“This was our second visit to the emberton for our family of 8 plus 2 dogs.”

We had a wonderful long weekend celebrating my dad's 80th birthday. The property has a lovely homely feel, and has plenty of space for a large group to be together, but also areas to escape for a bit of peace! Some of the blind slats kept dropping off when opened, but apart from that, the decor and furnishings are sound and not at all tired looking like some properties we have stayed in. The garden is large and secure for dogs which is a huge bonus. There is room for 3 cars on the front, however ...

There is room for 3 cars on the front, however the kerb is only dropped at one side. The other side could really do with a ramp as it is a high kerb and my car struggled to get up it without burning rubber! The emberton is full of character, and is in an enviable location just a couple of minutes from the beach. It is lovely to see the sea from the living room and front bedrooms. We plan to have many more trips to the emberton in future. This was a special weekend, and one that required sunglasses instead of wellies which was an added bonus!

The property

Situated at the end of Bridlington’s sea front promenade, only 100 metres from the beach, is this well-positioned five-bedroom cottage, The Emberton at 9 Lime Kiln Lane.

Built in a 1930s modernist style, it is one of the most distinctive retro properties in Bridlington.

Just a stone's throw away from the sea, whilst boasting a contemporary living space, a private rear garden, spacious bedrooms, and sought-after off-road parking, the pet-friendly cottage is ideal for a group escape, nestled near a wealth of attractions.

Throughout The Emberton you will find all essential appliances to help you enjoy your self-catering stay to its fullest, whilst benefiting from flexible sleeping arrangements across both the first and second floor for nine guests.

Sea glimpses are also expected, across the east coast, displaying the cottage's nautical roots, whilst mixed with stylish furnishings and finishes.

Dine as a group, rest your eyes, unwind, relish in the sunshine, refresh, and make memories from your new home-from-home.

Heading into Bridlington along the seafront promenade, be welcomed by stretches of sandy shores, indefinitely providing the seaside experience, and tour the 'Old Town', brimming with restaurants, shops, and historic landmarks; take in your stunning surroundings by dining at Salt on the Harbour, or aboard the Yorkshire Belle to truly feel at one with the sea.

The Spa Theatre and Royal Hall provides evening entertainments all year round.

Being located at the end of Bridlington’s promenade, turn left outside the house to walk along the cliff tops to Sewerby village and Flamborough Head, with its coves and caves.

Bridlington South Beach is also on your doorstep, whilst Bridlington Animal Park offers a fun day out for all.

Travelling to Filey, a further popular town, tour its resident Museum, engage with different species at Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park, or hike across Filey Brigg, set at 20 metres high.

By car, you'll have the chance to visit Scarborough Castle, and its 3,000 years of history, discover sea turtles, explore penguin island, and observe 500 species of shark at SEA LIFE Scarborough, or perhaps locate Scarborough Art Gallery and its exhibit of fine art.

Experience a memorable stay in the East Riding of Yorkshire at The Emberton.

The seaside resort of Bridlington lies on the east coast of Yorkshire, south of Scarborough and Filey. Two award-winning beaches of golden sand stretch out on either side of the historic harbour, bustling with activity. Beautifully designed promenades provide everything from fun-fairs to quiet places where you can sit and watch the world go by. Shops, attractions, restaurants and the historic 'Old Town' of Bridlington offer a fascinating contrast to life on the beach, where the latest Dad's Army has been filmed, whilst the Bridlington Spa Theatre on the front provides evening entertainment. There is also the East Riding Leisure Centre, with family swimming area and a variety of other indoor activities. Further afield are the picturesque villages and scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds, the neighbouring resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby and the spectacular heritage coastline. There are numerous places to visit in the area, including Bempton's RSPB bird sanctuary, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves.
