    “We found Crabtree Cottage to be in a peaceful, rural setting, which benefits from stunning rolling countryside views yet conveniently located just 10 minutes from a large supermarket with excellent access to Scarborough, Whitby, and Robin Hood’s Bay.”

    The cottage is well-equipped throughout, featuring a high-spec kitchen with everything you could need and a comfortable living space with a Smart TV and very good Wifi. The bedroom is particularly spacious, offering ample storage and a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom has a generously sized shower and excellent water pressure. The bathroom would benefit from a lick of paint, rather than patch work repairs - however for property owners to do this we understand it means reducing the ...

    The cottage is well-equipped throughout, featuring a high-spec kitchen with everything you could need and a comfortable living space with a Smart TV and very good Wifi. The bedroom is particularly spacious, offering ample storage and a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom has a generously sized shower and excellent water pressure. The bathroom would benefit from a lick of paint, rather than patch work repairs - however for property owners to do this we understand it means reducing the availability of the property for these works to be carried out and we felt that the current appearance of the property was reflected in the price paid. The outside courtyard is extremely private and not overlooked. The covered hot tub is in excellent condition, with powerful jets and an impressive lighting system. A minor criticism would be that the hot tub area could benefit from additional lighting, particularly under the covered area and a more accessible way for less able guests to remove and replace the hot tub lid. Being situated on a working farm, there is a typical rocky/bumpy access road to the property. Despite this, we were never disturbed by farm operations, staff, or animals, though it was reassuring to know help was nearby if needed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was affordable and had everything we needed. We look forward to returning to Crabtree Cottage as we still have more of the surrounding area to explore.

Situated in a picturesque part of the North York Moors National Park and a scenic drive away from the coast is this barn conversion, Crabtree Cottage.

This all-ground-floor holiday accommodation is the perfect cottage for a romantic getaway, to explore the best of Yorkshire’s coast and countryside, whatever the weather!

Soak up your rural surroundings before making your way into the contemporary cottage, boasting a welcoming open-plan living area.

The kitchen comes equipped to cater a delicious local delicacy, as well as plenty of space to pack a picnic for the next day’s day at the beach.

Settle down with your meal at the sleek breakfast bar to spend quality time with your loved one before relaxing into your evening within the sitting area.

Flick on the electric fire and tune into the TV, or get lost within a good book, whilst the exposed beams frame the room and fill the room with a sense of character.

Concluding the interior is a spacious double bedroom, with plenty of room for you to prepare for the day and to store your holiday things.

Of an evening, you and your partner can choose to while away a couple of hours in the private hot tub or open up a bottle of something fizzy and relax on the provided to chairs whilst gazing up to the stars.

If you can tear yourself away from this quaint, secluded spot, head to the nearby village of Scalby, where you will be delighted to find a number of pubs, shops and a café, as well as a weekly farmer’s market.

For a day at the coast, be sure to visit the popular resort town of Scarborough, where you will find a superb selection of attractions to suit all tastes, including the SEA LIFE Centre, the Japanese-style park and gardens of Peasholm Park and for a taste of history there is Scarborough Castle, which overlooks the glorious beach.

Travel further afield to find pretty Robin Hood's Bay or a perhaps a day out in Whitby, home to the famous 199 steps which leads up to Whitby Abbey.

Alternatively, nearby North Riding Forest Park offers endearing forest walks with breath-taking scenery.

Crabtree Cottage is the perfect cottage for explore North Yorkshire at your own pace.

The picturesque village of Scalby lies just 2.5 miles from the seaside resort of Scarborough. The village centre, with its stone cottages and Victorian houses, boasts good facilities, with a pub, two local shops, a quaint tea room, a hairdressers and a beauty salon. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, with thousands of hectares of moors and forest, it makes the perfect place to stay, with numerous public footpaths and the well-known Scalby Beck, which winds its way to the coast. A weekly farmers market is held in the grounds of St. Lawrence’s Church Rooms, selling local produce. With Scarborough on the doorstep, with its fine, sandy beaches, good restaurants and bustling town centre, Scalby provides a lovely retreat after a busy day out!
