Proximity to Whitby was handy for shops and eateries or exploratory walks. For us, Shipwrights was well locate for visiting North Yorkshires coast and Moors. Located in a quiet area, easy to find, off road parking for two cars is so useful being close to Whitby.

“Stayed here 3 times now.”

Very handy for the town, nice quiet area so children can play/ride their bikes safely. House is spacious and well equipped. Very creaky floorboards but all of the neighbouring houses seem to be that way, I've stayed in a few now. That's the only negative.

“We really enjoyed our stay.”

The location is good and a nice walk into the town Accommodation is very well equipped and appreciated the provision of cleaning products that sadly some property lacks. The only issue we had was the recycling dust bin was overflowing so had to hunt for alternative bins that we found. But this was not the fault of the owners The provision of plenty of towels was a welcome addition as we were not expecting this We have stayed in a few properties in this location and this was by far one of the quieter locations We would fully recommend this property

“Hi disappointed after staying here last year the overall appearance of the property was disappointing.”

There were issues with cleanliness including thick dust everywhere,the freezer was totally iced up and left with food in .On Monday morning got up to find no electric in half the house and had to ring the emergency number 5 times before I got a response and was then told we had to stay there until somebody came .The house is starting to look a little tired in places

Sorry you were disappointed. You are the first negative review we’ve had. The cleaner left unopened ice pops in the freezer thinking you might make use of them considering the weather. We always dispose of any open goods The thick dust is a mystery to us as we frequently get compliments on the cleanliness of the property. We are redecorating the outside before the year end and will also be making other improvements Property Owner

“What a great place to stay.”

Everything we needed, so clean and comfortable. Parking was great and a short walk into Whitby centre was perfect. Had a great week, the location made it easy to go to all the places we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend The Shipwrights to anyone.

“We really liked this holiday property.”

It was located just where we needed, being a short (and flat!) walk into Whitby. The property was clean and comfortable. There were only two of us, but a bigger party would still have plenty of room. There was parking for 2 cars (we just had the one), but we did not use the car all week. The utility room was very useful. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in Whitby so I was lazy and didn't cook all week! We would definitely recommend The Shipwrights. Would love to stay again. Many thanks!

“This is our second stay at The Shipwrights and it didn’t disappoint.”

The house is in a really good position, it’s in a very quiet little cul- de- sac. It’s an easy level walk into Whitby where you will find an array of interesting shops and eating places. Fish and chips are delicious there. Should you choose to eat back at the house you will find that The Shipwrights is very well equipped for self catering, there is everything you need, ample crockery and cutlery and sufficient pans and dishes to make catering easy. There is a comfortable sitting room with a great tv which our granddaughters loved. The beds are comfortable, everyone slept well. There is an en- suite shower and a bath with a shower over in the family bathroom and a cloakroom on the ground floor. There was always plenty of hot water for us. Shipwrights also has 2 parking spaces which is an amazing asset in Whitby. We have already booked for next year which tells you how much we enjoyed our holiday at The Shipwrights.

“Overall we were very happy with this property and our only real gripe was that no towels were provided.”

For the price we paid for the accommodation we would expect towels and had to go out and buy some on the day of our arrival which wasn’t a good start. The house itself is lovely and very well equipped. It is a ten minute walk into the town which meant we could leave the cars on the drive and walk. We did choose the accommodation partly due to its proximity but also because it had a little play area opposite for our 6 year old granddaughter. Unfortunately this was closed for refurbishment throughout our stay so we had a very sad little girl who went out every day to see if it had been reopened!! Unfortunately despite it being the Easter weekend it remained shut….not the owners fault I know but still disappointing when it is one of the factors that led us to choosing this house.

We have only just bought the property and are sorry you were not fully happy. It does state on the website that towels are not provided, but we have added a reminder when you receive the entry code. We are sorry for your little girl’s sake about the play area, but as you say, we can do nothing about it. We do hope you’ll stay with us again Property Owner
