    “Beck Cottage is simply lovely.”

    This was our second stay and just as good as the first. Communication about car parking and collecting the key was very clear and made the arrival process really easy. The welcome pack of tea, milk and sweet treats was very nice. The attention to detail and thoughtful touches provded by the owners make staying here a real pleasure. It's nice to visit a holiday cottage with good quality kitchen knives. In fact all the kitchen equipment is top quality. The location of the cottage is excellent ...

It's nice to visit a holiday cottage with good quality kitchen knives. In fact all the kitchen equipment is top quality. The location of the cottage is excellent - close to the centre of Pickering and of course perfect if you like to watch the steam trains pulling in and out of the station. My wife and I both heartily recommend Beck Cottage should you want to holiday in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. We will definitely return for a third visit.

Kirkbymoorside 7 miles; Helmsley 13 miles; Scarborough 18 miles; Whitby 22 miles; York 27 miles.

This historic market town, with its full range of amenities and traditional shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, serves as the official gateway to the beautiful North York Moors National Park, home of the Heartbeat countryside. Enjoy a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, where Harry Potter fans can even explore some of the locations used in the filming of The Philosopher’s Stone! The Beck Isle Museum is also well worth a visit, with its unique collection of black and white photography and displays of rural life. Walkers will be spoilt for choice by the rolling hills, valleys, rivers and abundant wildlife of the North York Moors, whilst the city of York and the Heritage Coast are just half an hour’s drive away. All in all, a wonderful setting for a relaxing holiday.
