Robin's Nest Cottage

This was our 3-4th time staying at robins nest .

Quite disappointed as cutlery/ dishes etc was dirty . Cups could do with updating as small cup size .( very dated ) The tv is not digital and I keep hoping that they update this as limited channels . The bedroom linen was clean and fresh and bed comfortable. Great area place situated idea for where we love to stay .

Lovely basket of doggie stuff to use and milk & cake to welcome us. Bedroom is a little snug and found it difficult to get to the mirror on the far side…only way is to roll over the bed but the shower was fantastic! Centrally located for loads of locations from market towns to beaches galore. Lots of wildlife…the highlight for me was the beautiful owl! Overall a lovely peaceful place!

We stayed 5 nights over New Year.

Everything you need is provided. Lots to do in the local area whatever your interests. We saw the seals at Flamborough, bird watching at North Cave Wetlands and a walk up to Filey Brigg. The robin at Robins nest visited us at the car every day, so be ready with the treats.

We had a lovely weeks stay with our Cockapoo.

It was very comfortable and warm which was important as it is winter. There is a nice walk around a small lake within the grounds which our dog enjoyed. The property is well situated on the outskirts of the village where there are a couple of pubs plus a chippy and a pizza takeaway. Many beautiful beaches in easy reach including Bridlington and Scarborough but also some quieter such as Fraisthorpe and Mappleton both of which have excellent cafes which are dog friendly. We definitately recommend this property and will be revisiting.

Back again and another enjoyable week had.

The cottage is warm and comfortable and provides everything we need.

Our second visit to the cottage ( October) just as before we had a pleasant stay, the rear courtyard was perfect for our small dog, comfy sofa and bed.

There are a few nice walks, either to Leven or Brandesburton,both with convenience stores,pub and chippy . The only thing it needs is a newer TV,apart from that all was fine.

Beautiful cottage, quiet and spacious.

The enclosed private courtyard was a bonus. The complimentary milk and biscuits were appreciated. Well-placed for touring the area.

Bedroom far too small !

You can only just squeeze past the end if the bed and I am only a small Person. No TV in bedroom not enough room to have one with no wardrobe only a hanging rack with 5 hangers and a chest if drawers! TV in lounge very old with no free view !

Set in a lovely location, with lovely grounds to walk the dog.Lots of attractions close by. Would definitely book again .

Lovely retreat,nice decor and plenty of room,not much space in bedroom , The settee could do with replacing,much to low for us,maybe two easy chairs would be the answer Lovely area to visit,

This is the 3rd stay in this cottage and have booked up again next year .

The upkeep of this cottage seems to have gone downhill , maybe a little updating of utensils a must ( some crockery left in cupboards dirty or damaged ). Can’t fault the location as good to visit local areas .

Lovely Cottage in a quiet location, very dog friendly with a nice garden to walk the dog.

enclosed patio area at the rear with table and chairs for 2. A couple of villages to walk to, 15 minutes to Hornsea 30 minutes to Bridlington,the owners were very helpful in giving advice for places to visit. A little gem and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely warm and cosy cottage, ideal for a short break.

Had everything we needed and in a great location. The only minus point were the pillows which were lumpy. The accommodation was beautifully furnished and we appreciated the hot and powerful shower.

It has everything you need for a relaxing stay.stayed here twice now would definitely book again.Robin nest is in the perfect place to visit other places.

Nice cottage with good level of equipment for a short break.

Bedroom however is very small and space restricted so not good if you have limited mobility or are a little on the larger size. Handy for visits to most of East Yorkshire particularly the coast.

Lovely clean and comfortable cottage which provided for all our needs.

The heating system ,when needed ,warmed the cottage up very quickly and the shower is spot on.A very pleasant week.

Whilst the cottage is nice the pebble footpath is not good for people with bad legs(i e my wife or our dogs paws) and needs better illumination once dark,the bed is a bit on the big side for the room and the mattress is too firm,the actual signage for the cottage could be a bit bigger and maybe in brighter colours possibly white background But we had a very nice stay

A lovely little cottage, with a nice enclosed patio garden, which was ideal for my dog.

The added bonus of a private area behind the property to walk the dog, leading down to a large pond, with seating. 20 minute drive to local beaches, Beverley and Hull. The property is a bit tricky to find, especially in the dark, so maybe some better signage or lighting to the entrance, but otherwise a very nice stay.

We had an excellent stay at the cottage , it was clean and had everything that we required we would certainly return again

This is one of the best Sykes cottages we have stayed in.

Lovely warm welcoming cottage with a decent sized TV,a proper comfy sofa a very good shower and so well equipped. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

I have a friend living nearby which is why I chose this delightful cottage which exceeded my expectations, is nice and warm against the Yorkshire weather and well equipped except for a slotted spoon to fish vegetables out!

A small freezer would be useful as apart from village shops the nearest supermarkets are in Beverley or Hornsea. I spent Christmas and Easter there so look forwards to staying again at a warmer time of year. The only cons I found was stiff door locks and the keysafe can be difficult to open and the general waste bin outside filled quickly.

Ideal cottage for two with a furry friend.

I can 100% recommend this gem of a cottage, it was spotlessly clean , toasty warm and beautifully decorated.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linen, duvets and pillows were also very good quality. The kitchen was well equipment and had everything we needed. There was nothing we could fault. We will definately return.

I stayed here in March this year and was happy to return.

I LOVE this cottage. It is so comfortable and welcoming. It is very well equipped with additional touches like a welcome pack, chilled water already in the fridge, and very dog friendly with a towel, spare leash and treats. It is the perfect location to explore the area and I can highly recommend this property. I will be back!

Robins nest cottage has everything you need for your stay it’s perfectly located to visit many places and the east coastline.

Date of stay 18-08-2023 to 25-08-2023 This is an excellent barn conversion into a cosy 1 bedroomed cottage for two people.

The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality, and everything you could need is supplied. Lovely thick bath towels are supplied, so there is no need to bring your own. The shower is perfect and large with good water pressure and stable temperature. The bedroom is compact, but there is a double bed, a good-sized chest of drawers and a hanging rail with 8 coat hangers, and a bedside table on either side of the bed. There is very little space between the bottom of the bed and the wall, we are not large people so not a problem for us. The bed was very comfy. Don't worry if you forget your teabags, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, J-cloth etc... there is some supplied to get you started. Other cleaning products and equipment also supplied. The owner had left milk and biscuits for our arrival very much appreciated thank you. This cottage is in a good position for visiting lots of the local heritage sites and beaches. We need to go back to continue with our adventures in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

We enjoyed our stay at Robins Nest.

The kitchen is well equipped but no laundry facilities but this was to expected (not in the listing). Very nicely furnished and clean. The location of this property is ideal for exploring the local area; coast, villages and towns. We did find the bedroom a little cramped but being slim people not a problem. Our dog enjoyed her walks around the wildlife lake in the grounds. The Owners are not intrusive but do respond to any queries you may have. Thank you once again for a very enjoyable stay.

Nice stay everything good very clean , just toaster needs replacing as it gets very hot on outside.

Robins Nest is excellent,it spotlessly clean,contains everything you need,it's in a good location with outdoor space to stroll around your own little lake.

We will return to this little Gem.

Well positioned for visiting places, really enjoyed are days out,property light and airy,Didn't meet owners ,plant pots would have been nice with flowers in ,and not weeds Would recommend and would visit again

The cottage was as described with every thing you would want or need on holiday .

Local shop and eatery information and a nice surprise for our dog with treats and a nice welcome pack for us the owners were both friendly and helpful a wonderful part of the country would go again

A super cottage, lovely and clean, everything we needed for our stay, milk & biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch.

Great beach walks nearby, lovely & quiet & on several occasions we had the beach to ourselves which our nervous dog loved. The grounds around the cottage are wonderful, a nice dog walk down to the lake & a resident barn owl. Just perfect!

Robin's Nest is a lovely cottage, well laid out, very clean and well stocked.

The owners are very friendly and helpful, but they also provided additional touches of a welcome pack of biscuits and milk, and absolutely everything for a dog. There was a dog towel, bowls, brush and treats. Places often say they are dog friendly but these people really mean it! It is the perfect location to explore the coast or inland and I highly recommend the property and owners. Will definitely book again.

Nice peaceful place, central for going places on east coast.

Well equipped cottage, comfortable accommodation. Bedroom s tight and bed is short. I’m 6’2” and my feet poked through the bottom metal bed rails which was uncomfortable. so if your tall the bed is not the best. The bedroom is tiny and it’s a squeeze to get around the bed. Otherwise it’s a great place.

A lovely property in an excellent location and very quiet.

Very well equipped - particularly grateful for the tea bags as I forgot mine. Smelt a bit doggy, but then most of your clients have dogs. The shower was very hot and the temperature control didn't work. Otherwise wonderful.

It would be helpful if there was a shaver point in the bathroom.

Thank goodness we are both reasonably thin to access the other side of the bed. Otherwise everything first class.

We wanted a quiet break and definitely got one. Well equipped and comfortable.

Lovely and clean but not enough room to get round the bottom of the bed.

2 pubs that were recommended are not dog friendly.

We had a great time at Robins nest cottage it suited us in every way, property well laid out, an enclosed private patio was great and especially the adjacent field for use was good as we have a 12year old diabetic insulin dependant golden retriever who doesn't walk far these days, yes maybe the bedroom was a bit tight but you only sleep in it so not a problem for us

An excellent location for visiting the local area with some nice eating places near by, close to the sea and nature walks too.

The house is in a lovely area and environment with good parking. The kitchen has everything you need and is nice to prepare food in just could do with a potato masher and large frying pan. We hadn’t expected the bedroom to be quite so small but not much can be done about that.

Very pretty little cottage with a lovely little courtyard.

Perfect for two people and a dog. The cottage is situated between two villages with quite a few places to eat out both within easy walking distance so no need to drive out for an evening meal. Had a very relaxing holiday would definitely recommend.

Lovely place too stay, location good, DACRE ARMS beautifull well cooked food, freindly people, lots too do in the area, clean beeches,and we are planingto go back next year.

The cottage was lovely really clean and comfortable.

The only downside was the strong gassy smell which we presumed was from the toilet system. However apart from that we had no complaints and would definitely come back again.

A mirror near a socket would be good for drying hair, and a more noticeable sign as its quite hard to find when you first arrive.

Robin's Nest is well equipped, clean and comfortable.

It was cold during our stay, but the central heating kept us cosy and there was everything we needed to cook meals in plus information about local pubs, restaurants and shops if we wanted to eat out. Lots of walks, bike rides and tourist information included. One of the walks Alan suggested in the dry valleys of the Wolds was the highlight of our stay and we were blessed with glorious sunshine in November. We did have a bit of difficulty finding Robin's Nest when we arrived, but Alan also said he had asked Sykes to clarify the directions on the listing, but this had not happened. If you approach from Leven it is the first entrance on the RHS after a slight LH bend with a fiingerpost and a layby on the LHS. You don't actually go as far as the first signs for Brandesburton and if you get to the Blue Rose Country Park you have missed it.

We would have liked there to be a light at the entrance to the driveway as on a night time it was dark and you couldn’t see the sign.

The small solar lights are not powerful enough.

Disappointed there was no washing or ironing facilities.

Also the cottage had velux windows But no way of opening them. So it made the bathroom especially musky & damp.

Fantastic location, cottage was very well equipped.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break in Robins Nest, which is ideal for a couple.

Had slight difficulty initially locating the property, so clearer roadside signage would help.

your location guidance was hopeless - took us half an hour to finally locate the cottage!

The owner was extremely understanding when we had to leave a day early because our cat was unwell.

I emailed Sykes on 14/5/21 and have not had the courtesy of a reply!!I I also rang Sykes the same day and after waiting almost fifteen minutes I hung up. This is not good for any business. Blaming COVID is not an excuse either. Any business that cannot be contacted by it's customers doesn't deserve to succeed.

A good location for a quiet and peaceful stay.

The cottage is small and compact. The owners have done a great job in converting the barns into 2 cottages and to a good standard. The patio area is a real sun trap for those wanting to get a tan but also has plenty of shade throughout the day. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend the cottage. The only negative would be the fridge didn’t have a freezer department.

Just simply great!

Only two things I could fault, no means of opening the velox windows for fresh air, ( had to stand on a chair,) and the other point was being 6’2” the bed was too short for me to be comfortable, mainly due to the bed having a foot board.

Other than that it was a great retreat, and really lovey owners in the farm house next door. Good feedback left in the visitors book in the cottage.

First class property.

Our holiday accommodation was exactly as discribe, clean everything you needed and comfortable the small courtyard was a great place to sit and eat in the evenings a real sun trap during the day too.

The only thing I could say would possibility be a sweeper or broom would help to keep the floors free of dust and grass during your stay. Owners were very friendly and approachable. Would recommend to friends.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this lovely cottage.

Having the secluded, enclosed patio at the rear of the cottage was ideal for the dog and when the sun was shining it was a sun trap for most of the day. This cottage provided everything we needed for a very relaxing holiday. The owners were welcoming and attentive but not intrusive. We enjoyed a variety of walks in the surrounding area and it was only a short drive to some excellent sandy beaches.

The sofa is very uncomfortable and the tv is very dated.

A lovely cottage type sofa and arm chair would improve this property 100%. Apart from that this cottage is lovely and in a great location and excellent for dog walks, especially Beverley.
