“Great seaside location to explore the beautiful sandsend.”

The bridge and steps up to the property are so charming and the bedrooms were comfortable. We took our three children and they adored the little bedrooms. Sweet little pantry area that we could easily pop up our dogs in crate for the night. We felt that the property would be a lovely rental with a little more tlc, especially for the price. Just a few things that we noted which we hope you feed back to your cleaners/ maintenance as we felt they let you down in this instance. - the garden was ...

- the garden was incredibly overgrown which meant on arrival there was dog poo throughout from previous guests- probably because they were unable to spot it in the long grass - there was empty glasses and even an old corn on the cob in the garden. - the windows were filthy which spoilt the beautiful view from the windows. - the house had a rather damp dog smell to it- we discovered this may be due to the hoover which was full of dog hair and hadn’t been emptied at all. - a small welcome pack would be really lovely as there was literally nothing at all in the cupboards on arrival. Perhaps some milk and teabags, especially as there are no immediate amenities nearby. - a few well thought out things such as hand soap, a hook to hang the hand towels on in the bathroom, maybe a hairdryer etc would also be really useful and what we have had in other properties. Overall we could clearly see this was a well loved magical family holiday home which would have a lovely garden space if cared for. I do urge you to perhaps speak to your cleaners as we really didn’t feel they had done a good job which I’m sure isn’t what you would want. With a few more well thought out things this could be such a great holiday home.

About the location

SANDSEND

Whitby 2.5 miles.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!

Note: Steps throughout property - please take care.
