“My sister and I had a lovely week in the Little Corner House and Whitby.”

We are both 70 + and had a few minor niggles, the first of which was accessing the key box. It's not easy getting up from floor level. No. 2, no stair rail to hold while going downstairs, and No. 3 no non slip mat in the bath. I must stress these were niggles in relation to our age and abilities and in no way affected our enjoyment of the house, we loved it. We bought a mat for the bath, became more confident on the stairs and only had to access the key box once. We would certainly stay there ...

Whitby is a fantastic seaside town with a whole host of amenities and attractions for guests to enjoy, famous for the historic Abbey, and Bram Stoker’s iconic novel, Dracula, based on his visit.

The town offers a selection of quaint independent shops to be browsed at your leisure, convenience stores for your holiday essentials and, for when you don’t feel like cooking or fancy a cold beverage, a great selection of pubs, cafes, and restaurants, with options including Clara’s ice cream parlour and coffee shop, Abbey Wharfe, The Magpie famous for great fish and chips, often frequented by local chef James Martin, The Moon and Sixpence, Harry’s Bar, Sneaton Castle for amazing Sunday lunches, and the Wheatsheaf in Egton.

Great pubs in the area include the Arch & Abbey, The Waiting room, and Whitby Brewery with fantastic views of the abbey.

The town offers walks beside the River Esk, and a fantastic sandy beach, where there are watersports facilities available, or continue on to Sandsend, Runswick Bay, and Saltwick Bay, the latter great for fossil hunting.

Walk or mountain bike through the fantastic scenery of the North York Moors National Park, where there are many scenic locations such as Mallyan Spout Waterfall, Blue Man-i'-th'-Moss and Mulgrave Castle, along with Goathland, where the TV series of Heartbeat was filmed, with the Falling Foss walking trail nearby, with a great café at the end.

Guests can also visit lovely beaches such as Robin Hood’s Bay, the beautiful harbourside town of Staithes with its winding streets and local shops, and the bustling resort of Scarborough, offering amusements, a museum, art gallery, impressive castle, and seaside walks.

All of this and so much more with a stay at the fantastic The Little Corner House.
