“What an amazing place!”

! This is probably the best we’ve stayed in. My parents live in Hornsea, which is about 10 minutes drive away, so this was the ideal location for us. The Old Stable is beautiful!! It’s got everything you could possibly need. Rosie came to say Hello as we arrived, which was lovely. Then we entered the gorgeous property to freshly baked bread, eggs, milk, OJ and shortbread!! The bread is divine. Thanks, such a thoughtful welcome pack. The whole property is clean and so welcoming. The beds are comfy. Loved the kitchen. And I loved all the pigs everywhere, especially the utensils holder in the kitchen. It is so peaceful. A true home from home. We will definitely be back, thanks so much!!

“The Old Stable is situated in a quiet rural location outside the village of Great Hatfield.”

The accommodation is very spacious and well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and helpful providing bread, milk, juice and delicious shortbread biscuits for our arrival. Mapleton beach is a short drive away and there is a large supermarket on the way into Horsea. Thoroughly recommended for a peaceful rural holiday.

“This is a lovely stable conversion that feels anything but!”

It has loads of room and the beds are comfy with the added bonus of one bedroom and a walk in shower on the ground floor for anyone with mobility issues. The property is clean, well equipped and well maintained. A good location for exploring the surrounding areas with plenty of places to visit. Old Hull and the museum quarter we're a revelation! Happily recommend.

“Lovely accommodation with gratefully received welcome hamper on arrival.”

The home made bread was particularly lovely. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked with crockery cutlery and cooking utensils. We particularly enjoyed watching the barn owl each day hunting its prey and the roe deer and brown hares were very conspicuous also. Rosie and James made us feel very welcome. Would love to revisit.

We arrived to fresh bread ( which Rosie kindly gave us the recipe for ) and other goodies. The property has been beautifully converted with lots of attention to detail. We loved being immersed in the wildlife. Such a peaceful setting for it. We will definitely visit again if we get the chance.

“We had a lovely stay here.”

The cottage is down a long stone track through fields where we saw deer and rabbits. We were welcomed by the owner on arrival and there was a lovely welcome pack. The sofas were comfortable and the kitchen had all the equipment you need. It was handy to have walk in showers and bedrooms on both floors. The location was good for exploring the coast. We would love to return.

“We very much enjoyed our stay at The Old Stable.”

The heating was on for our arrival & the welcome pack was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The property was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Rosie quickly resolved a temporary tv issue (might have been user error?) and we had a lovely time. We visited Burton Agnes Hall, Burton Constable Hall, Humber Bridge Country Park, Spurn Point, Hornsea, Mappleton Beach and Beverley. Our favourite was the Hessle Foreshore Walk which on a sunny, albeit cold, day had lovely views and was relaxing. Thankyou for a lovely restful break

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables.”

The location was excellent; plenty of privacy, tranquil and very relaxing. We contacted James one of the Owners regarding turning on the heating, he responded immediately. No other concerns surfaced. The Welcoming pack was really appreciated. The beds were really comfortable and the bedding of very good quality. We were lucky with the weather and manged to visit the Coast every day. We would strongly recommend a visit to nearby Beverley: the Saturday market is brilliant. We would definitely return. Many thanks to Rosie and James.

“A beautiful property, love the beams & high ceilings.”

We had a great stay at The old Stable. So peaceful & relaxing. All you could hear were birds & horses. The property had everything you could need while on holiday. The beds/ mattress' were so comfortable, we slept really well. The food/treat package was a lovely touch. Great to have 2 separate lovely bathrooms & ideal with 1 bedroom & bathroom downstairs. Slight downside as previously mentioned a bit more attention to detail of the cleaning, though we appreciate it's in the countryside. Thanks for a lovely stay.

“The directions need modifying.”

Thank you for the feed back.. we will notify Sykes who provided the directions...fortunately you were able to find us as we also provided a what3words link, contact number via text on the day of arrival should you have any problems with directions and we are visible on Google maps. We are sorry you did not find the mattress to your liking.. we understand everyone is different which is why we provide "Tempur" mattresses which are designed to mould to any shape but may be more supportive then you are used to. “We had a wonderful, relaxing two weeks in this beautiful cottage.”

There was nothing we would change. The seating and the beds were very very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Rosie is lovely and checked on us once to make sure we were happy (which we were) and then left us to our own devices (which is how we like it). We had her phone number if we wanted anything. Altogether a happy time was had by all three of us.

“Absolutely thrilled with every aspect of our holiday property.”

The Old Stable is a spacious, well laid out cottage with high ceilings and a contemporary finish. The kitchen is large and contains everything you need, the dining table accommodates 8 people and the living room is welcoming and would seat everyone comfortably. The master bedroom is gorgeous; the Juliet balcony frames the setting sun perfectly. The second bedroom is a reasonable size double and both bathrooms are clean, stylish and have lots of surface space for your bits and pieces. The sunny courtyard has a table and chairs for you to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The parking is close to your front door so loading and unloading the car is easy and convenient. We loved our short stay at The Old Stable and look forward to coming back in the future.

“On walking through the kitchen door we realised what a special property the Old Stables is, in a quiet rural setting yet within a few minutes drive to the coast.”

A gorgeous renovation of former stables, the property is huge with only the highest standard of fixtures, fittings and equipment; incredibly powerful showers, fluffy white towels, crisp white bedlinen and the comfiest beds we have ever slept in! The owner even left a wonderful welcome basket along with milk and butter in the fridge and was happy to help with any queries we had. The only downside was the damp and windy weather but with this gorgeous retreat to come back to it didn't really spoil our break! Thank you, Rosie and James

The pretty seaside town of Hornsea lies on the East Coast, 15 miles south of Bridlington. This old Victorian resort has long, wide, safe sandy beaches and an attractive promenade with well-kept gardens, ideal for families. The bustling town centre has an old-fashioned feel with a good variety of small shops, pubs and cafes, whilst nearby Hornsea Mere is the largest natural lake in Yorkshire and offers sailing, fishing and boat trips. Hornsea Freeport is popular for shopping, whilst Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve can be reached in just over half an hour's drive, offering one of the largest mainland puffin populations in Britain. Hornsea is near to Wassand Hall and walled gardens and provides a good base for touring the Yorkshire Wolds, the North York Moors and the East Riding coastal resorts.
