A fantastic holiday cottage located in the heart of Whitby, furnished to an extremely high standard and decorated in seaside themes with a private parking space. This is a really gorgeous cottage with a superb location in the heart of Whitby, a short stroll to the shops, restaurants, tea rooms, harbour and beach, with lovely, beach-inspired décor. A perfect choice for a wonderful holiday, this charming property, which has been lovingly and thoughtfully decorated and equipped.

Very nice cottage/decor with the added bonus of a sea view and the Abbey from the top bedroom however as the window didn't open it got very hot in that room and there was no privacy in the top bathroom

It definately needs frosted glass or a blind to stop anyone in the houses above the property being able to see straight in. One of the bed sheets, mattress protector and duvet was badly stained (covered in lots of large yellow stains) which couldn't be missed by whoever was putting clean sheets on the bed prior to our arrival. Despite this we had a lovely stay and everything we needed was supplied in the property.

Ground Floor

On the ground floor there is a open-plan sitting room with comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and DVD player, a dining table to seat six people and an open plan kitchen with new oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and microwave.

First Floor

On the first floor there is a house bathroom with full size bath, shower, hand wash basin and WC, two twin bedrooms, with zip and link beds that can be made into two super king sized beds. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room.

Second Floor

On the second floor there is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.

To the rear of the cottage there is a small secluded patio area with two small outdoor tables and six outdoor chairs to enjoy a drink on a warm evening.

Adventure Cottage is located in Cliff Street on the West Cliff area of Whitby.

Mrs Mckidd
Lovely cottage in good location. Facilities, cleanliness and comfort excellent. Would have liked a radio but woyld benefit from shutters/venetian blind on the front window to improve privacy.
Mr Charnock
Everything was superb, the quality of the beds, towels, bed linen etc was brilliant. We had a lovely three nights. The only minor criticism is there were only 4 chairs in the lounge. One of our party had to drop out, only 5 people stayed, but one person had to sit on a dining chair. Luckily they were comfortable.
Mrs Tierney
We absolutely loved Adventure Cottage - it ticked all our boxes for a group of six; location, parking, bathrooms, comfort. The decor is tasteful and calming reflecting the seaside atmosphere. Every bed was very comfortable, efficient heating. The only comments we would make is that the family bathroom shower is dated in comparison to the others and the on/off switch seems tricky to get to work. Another two seater sofa would be great in the living room but there is ample space around the dining table for 6 when everyone is 'home'. All-in-all we were very pleased we found Adventure Cottage and enjoyed our stay immensely!
Mrs Turtill
Absolutly fab cottage clean comfortable le and fantastic location many thanks for a lovely stay will definitely be returning
Mrs Thompson-stuart
Great location, well equipped, bedrooms and bathrooms very good.
Mr Haigh
Central but quiet location; well equipped cottage; comfy beds; Bonus of a parking space meant no stress on returning if we went further afield. Whitby is a great place !
Mrs Oreilly
Fantastic location with a parking space! Very well equipped too.
Mrs Spilsbury
Lovely, well appointed cottage centrally situated in a quiet street leading up to West Cliff. Parking for one car a real bonus. We stayed as a family of 6 with parents, 2 young children and grandparents, the layout suited us as grandparents took the top floor and the family the first floor, all had their own bath/shower rooms . We did get a supermarket delivery which stretched the storage space in the kitchen, and ended up moving the cleaning products into the under stairs cupboard for the duration of our stay. It would have been nice to have a recycling bin (no room at the back) however we found a can and plastic bottle recycling point on the front near the boats, maybe this should be mentioned in the welcome info. This was our first stay in Whitby and we loved it.
Mrs Birkinshaw
Think there should be more comfortable seating in living area felt the downstairs a bit dark
Mrs Richmond
The travel directions to the cottage are not good. Most people arrive not knowing the area and using their Sat Nav. It can cause a very stressed start to a holiday when Cliff St is hard to find due to No Entry signs. The key safe is very difficult to open to access the key and needs attention. Although there is one extra front door key it doesn’t open the front door lock. It is inconvenient when six adults are sharing one key.
Mrs Cosgrove
The cottage had fantastic facilities and was in a perfect location. Would certainly book again as we loved it.
Miss Boak
We stayed in this property about 3 years ago, and found it to be ideal with it being so close to town. However we did suggest that it would be better with enough comfortable seating for 6 rather than the 4, only a double sofa and 2 armchairs. This time with the weather so bad we were confined to staying in more than we would have liked, so not so plesent with shortage of comfy seating. We also found the cottage badly in need of a deep clean, especially on the top floor where the dust was so thick you could write your name, all the light shades needed a good clean too. The cottage is lovely and it's a shame that it's lacking care. Would we stay again, maybe if there was only 4 of us and cleanliness had been addressed.
Mrs Stirling
The property is in an ideal location for all facilities. Upstairs was a good space and as published. Downstairs, seating for four not six, dishwasher not working properly, washer dryer not working properly. The kitchen was tired and very small no room at all for food the food cupboards we full of cleaning fluids or utensils. Outside space so small barely room for two people and not useable, not private. No recycling (a drive if 15mins)No parking disc for extra car that had been requested. Some of the doors wouldn’t close. All said and done the service from the admin Team was good the downstairs did not meet the needs for a party of six. Karen
Mrs Horner
A lovely cottage for a family birthday including "splinter free" floors for our 11 month old baby to crawn around! We would love to return.
