The canal, metres away, has lovely towpath walks suitable for wheelchair and mobility scooter access. We had a great time, thanks Lindsay, we will come again soon!

The property

The Summerhouse is an outstanding single-storey cottage set in Kildwick, North Yorkshire, combining the ease of off-road parking and an EV charging point with a stylish studio-style interior made for two.

Inside, the open-plan layout feels bright and airy from the moment you arrive, with a king-size bed taking centre stage so you can watch the Smart TV either from under the covers or from the nearby seating area.

The compact yet well-appointed kitchen corner features a microwave, air fryer, fridge, coffee maker and wine chiller, all ready for simple suppers and unhurried drinks at the sleek bar area.

After a day exploring, stretch out on the sofa, slide open the bifold doors and let the breeze drift in from the enclosed garden.

The decking, lawns and patio provide different spots to savour the outdoors, whether you are lingering over an easy breakfast at the table or tending to the barbecue as evening settles in.

A stylish shower room, with walk-in shower, basin, WC and towel rail, completes this carefully curated retreat. From The Summerhouse it is only a short walk to the local pub and shop in Kildwick, so you can sample local flavours or pick up ingredients without needing to drive.

The nearby canal invites relaxed time by the water, while slightly further afield you can plan gentle days out in Skipton and Howarth or head into the Yorkshire Dales National Park for wide-ranging views and fresh air.
