“Really lovely cottage, very clean and beautifully decorated.”

Super warm house too! Especially the attic bedroom. Great location - we walked the river to Whitby for the day. Parking was a bit of a concern but when we arrived there is a small patch of land on Linden Close where people park and there are no signs/restrictions up. You can’t park next to the cottage as the owner doesn’t own that land. You could park on the same road on the opposite side too if you didn’t mind parking on the road. At the other side, a beautiful contemporary kitchen has been designed to a lovely standard, elevated by pendant lighting and a skylight, for an all-round elegant feel.

The first floor houses a family bathroom finished with a roll-top bath and a white suite that encourages you to unwind after a long day.

A single bedroom and a double are all you need for a peaceful sleep, knitted together with soft furnishings, bedside lamps and a calming neutral style.

For more of this, the double bedroom is accessed from a second flight of stairs, tucked away with its hillside views and A-frame ceiling that creates a cosy little hideaway.

About the location

BRIGGSWATH

Whitby 2 miles; Pickering 17 miles.

Briggswath is a quiet neighbourhood in a sought-after part of the village of Sleights, resting on the north side of the River Esk, and is named after one of the medieval bridges. The village used to be part of the parish of Aislaby, which sits above it on the edge of the moors, but is now part of the parish of Eskdaleside-cum-Ugglebarnby, forming a small triangle on the north side of the Esk. The village contains a Wesleyan chapel built in 1820. A wide range of shops, primary schools (at both Sleights and Ruswarp), a church and doctor's surgery make up the charming location. Briggswath lies approximately two miles from Whitby and 17 miles from the market town of Pickering, with plenty more amenities and attractions to explore.
