Step inside and be enchanted by the open-plan living space's contemporary décor, which is bathed with natural light welcoming in through the Juliet balcony, offering unspoilt views of the tranquil waters of the North Sea.

After a day of activity, dust off your sandy toes and relax in front of the television for a quiet moment before heading over to the well-equipped kitchen to whip up some scrumptious goodies for your loved ones.

Uncork a bottle of wine and serve your culinary delights at the dining table, where you can indulge as the fresh sea breeze flows freely through the French doors.

As the evening grows darker, prepare for bed with a quick rinse under the luxurious waterfall head in the contemporary shower room before retiring to one of the two tastefully decorated double bedrooms, each with its own TV, so you can catch up on your favourite show from the comfort of the covers. Take a break from the kitchen and treat your loved ones to some delicious pub fare at The Hart Inn, or head to the Fish Cottage to savour the catch of the day.

Pack up your bucket and spade and head to Sandsend Beach, where you can spend a fun-filled afternoon paddling the shores, basking in the sun's rays, or tackling the waves.

A scenic stroll along the glorious golden sand will lead you to Whitby, a popular seaside town famous for being the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Here, you can climb the 199 Steps to the mediaeval ruins of Whitby Abbey, which offer sweeping views of the harbour from the top, or take a tour of Whitby Museum to learn more about the fascinating local history.

Avid walkers can follow The Cinder Track through North Yorkshire's scenic countryside toward the picture-perfect fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay, or for more sights and attractions, jump in the car and visit Staithes, Saltburn, or Runswick Bay, all of which are well worth a visit.

About the location

SANDSEND

Whitby 2.5 miles.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. In the season, beachside stalls offer everything from light snacks and drinks to boats, buckets and spades! Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!
