The Nook is a beautiful cottage.

A lot of thought has gone in to make the cottage comfortable, well equipped and homely. We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Nook, from the lovely welcome pack to the Hot Tub, which we used alot, the Grandson loves a Hot Tub !

! The cottage was ideally situated for trips to Whitby, Bridlington, Filey and of course Scarborough. The owner called by to see if everthing was ok, which was a nice touch !! We would highly recommend to anyone

A wonderful home from home experience.

We have stayed at The Nook several times and it always feels so welcoming. The village is beautiful and a stones throw away from Whitby and Scarborough.

We had a lovely week exploring area with two young kids and a dog.

Very handy bus service to both Whitby and Scarborough from right outside the accommodation. Lovely property, plenty of space for everyone. Fantastic welcome gift (best we have ever received and we have stayed in a lot of cottages over the years) so thank you very much!! Hot tub was a bonus

The Nook is such a lovely holiday cottage and super well equipped for everything you would need during your stay.

Perfect location for beach walks at North Bay and the surrounding area so pretty. The garden is fully enclosed and not overlooked at all, and I LOVED the gas range in the kitchen. Hot tub an absolutely perfect addition and really aided our relaxation. Owner super nice - he checked in with us on day one and then left us to it. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely long weekend.

! What a beautiful cottage this is! Lovely, clean, comfortable, enough space for 4 adults. We brought our springer with us and she loved the garden (she doesn’t jump over walls so that was fine for us). The hot tub was brilliant, warm enough for a typical evening in June (overcast

Beautiful property, we had a very comfortable stay.

We didn't take our dog away with us this time, but the garden wouldn't be ideal for our dog, the walls are low, not ideal for a medium to large breed dog that likes to be adventurous. We would definitely recommend the cottage to others.

We had a lovely stay at the Nook!

It catered for all our needs and our son enjoyed his birthday there too. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the location was perfect for a quick walk down to a secluded rocky beach, which was a hit with our 9 year old. We couldn’t really use the garden sadly, as the wall was too low to secure our very nosy, bouncy young dog! But to be fair, it was too hot anyway during the heatwave! Paul also saved us when my husband forgot his jacket and wallet! He was so good as to post it home to us the same day - life saver!! Thank you Paul! Would recommend

Lovely house and the host was great.

Very comfortable and quite central so just a short drive to places to visit. The only thing is we came on a bank holiday and the pub next door was quiet loud until late a night. Apart from that the house was perfect. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

What a beautiful cottage.

The property is spacious and comfortable with everything you could need for your stay. Loads of character and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The location is spot on with walks from the doorstep and a very friendly pub next door. Scarborough is just down the road with plenty on offer. Would recommend the Peaches and Cream ice cream parlour at the North Bay! Only thing I would mention is that the property has a separate down stairs WC which isn't listed on the description. Was a nice surprise as we were only expecting one toilet! Big thank you to the owner for the lovely welcome basket and for sorting the couple of small issues right away on arrival. Will definitely be booking here again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is our 4th visit and its still a very impressive property and we had a gorgeous stay.

The garden has had some work on it which was lovely and we loved the picnic bench. The weather was really good for February which was a bonus. Overall another wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning soon.

We stay at cottages and houses often and 100 percent will be back. I’d say it’s the best we’ve ever stayed in. Great location, great communication, great value and everything you could ever need! 5 stars!

The cottage is cosy warm beautifully furnished and very clean also ideally situated for the Cleveland way walking and a good bus route, it's the second time we have stayed there and I am sure we will be back.

Staying at Paul's accommodation (The Nook) was a first class experience!

The cottage was warm and inviting on arrival with a few special treats laid on. Any minor enquiries while staying were responded to very promptly. The cottage is spacious, well kitted out and combined a cosy feel with plenty of room. The hot tub was great as we're the local walks (to the nearby waterfall was about 2 miles and just right for us). Eating places were plentiful, from next door or 3 mins walk, to a short drive. We particularly enjoyed an eatery in the quirky Robin Hood's Bay only 20 mins away. Paul well deserves his high rating for this superbly renovated and maintained property!

Nothing much further to add to all the complimentary remarks made previously in the visitors book; all very comfy and cosy, especially the living room.

However, if only to be picky, we did miss a teapot (for our Yorkshire tea!) and a coffee pot or cafetière would also have been useful. No shaving mirror above the wash basin(!?). Wish we'd known about Thursdays fish & chips night at the Red Lion (!).

What a wonderful place this is, very quiet, cosy and very clean.

It has everything you need for your stay. Paul, the owner, is a very nice and helpful man. It has good heating and a hot tub too. Comphy bed and a very hot bath. The Local pub just across from the cottage is very nice too, serves food at lunchtime and is very quiet at night. Bus stop at the end of the drive towards Whitby and over the road to Scarborough. Booked already for next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Nook.

It is in a great location within a short distance of lots of places of interest and lovely walks. The place itself was spotless and equipped with everything you need plus thoughtful touches by the owner who was on hand if there was anything extra you needed. It has a lovely enclosed garden which is a sun trap (great for our dog), comfy beds with good bed linen and a brilliant hot tub. What more could you ask for? Many thanks to the owner and his team, we will be back

We had a great holiday here and highly recommend.

However we would have liked an information pack, the garden could have been maintained more with a use of a garden table. However we really enjoyed the comfy house and bonus of the hot tub. Thank you for the food basket and milk for a welcomed cuppa after a long journey. We will mention to friends and family if they come to North Yorkshire for a break away.

This property was first class.

A fantastic stay, I can’t recommend this cottage highly enough.

From the welcome pack from Paul to the comforts of the cottage ensuring our week was everything we hoped for. Visits to Runswick Bay, Bridlington, Scarborough to mention a few not hindered by the high winds that occurred. Would definitely book again.

My sister and I have stopped here several times and absolutely love it and have more trips booked already.

The cottage is delightful and beautifully presented and the hot tub is a real bonus. The location is perfect for exploring this area and you can walk and get on the Cinder track and Cleveland way without going out in the car. There are several nice places to eat within the area. The owner Paul is great. Always available and leaves a really nice welcome pack and treats for the 4 legged friends too. Can’t wait to go back.

An absolute gem of a holiday cottage.

So warm, clean and comfortable and in a perfect location for the coast and countryside. The very friendly and helpful owner came to visit on the first evening to check everything was okay and had provided a generous welcome basket of treats including some for our dog! We had a really lovely short break and recommend this cottage very highly.

Fantastic character property,well presented!

Hot tub is a welcome extra after a long day walking the dog! Perfect location,out of the way and literally a stones throw from the pub,which unfortunately we didn't get chance to indulge this time!! The only small negative was the height of the side stone wall in the back garden which our dog found great pleasure in scaling which meant we couldn't fully relax when in the hot tub,saying that we would highly recommend and would love to return.

What a lovely little find “The Nook” was.

It had everything we needed for a fabulous weekend away. So cosy and plenty of walks from the front door with our dog Riley although Scarborough and Bemton Cliffs are not far away. Just a tip take some bird seed for the birds which there is a variety. Also the garden was fully enclosed so didn’t have to worry about the Riley the dog exploring whilst we were in the hot tub. Don’t let the pub next door put you off no noise what so ever & Paul the owner was very accommodating but not intrusive. Wouldn’t hesitate coming back to “The “Nook in the summer months so we could sit outside in the garden with a drink.

Absolutely stunning house and location.

..lovely walks along the Cinder Path. Facilities in the house were lovely. Such a stunning home, warm, cozy and quirky. Right next door to a pub which is an added bonus as well as the hot tub. Host was very friendly and welcoming, and locals friendly too. Would definitely recommend to friends and would definitely return ☺️

An excellent property in every aspect, comfort, cleanliness, position, owner, everything We have just had 5 nights in this property over Xmas 2024 we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time there.

Absolutely stunning cottage.

Beautifully furnished, very comfortable, warm & cosy. Lovely comfortable bed with quality bedding. Fab bathroom with a good size bath and powerful overhead shower. There is a good size oven and ample pots & pans for cooking with. Washing machine which we didn’t need to use but good to see one there. Great secure garden for the dog and a hot tub that we didn’t get to use as it was a tad cold outside! The cottage and garden were immaculately clean and very welcoming. Lots of nice goodies on a welcome tray, even some treats for the dog which was a lovely touch. This was really appreciated. Paul the owner stopped by on our first day to introduce himself & check everything was OK for us. This place was a real home from home and we didn’t want to leave. Already booked a return visit, hopefully the weather will be kinder and we’ll get to try the hot tub!

We did have an issue with the hot tub which was resolved and did not affect our stay. Can't wait to visit again

Stunning cottage in great location, cosy and comfortable, really felt the heritage of the cottage with a lovely hot tub that was the icing on the cake.

A beautiful cottage, home from home!

This was our second visit, already booked again for next year!

The Nook is a beautiful well appointed cottage.

It has everything you would want with the hot tub being a real bonus. The welcome basket was much appreciated including the dog treats. The cottage is very comfortable and it has a lovely small garden which our dog loved. It was a nice touch that the owner popped over to make sure everything was alright. It is located in a great position to get to anywhere in the area. We went to the nearby pub, which is not noisy, and found the regulars very friendly. If you are 6ft tall, take note of the mind your head signs. It took me a while. The only thing missing, and it might be that I just didn't see it, was an information folder telling what goes in what bin and what to do with towels and bed linen when leaving, maybe information on restaurants/takeaways and directions to nearby walks or parks. Very minor and I would highly recommend The Nook for anyone coming to the area

Lovely spacious cottage, set back off main road.

Clean and tidy all through, nicely decorated whilst retaining original features, plenty of room for 4 people, comfortable bed with nice bedding and kitchen you can actually cook a meal in (Huge oven and hob) with everything we needed. Nice sun trap of a garden, private parking a huge bonus.

Fantastic house with everything you need and more. Hot tub was amazing and garden is gorgeous. Great location and super bus service into Whitby. Having the Red Lion pub next door is great and Gary the landlord is very helpful. We loved it that much we booked it another twice while we were there!! Thanks again Paul and we'll see you soon!!!

The cottage was lovely for a long weekend stay with plenty to do locally; it is very convenient for the pub next door which also offers live music.

I can highly recommend The Nook if you are after a cosy comfortable place to explore Scarborough and surrounding areas. The cottage has everything you need for a perfect getaway and a hot tub too as an added bonus to relax in at the end of your day. The welcome basket was a fabulous surprise and so generous and Alfie our little dog loved his treats in it too . The landlord in the red lion pub next door was very welcoming on our arrival . We first stayed at the Nook in February of this year and enjoyed our stay so much that we booked again for this April visit.

The cottage is one of the best I have ever stayed in being homely, well furnished, very warm and extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for touring the area and offers great walks from the front door. Coming home to soak our weary bodies in the hot tub is indeed the icing on the cake. We are returning to the cottage again ( twice) next year as we really cannot recommend it highly enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Nook cottage, it was spacious but cosy.

The welcome treats were yummy with even something for our dog. It was very clean with everything you need for a relaxing break you really only need to take your food and toiletries. It is in a great area with lovely walks from the doorstep. We highly recommend staying at this gorgeous cottage it is a gem. The owner Paul was lovely and accommodating after we had car trouble and arrived a day late. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

Beautiful decor, warm and very comfortable.Paul was lovely & helpful the couple of times we met him. Super welcome hamper for us and the dog which was much appreciated. Fantastic walks from the door and places to visit locally. The house location although on the High Street we found to be quiet and we all slept really well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again to visit. The Nook comes highly recommended.

There is just one problem with our stay at The Nook, I wish we had been there longer!

!!! A true find. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the decor is divine. Could not have asked for more. Paul the owner was great, so helpful and informative. Private off road parking and a lovely garden to enjoy time in the hot tub. Total relaxation. Excellent welcome hamper too. Cloughton is a great spot to go off walking or catch the bus to Whitby or Scarborough. We will definitely book The Nook again! Thank you Paul.

What a fabulous cottage.

My sister and I had a wonderful time here. It is so cozy especially when the log burner is roaring. Beautifully furnished and accessorised and very well equipped. It’s situated in a lovely village with easy access to Scarborough and all along the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. A luxury was the hot tub after a day of long walks. A beautiful welcome pack was left and milk in the fridge. Even treats for the dog. We have already booked to come again.

Great location in the centre of the village.

Property has been modernised/renovated to a high standard and is very spacious. The hot tub is a great added bonus!! Great parking spot too. All in all, a perfect long weekend for us and our dog!

We had a fantastic week here during February half term.

The cottage is simply beautiful and very well equipped. Our teenage children loved the table football and the hot tub was very welcome after returning from the many walks that are available from the doorstep. You can walk to the coast in less than 15 minutes and the views are fantastic. There are a great selection of pubs en route and, of course, the one next door, which offered us a very friendly welcome. We are already looking forward to returning.

Absolutely beautiful property.

we spent our nye here (23/24).clean and well looked after,recieved a welcome hamper on arrival,logs for the fire and it had everything from toiletries to kichen requirements.the property is honestly breathtaking and idyllic.would definitely reccomend and will be returning in the summer.the only downswing was mother nature but it meant we could cosy up for longer in the cottage.loved our stay,not a bad thing to mention.the owner was repliant with any questions we asked.....if the owner can see this review please give me a call if you decide to see this property!!!!
