A delightful lodge resting within The Pines at Runswick Bay holiday park in Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire. Decking area. Open-plan living. Close to beach. Staithes 2.4 miles; Whitby 8.9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 11.1 miles.

Seagull Lodge is an extremely well appointed and comfortable holiday home in a small secure gated community

The area is beautiful with lots of walks, history and places to eat. The owners provided a very well considered welcome pack which was a pleasant surprise, as was the excellent glazed fruit tart that arrived during our stay! All in all we had a wonderful time and cannot recommend Seagull Lodge highly enough to other holiday makers, and we will definitely be back.

Located on The Pines at Runswick Bay holiday park, which proudly sits in the centre of the picturesque village of Runswick Bay, is Seagull Lodge. A stone's through from the lovely sandy beach, as well as resting within the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors National Park, this single-storey lodge is ideal for a small family or group wanting to enjoy the best of North Yorkshire's coast and countryside.

Step inside the property to discover a contemporary, open-plan living space, filled with natural tones and adorned with two patio doors, allowing in plenty of light. The well-equipped kitchen offers all of the appliances you could wish for during a self-catered stay, while meals can be enjoyed together around the dining table, before rounding off a cosy evening in by relaxing on the sofa and finding a great film to watch on the TV. During the warm summer evenings, slide the patio doors open and head onto the enclosed decking area for an alfresco dinner or an evening glass of wine as you enjoy a peaceful sunset. Retire to the master bedroom to catch your rest; boasting a king-size double bed, a TV and a walk-in wardrobe for your belongings, this room also benefits from an immaculate en-suite shower room. The twin bedroom would be ideal for children and benefits from access to the family bathroom; a contemporary wood-panelled room with the choice of a bath and shower over.

Make the short walk to Runswick Bay's delightful sandy beach; this sheltered bay is surrounded by spectacular moorland scenery and backed by dramatic cliffs, which can be appreciated as you walk along the golden sand or join the iconic Cleveland Way, which takes you along the clifftop just above. Venture into Staithes to peruse a host of charming shops and fantastic eateries, while its fantastic art gallery is a must visit. Venture south along the coast towards the popular resort of Whitby and discover a wealth of attractions; climb the 199 steps towards Whitby Abbey and see the Gothic ruins up close, as well as being able to enjoy spectacular coastal views from the top.

Head back down the steps and discover a network of cobbled streets, brimming with bars, pubs, eateries and gift shops, and don't forget to grab a portion of fish and chips to be enjoyed on the sandy beach in the fresh sea-salty air. Hop on a boat tour out to sea to try and capture a glimpse of whales, known to frequent the area, and take a walk along the pier towards Whitby Harbour East Lighthouse for uninterrupted coastal views.

Move south along the coast and you'll discover Robin Hood's Bay, home of the National Trust's Old Coastguard Station, as well as the iconic Victorian seaside resort of Scarborough, which offers two sandy beaches, an imposing castle, Alpamare UK waterpark, SEA LIFE Scarborough and the stunning Japanese-inspired Peasholm Park. Create lasting memories with your loved ones at this wonderful coastal getaway.

A luxurious, well equipped lodge, excellent location. A fantastic welcome pack, best ever and mid week the owners arrived with a delicious fruit tart, a real treat. The owners were friendly and helpful. We will be back.
Mrs Bridgestock
Excellent in every way. Tastefully appointed, extremely well maintained and very comfortable - especially the bed! It is difficult to think of anything which could be added to the equipment or fittings which might improve the experience, although I did find the shower control in the en suite rather too stiff for my arthritic wrist. However, this is not really an issue as there is always the bathroom, and anywayTerry is aware of it. The welcome pack was easily the most generous we have had anywhere and the entries in the visitors' book all commented on the superb midweek fruit tart - quite right, too! Terry was there when we arrived, Louise came later to welcome us and to see how we had settled and altogether they could scarcely have been more hospitable or helpful through the week. Totally recommended!
Very enjoyable stay , well maintained , owners will go out of they way to help and make you feel very welcomed, we would stay it’s the best accommodation we’ve stayed in
Mr Thomas
We had a wonderful week in Seagull Lodge. It was extremely comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Terry and Louise were wonderful hosts, extremely helpful and left us a fantastic welcome pack and a delicious midweek fruit tart. The park itself is very tranquil and beautully maintained. Had some great meals in the Runswick Bay Hotel which is very close and the Badger Hounds in Hinderwell. Booking first is a good idea. Staithes,Sandsend and Whitby were all love places to visit and very close, and Runswick Bay itself is beautiful, check the tide times. The area is very dog friendly and Hector our springador loved it .We shall return!
Mrs Staten
Lovely holiday. Seagull Lodge was very clean and had everything we needed, including the little things that aren’t always included like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin liners etc - makes all the difference. Very much appreciated the lovely welcome basket as well.
Miss Sanderson

Ms Nodder
What a fabulous holiday we have had. The lodge was absolutely amazing. Booking, arrival instructions etc were so easy to follow. Upon arrival we were met with a spotlessly clean, secure site. The lodge was delightful, a fantastic welcome pack was there to greet us along with a warm welcome from Terry & Louise the owners. The facilities at Seagull Lodge were wonderful. The Hive heating meant that we were always comfortable and warm. The lodge is spacious and included absolutely everything we needed for our week away. The dishwasher and washing machine/dryer meant that we had home comforts at our fingertips. Our dogs were made very welcome too and enjoyed the treats left for them. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much Terry & Louise.
Mrs Dunderdale
The lodge was stunning! A very comfortable home from home. The drying cupboard as you come into the lodge is great when you have wet and muddy clothes/shoes! The Pines is a very quiet and exclusive site. Cooking xmas lunch in a cooker that isn't yours was fun to say the least! The Runswick Bay Hotel in the village, The Badger Hounds in Hinderwell and the Cod & Lobster in Staithes are all well worth the visit - all food was out of this world! Great walks to the beach and on the Cleveland Way for the dog. Visited Whitby and Sandsend - lovely. If I could just make a couple of friendly suggestions: Need hooks on the back of the main bedroom en-suite door for towels. The quilt on the kingsize bed was too small for the quilt cover. Lamp in the twin bedroom didn't work, but found another lamp in the wardrobe to swap it for. One of the lamps in the main bedroom was loose near the shade. Couple of bulbs in the spot lights in the living room/kitchen didn't work. We loved it so much, that we have booked for xmas 2022! Can't wait.
Mrs Aldridge
This is a fantastic holiday retreat. Warm, cosy, clean and in a great location for the Cleveland Way and Runswick Bay beach. Lovely pubs and places to eat close by. Ideal base to explore Yorkshire moors and coast. The owners were fabulous. Nothing too much trouble. Not that we had any issues. Everything was perfect. Welcome goodies and midweek treat a bonus. Thank you.
Mrs Lester
The lodge was immaculate and had everything you would need. The welcome basket and midweek patisserie treat from the owners was a lovely added bonus. A fabulous holiday
Mrs Newton
The lodge is wonderful, with everything you can possibly need. Set on a small quiet self contained section of the park that added to the very enjoyable relaxing time we had. The owners are very friendly and helpful, providing a very extensive welcome pack and a very special homemade treat on Wednesday that cannot fail to please! We would be very happy to recommend the lodge to our family and friends and hope to return ourselves in the future.
Mr Ashworth
Seagull Lodge in Runswick Bay was perfect. It was immaculate and surprisingly spacious with lots of storage and all mod cons in a beautiful quiet setting and there was a thoughtful welcome pack which we didn’t expect when we arrived. The owner was friendly but not intrusive. We would definitely book again or recommend to friends.
Mrs O'brien
Beautiful lodge very clean would definitely recommend it
Mrs Beetlestone
Lovely spacious lodge on a peaceful and quiet site with everything you could need. Best welcome package ever plus a treat from the owners in the week. Within walking distance of the village with a couple of pubs plus easy access to Cleveland way. Liked it so much we’ve booked for next year.
Mrs Morley
We had such a wonderful stay at Seagull lodge. It was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable and well equipped. Its walking distance to the beautiful Runswick bay and provided a great base to explore surrounding areas of Yorkshire. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful and the welcome basket of goodies was much appreciated after a long journey. We would highly recommend Seagull lodge and will definitely return.
Mrs Babington
Just returned from a superb holiday at Seagull Lodge. Quite expensive but facilities were excellent and the whole lodge was beautifully clean and comfortable. Pillows a little thin but plenty of them so slept on two. Terry and Louise the owners are available for any issues which may arise and are always willing to help. Fabulous welcome pack on arrival and Louise also made us pastries in the middle of the week. Thank you very much for that. Would not hesitate to recommend or indeed book the lodge ourselves for a return visit.
Mrs Dilks
Seagull lodge is bright, clean, modern and plenty spacious enough for four adults. With the outdoor area it had everything we needed for our holiday. The lodge is also very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Terry and Louise went out of their way to make us feel welcome and see that all our needs were met.
Mr West
We found Seagull Lodge to be even more amazing than the photos indicate. The lodge is decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard, complete with everything …. if not more … than you will need during your stay. Terry and Louise were so considerate, and ensured that we were comfortable and happy during our stay …. even down to personally delivering us some treats, making sure we were ok, and advising on places to visit. All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic week and would have no hesitation in recommending Seagull Lodge. We definitely will be visiting again - thank you so much Terry and Louise!
Mr Moffatt

The Seagull Lodge was better than the pictures! Louise and Terry called us a couple of days before arrival to check if there was anything extra we needed (bedding etc.), and we're contactable during the stay if anything else was required. The Pines is a lovely gated area, easily accessible and very nice surroundings! Overall very pleased with the lodge and would definitely stay there again.
Mr Wild
