas and fields near by and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the resident cows and ponies. The location is perfect for days out to Scarborough and Whitby but you can also walk straight from the cottage through beautiful scenery - we walked to Ravenscar tea rooms and enjoyed a cream tea while overlooking the sea before heading down to seal beach - a must see! I cannot fault Honey Bee Cottage and hope to visit again in the future :-)

Honey Bee cottage was such a charming find.

We found the cottage to be very clean and had all the facilities you could wish for. We especially enjoyed the log burner! Great position for access to all coastal walks and the views were amazing. Without a doubt we will be back.

Great location, halfway between Scarborough and Whitby, with easy access to the Yorkshire Moors.

Cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway or as a base to go off exploring the local area. The owners were always on hand to offer advice on what to visit, best places to eat etc. Highly recommended and i would go again.

A very characterable and cosy barn conversion that has been fitted out and equipped to a high standard with all you need for a comfortable and refreshing break.

Fantastic cottage with attention to detail for a perfect stay right down to the tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival.

Great location for anyone wanting the peace and quiet of this beautiful area, yet near to some good local attractions. Lovely walking routes for us and our faithful hound all close at hand with opportunities for bird watching on the door step. We saw Merlin and Siskin during our stay but the owl eluded us!! A perfect choice whatever the weather from sitting in front of a cosy fire on those chilly days or sitting out in the landscaped garden with wonderful views in the sunshine. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you.

The cottage was beautiful, extremely clean with every thing we needed.

There was milk tea coffee and biscuits left for us on a tray when we arrived . The cottage is in a idyllic setting and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

This was our 3rd visit to Honey Bee Cottage so we knew what to expect.

The Cottage is immaculately clean with every facility you could need; the kitchen is quite small but perfectly adequate. I think there is ample room for say, a family of four, although we only travelled as a couple. We saw the owners, Pippa and Graham, only briefly and they are lovely but we didn't have any need to bother them for anything The Cottage is set in a beautiful location and we hope to return one day.

The cottage was fantastic and the owners were lovely.

Everywhere we wanted to go was in close proximity to the cottage so we didn't have to drive to far. It was great that we were able to take the dog with us and the owners also have a lovely dog called Ginney. We are hoping to go back next year.

The owner pippa and her husband made us most welcome.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable warm. The ground's we're very good for the dog's to wander without getting out. The cottage was well placed for visiting other part's of the coastline.

We had a lovely weekend in Honey Bee Cottage.

It was just as it said it was and it had everything we needed. The cottage was so pretty and the views were breathtaking and extremely beautiful. On our journey home we chatted about when we could come again. We will definitely rebook and I’m looking forward to it already.

My two dogs enjoyed the holiday very much.

They were able to relax outside in a way they can’t at home. Lots of good walks in the area, great scenery. Property was fine, though being tall and staying in an old cottage built for a smaller generation has its problems. Bumped my head numerous times and had to walk around like Quasimodo. Owners living on site were lovely and extremely helpful. Only real drawback for me was the poor broadband connection. I used up all my month’s data in four days. A small price to pay however.

Honey Bee cottage is a hidden gem, beautifully kept, immaculately clean and with everything you could possibly need.

The cottage has gorgeous views from the front door, even the drive leading up to Honey Bee is a pleasure, very well kept and was lined with daffodils on our visit. The owners and their dog were lovely and very welcoming, definitely will return very soon!

Beautiful cottage in a rural/coastal location.

Facilities covered all our needs and a log burning stove in the living area was the icing on the cake especially with the snow over the weekend. Excellent local walks and Whitby and Scarborough just on the door step. We will return soon.

This was the most wonderful cottage we have ever stayed in.

It absolutely oozes charm and character and I loved the small children's bedrooms, how cute. The owners had thought of everything and we wanted for nothing during our stay. The log burner just added to the cost charm of this cottage making every evening cosy. The location was perfect for visiting the coast and the walks were fantastic. Thank you to Pippa and Graham (and of course Ginny the dog), the bottle of Prosecco for New Years Eve was also a wonderful pleasant surprise. We will be visiting again .
