    “This is a lovely, warm, well equipped, and clean cottage in a very convenient situation and with sea views from upstairs.”

    We really enjoyed our stay. Setbacks for me personally was I found the king size bed uncomfortable even with a mattress topper (though it didn't seem to affect my husband), and I was concerned about the clear window in the bathroom. Even with the blind down there were gaps at the side and with the toilet being right next to it it did feel a bit exposed. Maybe some coloured/patterned film over the glass might help? The front of the house needed some simple tlc as well with liner and pebbles ...

We were very grateful though to get the back garden cut while we were there. The niggles are very personal so we have still given the property 5 stars.

The property

Ground Floor The accommodation has beach-inspired decor with a glorious beamed sitting room with comfortable seating, a bay window, the wood burning stove and TV/DVD.

The hallway also leads to a lovely dining room which seats up to five people, ideal for enjoying a family breakfast or discussing the day's adventures over dinner - and overlooks the rear garden. The kitchen with it's original Yorkshire stone floors is well-equipped, it has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave, plus a built-in wine rack and a washing machine and dryer.

It is open plan with the dining room, so you can keep the cook company!

The kitchen leads to the to the small garden. First Floor On the first floor there are two bedrooms.

To the front is a good-size family bedroom with double bed and a single bed.

The master bedroom has sea views and a 6' super king bed. There is an immaculate house bathroom tiled in quality white and blue Delft tiles with a bath, shower over, WC and hand wash basin plus an electric shaver socket in-built into the over-basin mirror. Outside Outside is a small garden with planted borders and shrubs and plants plus a flagged terrace with a table and chairs – enjoy the first cuppa of the morning and enjoy the view or a nightcap under the stars!

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!
