“The overall stay was lovely.”
Andrew and Emily (who live on site) were very welcoming and helpful, nothing was ever a problem. The cleaner Jane also was also very nice and helpful.
Some small gripes were, the upstairs floorboards were very noisy when moving about especially for the guests below. A small TV in the bedrooms would have been nice. The games room could do with some updating.

On a positive note the kitchen was fully equipped and we didn’t need to bring anything apart from food. Hair dryers were provided, plenty of towels , hand wash and toilet rolls. The welcome box of chocolates, a bottle of wine and eggs was a lovely touch. Tea, coffee and sugar was also provided. The beds were very comfortable.
The swimming pool was a big part of why we chose the cottage and facility didn’t disappoint. The kids really enjoyed it!
Regrettably on a negative note, on one occasion whilst we were using the pool, shortly after entering we were told (for the first time) that swimming lessons occur on a Tuesday afternoon and that we would need to get out. This was the first time meeting the owner. She did apologise but it was very awkward. We were very disappointed (as anyone would be) but especially because one of our family members who has a terminal illness (unbeknown to the owner) to our surprise had gotten into the pool that day very shortly before and for the first and only time during our stay, so to be told to get out was a real disappointment to him and naturally to all of us! We were polite despite our feelings (even though our disappointment would have been clear) however that was the only time the owner spoke to us although we saw her a few times afterwards and we were the only guests on site. Wasn’t a deal breaker but did leave a bitter taste in the mouth. A notice on the door would have negated this.
Hello
Thank you for your feedback.
Just to update you, Emily is also an owner, and I think you met her on several occasions!
The pool situation was a shame, but there is a notice in the file with all the information, stating that on Tuesday afternoon the pool is used by local children for a couple of hours. We also keep the pool open longer on a Tuesday night to compensate!
The games room is really just a place where children can 'hang out', its more like a 'den' for them, and we feel if we updated it, it would become more for adults than children.... that is not our intention.
