Birch Waterside Spa is a striking two-storey lodge set on Woodland Lakes Holiday Park near Thirsk, Yorkshire.

With an on-site car park that includes EV charging, it’s a practical choice for families or groups of friends seeking time away in a rural setting.

Step inside and you’re met with warm timber interiors and a layout that flows easily from one space to the next.

The open-plan living area is arranged for shared moments, with seating positioned around a TV fitted, ideal for film nights or catching up on a series.

The kitchen, thoughtfully equipped with an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle, and toaster, makes meal preparation straightforward.

The dining table offers space for everyone to gather, whether for breakfast chats or planning the day’s outings.

Upstairs and down, the lodge provides two bedrooms: a king-size with its own en-suite bathroom featuring a bath, overhead shower, basin, and WC, and a twin room offering flexible sleeping arrangements.

A second bathroom, also with a bath, shower over, basin, and WC, ensures there’s room for everyone to get ready without delay.

A hairdryer is available, and a vacuum cleaner can be requested if needed.

THIRSK

Northallerton 8.6 miles; North York Moors National Park 5 miles; York 23.7 miles.

With the gateway to the North York Moors National Park to the east and Yorkshire Dales National Park to the west, the bustling town of Thirsk boasts a quaint market place, splendid Georgian buildings, and a Norman church. Here there are a selection of excellent pubs, restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre, as well as independent stores to be browsed at your leisure. Visit the World of James Herriott Museum, dedicated to the life and works of the town’s own famous vet and author or explore the surrounding rolling countryside and Hambleton Hills, offering excellent walking and cycling opportunities. The town is home to the Yorkshire Vet, All Creatures Great and Small, and Thirsk Races, and there are an abundance of local walks throughout the local area, including those at Osmotherly, the Cleveland Way, and Sutton Bank. Cycling within this location is catered for with mountain biking trails and road cycling trails at Sutton Bank's Cycling Centre, Dalby Forest, and Tour de France routes, and there are further walks and cycling routes along the picturesque coast of North Yorkshire, as well as delightful locations including Whitby, Robin Hood Bay, and Staithes.
