“We had the absolute best stay here!”

I couldn’t recommend enough! The lodge was so cute and cozy and felt like our own little home for a few nights! We brought our dog and he had free reign to roam around as the whole of our area was fenced off for him, which was amazing as we got to throw the ball for him as the space was that big. The only issue I would raise is about the log burner and the hot tub. I’m not sure if it’s intended to be a seasonal thing but if you are planning on using them, then bring your own logs and ...

I’m not sure if it’s intended to be a seasonal thing but if you are planning on using them, then bring your own logs and kindling as there was non provided which I had expected so we had to do quite a few trips to b&m to get some which ended up costing us more than we expected, as this was meant to be a cheap last minute get away deal for us. There was a quarter of a bag of fire starters but they only lasted us 2 of the 4 times and once we ran out we had no way of starting a fire meaning on our last night when a storm hit and we wanted to be cozy and warm we couldn’t. Again I’m not sure if wood is meant to be provided but there does look like there is a designated area that would store wood for you and I was a little disappointed that it became our responsibility to fork out money to do so. Another thing with the hot tub, the hose is freezing cold and the instructions state it should only take an hour for the hot tub to heat up and we were lucky if the water went from freezing to slightly warm in 3 hours! If we started the hot tub at 4 it wouldn’t be ready to get in until after 9pm. I feel like there may have been an issue with the pipes that push the heat in as the bottom one during our whole stay never pushed any heat into the water and sometimes I could feel cool air coming through that one and the top pipe was hit and miss. But when we got the hot tub working it was a dream!!! The twinkle lights and the boarder up around it just creates such a magical and wonderful experience! This little lodge became a home from home and we can’t wait to share more memories in it! Thank you for a fantastic stay and we will be back!
