“The property is lovely and clean.”

It had the essentials in the kitchen, if you want to make something quick and easy... We were there for 5 nights and it was the perfect location to get to York, Scarborough and Whitby. The people on the site are all so lovely, friendly and willing to help. The only thing I would say is that the pub that is on site is cash only, and we wasnt aware of that before we went... also it might be handy to pop some local takeaway flyers in the room.

“Chalet was as described.”

..everything we needed.....the hot tub area was very dirty as was the hot tub...when turned on there was a dirty scum on the water....there was cob webs in every corner....the decking and furniture was very dirty, it clearly had not been cleaned prior to us arriving ..part of the decking looked like there had been a fire....it would take no time to jet wash the hot tub area after guests leave

.the staff we met were so welcoming and could not do enough to help Steph the chalet and park cleaner is just so nice do absolutely anything to make your stay better .. frank runs the bar and as a ex landlord I can tell you is beer

“Fabulous we will be back .”

Just a suggestion by no means criticism would be useful to sell a few bits of necessities in the reception or bar . Tea cofee milk bits for breakfast etc Some drinks and bicuits were provided. Hot tub amazing.

“We thought it was absolutely fab, well positioned for Malton and Scarborough for us (though approx 15 mins away from closest town/ Malton so not central if that’s your preference).”

Hot water in shower did run out quick for 2 showers but didn’t cause an issue. Lovely chalet and lovely people on the site. Amenities in kitchen limited but everything you need. Would stay again. Bring cash for the pub on site!!

Hole in shower wall. Gap under front door that lets light and draught through. Fridge noisy. Overall brilliant stay. Very clean and tidy. Hot tub amazing. And set up of private space very good. We will be back, can’t wait!

“Not enough cooking facilities or tableware.”

No teapot!. Very basic facilities. As self catering would expect to have a couple of hobs for cooking. Cooked breakfast is a must on holiday. Area beautiful but site too isolated for us. Hot tub nice. Would not book again.

“The property is very nice, small as its like a large hotel room with kitchenette, fridge but no stove.”

There is an air fryer but its a small one basket. There is a microwave but its only 700w so you have to judge your times if using for a ready meal. The room was clean and you are guven washing up items as well as towels and bedding. The hot tub was a lovely addition. It was clean, hot and private. Only draw backs are the flies! They were everywhere! And there is no food facilities near by so you need to travel quite a distance for a supermarket or restaurant. The location is actually great for visiting Scarborough beaches, Filey and York all well within 45 min or less and lots to do like Castle Howard! I'd recommend. It was lovely going out and coming back and relaxing in the hot tub. The only thing missing is a bbq area for this chalet. It is a peaceful area and quiet. I would visit again.

“Great stay we thoroughly enjoyed it, everything that was in the room was perfect!”

It was cool in there considering how hot it has been over the week! The hot tub was fantastic, it was private but also everyone was so friendly! It was so nice it being so dog friendly Albert loved it! Ideal location quiet but not far from places, WiFi was a great addition, the towels and robes were fantastic! Will definitely stay again!

2 nights out off the 4 night I didn't sleep due to the mattress feeling like i eas sleeping on concrete but had to wait for them to unbox and let the new mattress expand for the 3rd night I suffered with back pain after my car crash I was a victim to but my back has been doing well but boy I suffered it was my partners birthday on the 29th so I felt that bad I booked the windmill in Scarborough for am extra 2 nights so my partner c o old enjoy some off the getaway I could go on but what's the point last time I came here I never had a bad work to say but this time left us speechless

Loved the hot tub area. Going forwards perhaps add a hairdryer and an extra two towels for the hot tub. The fridge was a little on the small side too, however I had read the reviews before and knew not to bring too many chilled items due to this. All in all, nice little place and would definitely return.

“Me, my partner and our dog had a lovely stay!”

We got out of the stay exactly what we were looking for. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, everyone spoke to us and we even joined in playing pool and darts. If I’m honest we stopped in a chalet and we both agreed we’d come back to the site but stop in a caravan next time. The chalets are nice but they do lack cooking facilities and a bit more space when you have a pet too. It was not very warm and we did struggle to dry our clothes, however it was March and poor weather. Could not fault the bed and the comfort of the mattress 10/10. The shower was lovely and the hot tub beautiful. Lovely touch having the robes provided too. We made some great friends in the bar and they made our stay! It’s a lovely base for visiting local areas, we went to Scarborough, Whitby and Filey during our stay. There is also great walks from the site, which we loved and made the most of. Thank you Snooty Fox, we will hopefully see you again soon.

“It was a fantastic weekend only downside was one of the hot tubs kept turning itself on and off during the night but other then that everything was spot on.”

The dressing gowns were a welcomed touch after enjoyjng the hot tub. We had everything we needed and everything was same as the description. Can't fault the cleanliness of the chalet you could literally smell how clean it was when you walked in. The air fryer was also a really good addition it meant we could make small meals however we didn't know this prior so should add this into the description. We will definitely be returning.

“Very basic facilities.”

No oven to cook anything, lots of flies everywhere and bugs. The room was just to say clean. No pub open whilst we were there so if it wasn’t for the hot tub we would have come home early. No bins to put rubbish in so we had to bring the rubbish back home. Would not stay here again as it’s not worth the money.

Facilities including pub opening days/times are as stated when booking! We advertise as a rural setting and as such surrounded by farmland, on inspection of the Chalet following your visit we couldn't find anything which would suggest an insect issue. Each Chalet is issued with an information folder which can be found on the table as you enter the property, this details all park information including where bins can be located, the pack also recommends local places to go & local dining/takeaway information. “We loved our stay here and loved our Own private hot tub had what we needed here, we don't drive but was local bus stops to Malton or Scarborough whichever way you wanted to go.”

Lovely remote quiet place, it's a shame the onsite bar wasn't open in the week though especially with it been holiday season, our only issue was with the bugs need more to try and keep them at bay, I know it can't be helped by being surrounded by farmland but some bug zappers or something nearby to help keep them down but other than that was a brilliant stay would highly recommend

“Really did not like our stay.”

The area and location was really rubbish. The fridge stank. There was no eating places for vegetation options, had to drive around 20 minutes just to find food. The best thing was the hot tub, which you have to turn off at 10pm.

It wasn't dog friendly in my opinion, yes there are some fabulous walks for dogs very close by but threw the night if the dog needed a wee u have to take them on there leads to the field as there is no enclosed area for them to do there business. The mattress is in need of being changed, it's very lumpy. The fridge had a horrible smell in it but could also do with being bigger so u can have at least a jug of milk and some snacks in it. There should be information that the pub onsite is cash only and only open 3 days a week. On the other hand the people in the pub made us feel incredibly welcome and when I didn't have cash they let me pay the following day. Also the cleaners were so friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for us.

The hot tub was brilliant and we miss it already. Greated by a lovely lady,(sorry didn't catch her name) in reception. Very clean and tidy. Due to the location of the park a standard fridge is definitely needed as there wasn't enough room to store food or drinks that needed to be kept cold and the you don't want to be travelling to shops all the time . The fridge that is there doesn't even store a 2 pint of milk and the smell from the fridge was awful. I put a punnet of strawberries in and couldn't eat them as they tasted how the fridge smelt.

only thing is that the electric went off for around two hours meaning the hot tub wasn't working and obviously no electronics were working either, this also included the hot water for the shower which was freezing cold from Saturday afternoon until the Sunday when we left.

Reception lady (didn’t get her name, sorry!) was lovely and told us of plans to add more privacy by adding greenery to the fencing around the hot tubs, but we had no issues with privacy. Wi-Fi would have been good but certainly not a dealbreaker as really we were there to get away from all of that!

! The lack of cooking facilities and fridge space was a struggle with the supermarket 30 mins away. I understand we were made aware of this prior to booking so we came prepared! The chalet not having WiFi is also something that could easily be provided. There wasn't much close to us but we enjoyed being able to drive to various different places throughout our stay! More information on how the jacuzzi works would be great as we struggled to get the temperature above 36 and also couldn't figure out how to turn it off as it would be 3am and we could hear the loud hum of the jacuzzi. There seemed to be a bar onsite which we saw open once, we would have liked to have more information on this as well so we knew when it was open as we would have liked to visit. Thank you!

SHERBURN

Filey 11.2 miles; Scarborough 11.4 miles; York 30.4 miles.

Sherburn is a village and civil parish lying in the county of North Yorkshire, although historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. Sherburn rests on the south side of the Vale of Pickering and is immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds, as well as within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park to the north. Offering a great base for outdoor adventures throughout the North Yorkshire countryside, Sherburn is also not too far from Scarborough and Filey. The village is home to a Post Office, a pub, a convenience store and a newsagents, with a handful of other local businesses too.
