Description

Situated in the heart of Bridlington, a small coastal town within East Yorkshire, this is a fantastic 11-bedroom holiday home, Bridlington.

On the ground floor, there are homely seating areas, with TVs and a gas fire, making an idyllic space for relaxing after a day of exploring. Allow the designated chef of the group to become acquainted with a well-equipped kitchen, including oven, 5 burner hob, fridge freezer and modern appliances, before settling down in a large dining room to tuck into a feast! Savour evenings together as a family as the wine in poured and conversations flow in the living room with snug area, included games for all the family!

When the evenings drawing to a close, retreat to one of the eleven fabulous bedrooms. Presented on the first floor are a double, two kings and one twin room all three larger bedrooms benefiting from ensuites comprising of shower, basin and WC. On this floor there is also a separate toilet with basin. To the second floor there is a further four doubles and one twin room, all of which are well- adorned with their own ensuites. Reaching the final third floor this is host to a king size room with stunning views of the coastline, a twin room and a bathroom perfect for indulging a soak at the end of a long day.

When you're ready to embark on your next adventure, take a leisurely stroll down to Bridlington Seafront. Here, you can relax and enjoy the stunning sea views, or dip your toes in the soft, golden sand. Plus, you're just a short walk—less than a mile—from the charming town centre of Bridlington Bay, where you can explore local shops, cafes, and attractions.

Further afield, discover Flamborough and pay a visit to New Flamborough Lighthouse, Flamborough Head Golf Club or Selwicks Bay, a brilliant location to admire stunning and far-reaching coastal views.

Well-positioned to also journey to Scarborough, home to Scarborough Castle, South Bay Beach, Scarborough Harbour and an array of places to refuel including The Angel Inn and Lanterna Restaurant, so you can treat your loved ones to some tasty fare.

After the three reviews prior to our arrival we were concerned so I contacted the property manager a few days before we were due to arrive.

On arrival Bridlington Bay House was very much like the photos.It suited our needs fine providing plenty of accommodation for all of our party. The rooms were clean ,light and spacious.All towels and linen on beds were fine. There was one or two issues with water temperature in some of the showers but otherwise the bedrooms were fine. The front lounge was light and comfortable ,the dining room large enough for our group. Lots of placemats but no coasters so had to be careful with hot drinks. Kitchen was fine for cooking for everyone .Cooker was old but worked perfectly. Small games lounge was good for the grandchildren.Hot tub was good if a little over chlorinated. Jess was really helpful in reassuring me everything would be fine for our stay which was good.She was as good as her word as the house was clean and welcoming,ideal for our party.(Thank you Jess and your cleaning team) The house is ideally situated,10 mins from the beach .The sun shone all weekend which was also an added bonus. We had a good time and will continue to use Sykes cottages for our family doos.

Generally OK let down by a couple of things .

First impression was OK but delving a bit deeper property in need of a good deep clean corners of rooms , under beds , down sides of settees etc . In one bedroom one ⁸of our party found a disgusting towel left out as fresh laundry to their horror. We left a note stating this . Settees uncomfortable in living room . Bin area out the back badly needs cleaning up and sorting out . Property would benefit from a downstairs toilet . On the plus side Younger members enjoyed the gaming table and the hot tub is a + .Hot water and showers OK. Kitchen comfortable and facilties easy to use and everything worked . Bedrooms OK furniture dated but functional. Overall for the money OK but could have been better with a deep clean .

We are, however, very sorry to hear that the standard of cleaning wasn’t where it should have been. In particular, finding a used towel amongst the fresh laundry is certainly not acceptable, and we have raised this with our cleaning team. We have also noted your comments regarding the areas requiring a deeper clean and the outside bin area so these can be addressed. It’s great to hear that you found the kitchen well equipped and easy to use, the showers and hot water worked well, and the bedrooms were comfortable and functional. Upon initially viewing this property on Sykes Cottages, I was very impressed.

It appeared to be an excellent find. My family and I had planned this gathering several months in advance as we sought an ideal location and accommodation for our get-together. The location is quite lovely, situated very close to Bridlington beach with charming gift shops nearby. However, regarding the property itself, I was very disappointed with its condition . While the kitchen appeared tidy at first glance, we noticed the oven and utensils were left in a somewhat unclean state. Given the cost of the property, we would expect it to be clean and in a usable condition. Secondly, although the rooms had been tidied and the linen was clean, some towels exhibited deep stains, leading to uncertainty regarding whether they had been replaced. Some toilets did not flush properly, and one ensuite bathroom had no working lights. Additionally, another ensuite had a broken door, requiring the use of a blanket for privacy when the toilet was in use. One ensuite door had a broken handle. The house is spacious and can accommodate a substantial number of guests; however, these maintenance issues require attention.Please ensure the handrails are thoroughly cleaned, as they are currently sticky. Additionally, the carpet requires a deep cleaning. The door stoppers should be replaced with thicker ones to prevent damage from the heavy doors closing forcefully. To mitigate potential accidents, installing more robust door holders or stoppers is recommended. The Henry vacuum emitted an unpleasant odour during use. We also noted the absence of dishcloths, kitchen towels, and a dustpan and brush for sweeping. Furthermore, the external bins situated at the rear of the property were also a point of concern.The bins were already full from previous tenants, which was problematic as waste was piling up and attracted foxes at night, resulting in a significant mess. If you are going to rent your property to tenants for the holidays, it is essential to address these issues.

With regards to the bins, the trash is routinely collected, however, when it is overfills quickly, even if we book for collection we still depend on the service providers availability to do the collection. The property was situated within walking distance of the town centre and the beach which was really handy.

Not sure when the property was last cleaned but some of the towels had dirty brown stains on, the cooker was so dirty we dare not use it and there were loads of dead flies in one of the en suites. It also stated that the hot tub was emptied after each stay however it had loads of sand in the bottom so we did not use it. The general maintenance of the property was poor as there were door handles that were loose, sliding doors not on runners, some of the garden furniture was broken, the wheelie bins were missing and every time someone used any of the bathrooms the pipes were noisy, which was very annoying during the night. We were woken during our first night following an incident from the flats next door where the police, fire and ambulance service all had to attend. We payed nearly £1500 for 2 nights so was expecting a much higher standard, but unfortunately this was not the case. Due to these issues we wouldn't stay here again or recommend this property to our friends or family.

We stayed at bridlington bay house for 2 nights over the Easter weekend.

10 adults and 11 children. The house was huge with a large living room, dining room and games/chill room. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and tidy on arrival and had everything we needed. The hottub was brilliant. The only downside for us was there could have been some extra outdoor chairs to accommodate more people and a toilet on the ground floor. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back. The owners from the next door property was telling us how they always have trouble with the guests at bridlington bay as all their guests can here people running up and down the stairs all the time so can we keep quiet. This made us feel a little uneasy as we'd only just arrived at the property and was worried about having a large family. On departure he came out and told us he heard people going up and down the stairs, to which I told him there was 21 people in the house that was walking up and down the stairs as and when needed. No one was playing on the stairs or anything. I feel like this could put people off returning in the future although we know we wasn't loud it was just general day to day noise from that amount of people. Overall we had a brilliant stay. Great house, great location and great communication from skyes cottages aswell. Would reccomend.

We stayed at the Bridlington Day House for two nights in July to attend the Bridlington Beach Volleyball tournament and, overall, it has been an amazing experience.

Julie kindly provided all the details regarding the house and parking beforehand, which were really useful. The house is in a really nice and quiet area, just a few minutes away from the promenade on the beach and the piers. The house is really spacious and comfy, although it could definitely use renovation. Pros: - the hot tub was lovely - bedrooms were nice and spacious - kitchen was fully equipped - living rooms were really nice and spacious (it was nice to watch the games all together). - received really quick assistance when calling the emergency number (for a faulty tap). - did I mention the lovely hot tub? Cons: - a few of us had issues with showers, with low pressure and a bit of mould. - the handle of the main living room was faulty and couldn't be opened from the inside. - could have used a more spacious fridge (a bit small for 22 people ) and a few more bins. - some of the rooms had a shortage of toilet paper. - the blinds of one of the twin rooms were a bit faulty, which made it hard to open the window. Overall, we had a really good time at the house and we will surely reconsider it for next year

It sound like you had a lovely time and the house is certainly big enough to accommodate large multi-generational families. I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with the showers. Most of them are electric so if all were being used at the same time, that could have caused the pressure to drop. I appreciate your suggestion on an additional fridge freezer, the big American style one in the kitchen had lots of space but I will keep in mind that maybe need an additional one in the utility room. I'm surprised to hear that there was a shortage of toilet paper as we supply 2 in each one so that's 22 we supplied in total. The accommodation is self catering so we would expect guests to bring things like this themselves. If you are thinking of coming back to Bridlington next year we would love to welcome you back again.
