Beautiful cottage in a quiet and peaceful location.

Good transport links if you want to leave the car. Less than a 5 minute walk to the bus stop and train station. Cottage well maintained, good selection of kitchen utensils & equipment. Spacious and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom and fabulous shower. Heating was efficient and effective. The only criticism we had was some attention to detail in the cleaning . Dusty jars in the bathroom and in the loft behind the bedside units the skirting boards were covered in dust and hair which was a little off putting. But this does not take away from what was a really comfortable and spacious cottage that easily accommodated 4 adults and a baby. The welcome pack was also very much appreciated.

From start to finish we had a lovely stay. The cottage is cute and cosy and has everything you need. The location is good with lots of sights to see nearby. We'll definitely be returning.

We really loved the cottage.

It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We thought the location was really good and we loved the local butchers and bakers. I only reduced the cleanliness score slightly because there was so much crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment it would be impossible for the cleaners to check the previous users had cleaned them. For example, some plates and kitchen equipment was not clean. Minor.

This cottage is a lovely place.

We had a great time at Harriet’s cottage.

There were four adults and one child and we all had plenty of space and two bathrooms was enough for us. Good location, easy link to Whitby and surrounding areas. Very pretty and quiet. House was also very clean and the kitchen especially was lovely.

The cottage is comfy warm and like a home from home very cosy and well equipped. Owner is very accommodating too. Highly recommend.

The host was very helpful, providing a cot and highchair, saving a lot of car space! House is well equipped with all you need in the kitchen, 3 good size bedrooms and a spacious sitting room. Overall a great property for a family catch up!

A lovely property with absolutely everything you need provided.

High quality electricals and smart TV meant you can very quickly make a cuppa and settle down to your favourite youtubers on a rainy morning! Lovely welcome pack. Beautiful bathrooms and kitchen. Very handy for the station and the excellent Bothams bakery saving having to drive into the super busy Whitby. Would definitely return!

Really lovely cottage, very clean and beautifully decorated.

Super warm house too! Especially the attic bedroom. Great location - we walked the river to Whitby for the day. Parking was a bit of a concern but when we arrived there is a small patch of land on Linden Close where people park and there are no signs/restrictions up. You can’t park next to the cottage as the owner doesn’t own that land. You could park on the same road on the opposite side too if you didn’t mind parking on the road. If you wanted to drive into Whitby, the owner of the cottage has left a parking disc so you can park for free there!

Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location to explore the area.

House perfect for family of 5 and a dog and renovated to a high standard. Property had everything you need and communication with host extremely easy. Would highly recommend.

This is a high spec & well appointed cottage with beautiful decor.

Its probably the best we have stayed in from 30+ cottage breaks. Ideal placed for visiting Whitby, Staithes & Robin Hoods Bay. Really generous welcome pack on arrival too. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

This cottage is good value for money.

It’s a nice cottage in a nice place. However it is a little tired now and could do with updating in places. I e the double bedroom is in need of re decorating and new flooring or carpet. Paint work in many places needs doing. Also not blaming the cleaning of the cottage because I know that it is limited with time for each cottage but it really needs a deep clean. Jobs that normally can’t be done because of time. All said we had a nice stay and May stay again but would like some improvement.

This was our second visit to Harriets Cottage and it was just like being at home.

A genuinely comfortable cottage, with all the facilities you would need to make your stay perfect. A great location, close enough to Whitby, without being on top of the town.

Beautifully decorated with every comfort thought of. Its location is a peaceful village very close to many facilities. Local shops, cafes pubs and public transport.

The pots and pans are very old and worn and a shortage of teaspoons! Overall we enjoyed our stay, a great location.

We had a lovely time at Harriet’s cottage, such a pretty cottage beautifully presented and in such a lovely area.

Would recommend anyone to stay here and so handy for the train station as well. My only small criticism is that the pan’s really need replaced and a few more glasses would be useful but other than that our stay was perfect.

This is our 5th stay at Harriet’s over the years, and is lovely as always, one thing is the internet can be faulty, as it kept going off for 10-20 seconds numerous times, I think the router may need replacing.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning part of the world.

The cottage is nicely decorated, warm, comfortable and fully equipped with everything you could require. Lots of things to do in the area and plenty of walks for dogs and humans too. Thank you for the biscuits, Prosecco and flowers, what a lovely touch. We would definitely love to return very soon.

Close to the hustle and bustle of Whitby which we ventured into on the Saturday … Little family break that allowed us to chill out and spend time with loved ones with comfy open plan living and dining and comfy beds to end our days.

This is our fifth stay at Harriets Cottage and we love it here!

Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds with good quality bedding. Powerful shower and comfortable lounge with smart tv and excellent Wi-Fi a real home from home. Within easy reach of Whitby and surrounding areas with parking right opposite. We’ve stayed in many cottages over the years and Harriets cottage is by far the best. Very generous welcome pack and thoughtful owners. Thank you for another lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage, has everything you could need and appointed with good quality furnishings, making the stay that much nicer and ensuring an restful sleep. Excellent position, lovely village, minutes from Whitby, we loved The stables for a meal, only 5mins drive. Whitby is so gorgeous, every time we visited we found something new to see. Would recommend this property, we have stopped in many cottages over the years and this one there is literally nothing I could fault. Thank you

This cottage is one of the best we have stayed in.

We had a really relaxing stay here. It was so nice to come back to in the evening with lovely warm heating throughout. It's in a good location for visiting local seaside towns and North Yorkshire attractions. There was so much to do and we ran out of time but we will be back to Harriet's Cottage. We certainly do recommend this property.

Absolutely beautiful property, clean and tidy upon arrival, kitchen had everything we needed, the only thing that I could fault is the back garden area could do with a little clean up but it was no issue.

Harriet ‘s cottage is a beautiful holiday cottage that has been renovated and furnished to a high standard .

The location is amazing. Easy access to country and coast. Good quality welcome pack much appreciated. All in all a very nice cottage to stay and we would be delighted to return. Only one problem there is a cleanliness issue. Some areas needs serious cleaning attention. We sent Friday evening and Saturday morning cleaning. Which sadly does leave an impact to your weeks holiday overshadowing how nice it could have been. Please get intouch to discuss the areas of cleaning that need serious attention. We feel saddened to have to say this about such a beautiful cottage if this was my cottage I would want to be informed of this. Deborah

We have stayed in many cottages up and down the country - this was without a doubt THE nicest one yet.

Facilities were perfect and a great location.

Harriets Cottage has been well renovated to provide comfortable, well equipped, and spotlessly clean accommodation.

The property had been beautifully renovated to a high standard and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

A lovely touch was having a bottle of prosecco and Halloween biscuits waiting for us on arrival. A couple of things that could have been clearer; We booked the property because it said in the details it was 2 miles from Whitby and it might well be as the crow flies. We were hoping to walk in but by road it was nearer to 3.5 miles and some of the roads had no pavements or street lighting so that was a bit disappointing. The other thing that wasn't an issue but was unclear was the parking. We brought 2 cars and parked one on the road and one at the side of the property. It did say no parking but we thought that was because it was parking for the property. A very polite neighbour asked us to move it but perhaps if something was written inside the property that would have been avoided. We did have a lovely weekend stay and the property is beautiful and well equipped.

The house is done to such a good standard and is very comfortable! I thought that the rooms were actually bigger than what they looked in the photos!

Harriet's cottage is, without doubt, the best cottage we have visited in the last 5 years.

The quality of the cottage, including all of the fixtures and fittings was excellent and contributed to a really homely feeling. For the first time, in all of our Sykes holidays, there was nothing missing, in terms of cooking utensils. That might seem like an odd comment but means a lot to us. The location was also great, a lovely little village, with just the right amenities and perfectly placed for visiting Whitby and the surrounding area. Harriet's really is a cottage that we can't wait to come back to.

Very comfortable cottage in a pleasant location.

Nice garden centre with a good selection of plants and cafe just round the corner and miniature steam railway just down the road serving lovely fresh food. The railway station was a 5 minute walk away and only 2 stops got you into Whitby.

The cottage was brilliant, plenty of space for the 6 of us.

A couple of things missing, maybe a clothes airer or washing line, and perhaps a bbq. Apart from that we would definitely stay here again.

This cottage is beautiful, we have stayed previously and again the interior, cleanliness are of good quality.

Sadly, this visit was significantly impacted by the development work adjacent (outside the back door) to the property. We were woken early Monday- Friday before 8 am, on most days before 7.30 by the work men arriving, large construction material deliveries and one day by the emptying of their portable toilet being drained. The weather has been amazing and very hot, but again we were not able to leave the windows open due to the noise (loud music) and excess dust that was created by the cutting of stone and brick. We have tended to leave the property during their working hours to avoid the large diggers, excavator and lifting machinery. We would have appreciated some prior notice of the impact of the building work before our stay.

We where lucky enough to spend two nights at Harriets cottage.

It was lovely to relax and chill! We had some lovely walks around the village, up to the plough pub and visited Whitby. The parking clock was handy and used, thank you! We will certainly be back with our children.

Fantastic Place, real home from home, exceptionally clean, there was nothing missed, so much thought has gone into this beautiful cottage, location was excellent, easy to find and convenient to get around, we could not have asked for more, will 100% rebook in the future, an absolute credit to the owners, genuine 5 star experience!

We loved the shabby chic feel. There was plenty of crockery and lovely cups and saucers and a nice coffee machine which made it feel more like a hotel stay. Having a 2 year old with us we spent most of the day out at nearby Whitby, Scarborough and other coastline locations as there is so much to do nearby and then evenings snuggled up cooking and listening to music or having a nice bath. The parking disc was a fantastic touch as we used that often to go into Whitby for an afternoon stroll or snack. We would definitely return.

Amazing stay at Harriets Cottage, she really has thought of everything!

In particular we loved the open fire and the kitchen, I’ve never seen so many quality pots and pans! Would recommend food and drink at The Stables which is about 2 miles down the road and would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone!

Harriets cottage was perfect for our holiday.

It’s location is great, close to the beach & Whitby. Perfect for exploring the moors & exploring the countryside. The beds were really comfortable & there was a lovely welcome bottle of bubbly waiting when we arrived. We love Yorkshire & will definitely be back for another holiday.

Great holiday cottage in an ideal location for my wife and I plus our Yorkshire terriers to explore the Esk Valley and Whitby.

We have spent the most idyllic few days at Harriet's cottage celebrating our birthdays and we couldn't be more happier.

The property is lovely and just what we hoped for us and our 14 month old baby. Beautiful decor and functionality of all rooms. Beds are super comfy. Owners are amazing and dealing with queries promptly and efficiently. We have created some amazing memories and had fantastic time. We even cooked a full roast dinner with all the trimmings one day with such an ease. And this was all done with a very active baby in tow. Would recommend to all our family and friends and we definitely will be returning. Thank you so very much!!!

Had a fabulous stay.

The cottage is warm cosy and extremely well equipped especially the kitchen including a top of the range coffee machine which we really enjoyed! Lovely shower room with extremely powerful shower. Beds very comfy and beautiful tasteful furnishings throughout the whole cottage. It’s the best cottage that we’ve stayed in over 15 years of coming to this area and have already booked for next year. The flowers cake and chocolates were a very nice touch thank you. Would highly recommend.

It is situated in a lovely village in a quiet location. For a family of four it was perfect.

Very disappointed.

House was very dusty and dirty ,we had to hoover all over as soon as we arrived . No windows opened so was very condensated all the time .There was barely enough kindle and wood for one fire considering the weather this was very poor .Took us an age to work out how to use the DIRTY oven so never used it again . Folding back the sheets in the single bed to find long black hairs in it . Toothpaste marks all over wall behind sink and on the unit . Not the cleanliness we are used to in sykes cottages and totally spoilt our break away .

We had a really nice stay at Harriet’s cottage.

It’s in a great location for accessing Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay and other destinations a little further away such as Scarborough and Bridlington. The only thing that let it down for us was the cleanliness of the cottage. The floors of the bathroom and wet room looked like they needed a good mop and the rug in the front room really needs replacing, it was covered in stains and full of dog hair - not great when you want to put your baby down to play. It was also a little tired in places and could do with a little touching up. We also had an issue with the WiFi whilst we were there, so had no access until our last full day. However this was something that was rectified as soon as possible by the owner.

We had no internet throughout the holiday.

I think a place to hang coats at the entrance of the cottage would be helpful. Also either a clothes line, or an clothes rack to dry things that you can’t put in a tumble dryer. Needed high level dusting, cobwebs and dust on glass light fittings. However I assess clinical areas for cleaning so have high expectations! Thought the cottage was lovely and furnished well. We had a good holiday

The cottage is absolutely amazing.

It takes your breath away when you step foot through the front door, it certainly exceeded my expectations. All of the attention to detail inside makes it so comforting. The location was also great, literally a five minute drive from Whitby. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone wanting a great base from which to travel from.

Spent a week at Harriet cottage, the cottage was amazing, nothing was missing that we might have needed from the kitchen.

Lounge was really comfortable, even had alexa and spare ipad phone plug. Beds extremely comfortable. Loved the wood burner, and I am now an expert in lighting them. Really could not have asked for more, we will be back I am sure.

Such a brilliant holiday in a truly beautiful cottage.

Harriet’s has been restored to such a high level and included everything we needed for our week in Whitby. No negatives whatsoever, even with 5 adults and 2 golden retrievers we all fitted into the cottage and within a few days it felt like home. Local train and bus into Whitby were a short walk from the cottage. You’re surrounded by pubs and stunning walks across the moors, Whitby is only a 10 minutes drive, wonderful dog friendly beaches. When I return to Whitby I will definitely be staying at Harriet’s! Thank you!

We absolutely loved this cottage it felt so homely.

I loved the decor.There was everything we needed and everything you could think of at hand.Lovely welcome pack with treats from Bothams. The beds were really comfy. The whole house was spotless. Loved the christmas tree. Great location.Our dogs loved it,they were tired out so enjoyed snoozing infront of the logburner on a night. We'll definately be returning.

The house was great.

The offered more than was in the listing. They provided wood for the fire and also coffee, tea and a selection of cakes which was lovely. We all had a great time, and we would like to go back once they have put in a shower in the property (which was the only down point). Would recommend!!

Me and my husband stayed at Harriet’s cottage for a week!

All I can say is the cottage is amazing. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard. We felt it had everything we needed and more. The area surrounding the cottage is beautiful we had lovely walks and whitby is only a 9 minutes drive away. Parking is no issue, there is plenty on space on the opposite side of the road for cars. We will definitely be returning next year. Also there is a fantastic butchers and bakers up the road! Everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Harriet's Cottage is a stunning cottage.

It is beautifully furnished with high quality bed linen and towels. We loved it. We really appreciated the Welcome tray filled with goodies. The bath provides a heavenly soak after a busy day. A shower would be a wonderful addition and I believe this is being considered for next year. There is a large selection of DVD's and games should you want them. There is lots to see and do for all ages. There is something for everyone. With a 15 year old who loves history and WW2 Eden camp was a must, Goathland was well worth a visit and there is a lovely garden centre at the end of the road with outdoor seating for a cup of tea and a slice of cake as well as being a walkers paradise. We would like to thank the owners for letting us stay in such a pretty cottage.

Enjoyable holiday staying with daughter and granddaughter in this pretty cottage.

Very stylishly furnished and well equipped with a lovely kitchen. The little back yard was big enough to eat out in and we didn't miss a garden as the weather was so beautiful we were out every day. We appreciated the generous welcome pack thankyou. Briggswath and Sleights is a great location for exploring the coast from Staithes to Scarborough and inland to the moors. We grew up in this area so it's wonderful to be able to revisit it with the younger generations.

It was a lovely modernised, comfy cottage in a good location to explore the moors, Whitby and Robin Hood bay, we enjoyed a good mix of lovely walks and lazy mornings, with our little dog.

The owners were helpful and are aware that the addition of a shower would be an asset. On street parking was never a problem, lots of space.

The cottage was beautifully furnished with above and beyond textiles and furnishings.

Never stayed in a holiday cottage like it. It was clean, modern and finished to the highest standard. Great location for accessing local amenities and places such as Whitby, Sandsend and Staithes. Not ideal however if you had children, the house is furnished in white (it even has a cream carpet) and practically no out door space.

It was a gorgeous cottage, everything you could want or need and so well located in such a lovely area.

The neighbours over the road were lovely and we shared a love for dogs although the neighbours behind were quite angry and rude which was a shame. But clearly just not nice people. We did have washing stole from the back garden also but still would recommend and return anytime!

The village is lovely with a steam train that passes through daily . The cottage is kitted out with high end kitchen equipment and quality beds and linen . The only thing missing is a shower which I believe the owners will add next year .

My little girl stayed in the middle of all the fluffy pillows in the loft room, her "princess room"!! Really close to the sea, close to good walks and really nice pubs, bakers, butchers and fish and chips!!
