    “Lovely two bedroom holiday cottage.”

    We stayed at the property next door earlier this year and decided to come back as we were so impressed with Kingfisher Corner; and The Stables didn't disappoint. It is clean, bright, spacious and stayed relatively cool (during the May heatwave) with the help of the Velux roof windows. The facilities are excellent; modern and convenient. We had breakfast in the cottage each morning and cooked in the kitchen most evenings; which had everything we needed. Parking is just across the courtyard and ...

    We stayed at the property next door earlier this year and decided to come back as we were so impressed with Kingfisher Corner; and The Stables didn't disappoint. It is clean, bright, spacious and stayed relatively cool (during the May heatwave) with the help of the Velux roof windows. The facilities are excellent; modern and convenient. We had breakfast in the cottage each morning and cooked in the kitchen most evenings; which had everything we needed. Parking is just across the courtyard and has plenty of space to turn the car around to park. At night, even with the windows open, it was very, very quiet; only the occasional Tawny owl. We met Rachael, the owner and she was very helpful. Firstly, helping us find the cutlery drawer (doh!) and then dropping off a pint of milk. We look forward to coming back to Kelk Beck Cottages the next time we are visiting that part of Yorkshire.

Based on a working farm in the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside is The Stables, once a farm building, now a cute cottage perfect for a rural retreat.

Found in Little Kelk and neighbour to two other properties, The Stables is a two-bedroom all ground-floor cottage, and is ideal for those wishing to explore both the coast and countryside.

Step into the open-plan living space and find a homely spot to relax in the sitting area, where a vibant blue sofa and two armchairs await you after a refreshing walk, with a Smart TV to entertain.

At the breakfast bar are some rustic tractor seat style stools facing the well-equipped kitchen, with an abundance of light throughout.

Find all the appliances you need here, as well as a dining table and chairs, with the original wooden beams holding up the apex ceiling above.

Choose from either of the two lovely bedrooms, one a super-king and the other a king-size, both served by the neat bathroom which has both a bath and a walk-in shower.

Kelk Beck Cottages

Amidst the undulating countryside of East Yorkshire is a quaint working farm, home to Kelk Beck Cottages, three beautiful properties in the charming hamlet of Little Kelk benefiting from a peaceful rural location also very close to Fraisthorpe Beach. All three cottages were once former farm buildings and still retain their original features of high apex ceilings held up by rustic wooden beams as well as some original brick walls, adding a history and character to each home. Heated via Biomass powered underfloor heating throughout, as well as having solar panels to boost electricity, you will stay warm whatever the weather outside, enjoying the open-plan living spaces which have been decked out with quality furnishings and features. Plough Cottage and Kingfisher Corner both sleep two guests each, perfect for a romantic break with your other half, while The Stables sleeps four, ideal for a family or two couples, you can all come together in the shared patio garden seating to plan your activities or enjoy the individual patio areas and in the evenings return to your own space. The village of Kelk has a pub for you to enjoy, as well as St. Quintins pub in Harpham (2 miles) and The Old Star pub in Kilham (4 miles), while a further 7 miles away is the market town of Driffield, the Capital of the Wolds. The owner's land includes the most northerly chalk stream in the country, Kelk Beck, special for its rich and stable habitat for a diverse range of plants and fish, it is brimming with rainbow and brown trout; with maps and directions provided by the owner. Take your bikes to enjoy the National Bike Route 1 which is only 0.5 mile away from the cottages, and you can also choose from a variety of interlinking walks to marvel at this rare natural beauty, catch a glimpse of the trout, and take in the scenery of East Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Wolds. Spend a sunny day on the East Yorkshire coastline at Bridlington, a coastal town under 8 miles away - here you can enjoy sunbathing on the golden sands, taking a dip in the north sea, or simply taking a stroll along the coast, with the bay stretching on for miles all the way down to the Humber Estuary. Further north is the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast with beautiful clifftop scenery, while a longer drive can bring you to the fascinating town of Scarborough, home to a castle, seaside amusements, and two beaches. BRIDLINGTON

Filey 10 miles; Scarborough 20 miles.

The seaside resort of Bridlington lies on the east coast of Yorkshire, south of Scarborough and Filey. Two award-winning beaches of golden sand stretch out on either side of the historic harbour, bustling with activity. Beautifully designed promenades provide everything from fun-fairs to quiet places where you can sit and watch the world go by. Shops, attractions, restaurants and the historic 'Old Town' of Bridlington offer a fascinating contrast to life on the beach, where the latest Dad's Army has been filmed, whilst the Bridlington Spa Theatre on the front provides evening entertainment. There is also the East Riding Leisure Centre, with family swimming area and a variety of other indoor activities. Further afield are the picturesque villages and scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds, the neighbouring resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby and the spectacular heritage coastline. There are numerous places to visit in the area, including Bempton's RSPB bird sanctuary, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves.
