    “This is our second stay at Gray's Cottage.”

    It has everything we want. it is bang in the centre of Whitby, but down an alley and quiet (even though it was the Goth Halloween weekend). It is well appointed and spotlessly clean. Parking is always an issue in Whitby but we are very happy parking in the adjacent car park and just factoring the cost into our holiday. Although it is short stay you can actually stay there all night and any paid for our of hours time roll over onto the next charge period. The street parking permit is a waste of ...

The street parking permit is a waste of time when it is as busy as it was at Halloween. It might be useful during other seasons. We would stay there again on our next visit.

The property

Enjoying captivating views of the famous Whitby Abbey, St Mary’s Church, the harbour and the far-reaching coastline is this elegantly-appointed, one bedroom abode, Grays’ Cottage, 3 Flowergate Walk.

This wonderful hideaway enjoys a superb position within the town’s centre and is only a short walk from the magnitude of independent cafés, bistros and restaurants within the seaside location, ideal for a romantic getaway.

An ‘upside down’ house to make the most of the views, venture up the staircase to be welcomed into the contemporary-styled lounge, overlooking the old town and Abbey.

Fulfilling your culinary needs is a well-equipped kitchen, where you and your partner can rustle up a tasty treat that can be enjoyed in the dining room, which offers delightful views as you tuck into your home-cooked meal or enjoy a deserved glass of wine.

The charm of the property is continued into the bedroom, where a well-presented super king sized bed awaits you after an action-packed day, as well as ample storage to house your personal belongings.

Enjoy breakfast or pre-dinner drinks on the patio that spans the front and side of the property, enjoying morning sunshine and all-day views.

If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, you and your loved one will be spoilt for choice by the eateries that await you within the town.

Choose to sit at the harbour side and tuck into the famous Whitby fish and chips, or dine at one of the many elegant restaurants serving delicious seafood, or head to Fortune’s, a traditional smokehouse.

Attractions within the town are plentiful, with opportunities to soak up the sun at the beach or brush up on the local history by climbing the 199 steps to discover the famous ruins of the Abbey which inspired Bram Stoker’s famous novel Dracula.

If you are feeling more adventurous, head along the coastline to the popular resort town of Scarborough or choose to walk one of the paths upon the majestic North York Moors National Park or the famous Cleveland Way.
