“Another lovely stay at the Sea Front Apartment, my 3rd.”

Lois, the owner is lovely, and kept in touch throughout our stay. There was a nice little welcome pack, and milk in the fridge, thanks very much. Jane and Lois ensure your stay is pleasant, and they acted swiftly when the microwave stopped working, a new one arrived the next day. Comfortable beds, the bunk beds have a double at the bottom, and plenty of headspace, so great for adults, and bedding and furnishings are of great quality. Plenty of kitchen utensils, etc. Powerful shower, with ...

Comfortable beds, the bunk beds have a double at the bottom, and plenty of headspace, so great for adults, and bedding and furnishings are of great quality. Plenty of kitchen utensils, etc. Powerful shower, with loads of hot water. Easy to use controls for the heating, which heats up the apartment quickly. Great night lights in the corridor. Sea Front Apartment is in a great location and has its own parking space. A lovely place to stay, and we will be back. Thanks Fantastic view out to sea from the large bay window.

“The flat was in a great position with sea view and near to amenities.”

It was well equipped and very clean.There were plenty of little notices about use of equipment and waste disposal etc but we found operating the TV a challenge. The main disadvantage we found was there was no space to eat in the kitchen which meant having to carry food down two corridors to the dining table in the lounge. We didn’t find the bed or the settees especially comfortable. Overall we did enjoy our holiday in Hornsea and exploring the Yorkshire coast.

Thank you also for mentioning the TV. We’ll see if we can make the instructions a little clearer for future guests! We chose to have the dining table in the lounge so that guests can enjoy the light, airy room and the lovely views towards the seafront while having meals. We do appreciate that some guests may prefer to eat in the kitchen, although unfortunately the layout of the flat doesn’t allow for this. We’re sorry the bed and sofas weren’t quite to your personal preference. We haven’t generally had concerns raised about their comfort, but we appreciate that everyone has different preferences. “Lovely view of the sea from the lounge.”

Grandkids enjoyed sitting on the window seat.Every thing provided that you need to enjoy your stay. Nice quiet area. We made good use of the Floral Hall cafe which is opposite the apartment.

“We had a fantastic few days at Sea Front Apartment.”

Very helpful and friendly host Lois, with quick communication. Initially we were a bit worried we wouldn't get our car on the drive after reading some of the reviews but we had no problem at all. The apartment was very comfortable and extremely well equipped with lovely sea views. Really good location for walks along the beach which had a couple of shops, food outlets, 2 amusement arcades and fish and chip shops. Also only a short walk into town. Within easy travel distance of Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough. Would highly recommend.

“Overall a comfortable and warm week.”

A nice touch with a welcome pack. Excellent communication from the owners. Unfortunately the shower broke on our first day. Sykes cottages very quickly responded and the outcome was a new shower being fitted the next morning. Well equipped apartment with thoughtful extras e.g. torches on charge. We couldn't find a bread knife though. Lack of fridge door shelf made it impossible to stand larger containers up in the fridge. Very comfortable mattress on double bed. The mattress on the lower bunk bed was extremely soft. The enclosed front garden was great for our dog. The main entrance to both apartments could definitely do with some attention as could the front door. It was our first visit to Hornsea and we found the people to be very friendly. Cafes and most shops are very dog friendly. Lovely beach and the view from the lounge window is fantastic.

We pride ourselves on solving any issues ASAP, as we did with the shower for you.We have just had the back of the property painted and are having the front painted next year when the weather is sunnier and warmer again. Being by the sea front, the weather and salt from the sea means the front of the property always gets a battering from the elements. I have just been to see if the bread knife has disappeared but I have found it in the utensil pot in the kitchen as it is a bit big for the drawer. Having hunted everywhere for fridge door shelves that fit and been unsuccessful - a new fridge freezer is being delivered tomorrow. Hornsea is a really friendly place and I hope you'll be back to stay again soon. Property Owner

“My second visit within the month, love this place, comfortable, homely, warm and inviting.”

Owners very friendly, Lois makes contact to make sure you are settled and takes on board anything you mention that is missing. To make it perfect for a larger number of adults, a bed settee in the lounge would take away the need to have to use the top bunk, but is fine for younger people. A fridge with all the door shelves as there is little space for food and drinks in the body of the fridge, these things would just make it perfect for our use and would not stop us booking again. Hornsea is beautiful, has everything, and this flat has the perfect position . Thanks for letting us stay again.

I've been hunting high and low for fridge door shelves with various companies (who knew they are all different sizes!) and I have finally got Russell Hobbs to send me a part code as the fridge isn't made anymore. If I can't get a new one then it looks like I will have to purchase a new fridge/freezer. Thanks for the suggestion in terms of the sofa bed idea too. “We had a great week and the weather was the best.”

The flat is lovely ,clean and comfortable and has everything you need and extras, like chargeable torches. The only down sides we found were ,the oven only has 1shelf which if you are cooking can be a problem, and the fridge door storage only has 1shelf which is flimsy and won't hold the milk bottles or anything of use as it falls out when the door is opened. Minor things really but things you notice. Thank you for letting us stay and we will be back when staying at hornsea, one of our fav places.

“This was our second stay in this lovely spacious apartment that has everything you need for a holiday.”

It is ideally situated on a quiet street 5 minutes walk from the beach and a short walk to the town centre. The Floral Hall with a lovely cafe is across the road and it is less than 5 minutes from a pub that does food.

Beautiful view from the large front window, so calming to watch the sea. Apartment was very comfortable & the lovely owner Lois was very helpful , nothing too much trouble if we needed anything (which we didnt) as everything we needed was there but she was quick to email & offer. “We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Hornsea.”

Our Sea Front apartment really made our stay. The apartment was very spotless,spacious and so comfortable. The facilities were excellent. The layout of the small bedroom was very cleverly planned. There was a a triple bunk which made very good use of the space. While there was no wardrobe a very good size hanging rail was tucked in neatly behind the door. My Mum-in-Law told us she was very comfy in there. In one word, brilliant! Will certainly stay again and as we are not that far away could nip there for a weekend! Thank you Lois.

“We stayed here recently for a family holiday and it is perfect for a family of four.”

The apartment is a great size and has all the amenities you need. It is was very clean and tidy and a perfect base for exploring the local area. The beach is literally just a minutes walk away and the high street and town a short ten minute walk, and not far from restaurants, cafes and shops. There are many places to go to within just a short 30 minute drive, but we spent a lot of time on the blue flag beach, which our son loved. We spent the best half a day at Honeysuckle farm which is brilliantly geared up for young children and there were plenty of animals to see and things to do, and if you enjoy walking then heading to Flamborough and hiking from there along the coastal path is beautiful. The apartment was ideally located for everything and we would definitely return.

“This is a comfy, clean, well furnished and perfectly located holiday flat.”

It was home from home, immaculate and a stones throw from the beach and close enough to the town centre. Our second stay. The weather was wet windy and cold. But the apartment was really cosy and the sea view is beautiful. We had a problem with no hot water and within minutes of me ringing Jane came around and sorted it. Thank you Lois for the treats you left for us and our little dog. “Great location and a lovely clean and well maintained property.”

Good amenities close by as described in the property information. Only slight negative is that the mattress on the top bunk needs replacing as the first night my daughter could feel the springs. I put a couple of spare blankets under the sheet and then it was ok.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay View.”

The apartment is exceptionally well located, with just a couple of minutes to the seafront and the dog-friendly section of the beach. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped; so much so in fact that there wasn't much room for food storage as the space was limited, but that wasn't a problem at all, as there are a few grocery shops nearby to stock up every couple of days. The owner took great care to make us feel welcome and to ensure we were happy, and had even left a couple of welcome gifts for us and the dog. We would have liked to stay longer.

“I must say that Bay View in the flesh is more beautiful than the pictures show!”

We have absolutely treasured our stay and would like to thank Lois personally for opening such a fantastic accomodation for us and others to stay at. It has felt like a home from home and a massive thank you also for the treats left for us on our arrival. Our dog hugely appreciated the treats that were left for her. This accommodation is by far the best I have stayed at in Hornsea. It is top quality and kept exceptionally clean, well presented and brilliantly furnished. Lovely information book for home and surrounding area. Good signs for the waste bins ( I am an avid recycler). Comfy beds and as the area is so peaceful we slept well! “Lovely property situated on the road behind the promenade.”

A Victorian property with a lovely bay window with a view of the sea and the Floral Hall (handy for easy breakfasts and tasty lunches). It has a large living room with comfy leather sofas. The main bedroom is very large and the only criticism for us was the bed is only a double which is a shame as there’s loads of room for a king sized but that’s just our preference. There’s another smaller bedroom with bunk beds, the bottom one being a double. The kitchen is lovely and has everything you might need for your stay. The bathroom has a shower and everything was very clean. We can highly recommend this property, we loved being so close to the beach, and hope we can return soon.

From the moment it was booked, communication from the owner was excellent. Lois made sure everything was well explained and lots of details about the area were also given before we had even arrived. Upon arrival, we were not disappointed at all. The property was clean, beautifully presented and very welcoming. There was even some welcome treats for us and our dog in the kitchen too. We couldn't wish for better accommodation during our stay there. It was well-equipped, extremely comfortable and the sea view was perfect. “Another lovely stay at Bay View.”

Everything very clean and tidy on arrival. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, fridge/freezer and all the essentials, very quick boil kettle - welcome pack was much appreciated. Towels and bedding also provided. Excellent location close to the sea and just across from the Floral Hall, we had no issues with parking, as I was aware of leaving enough space for the tenant in the top apartment. The apartment is much bigger than it first appears, plenty of room for us. Lois, the owner, kept in touch, and topped up the gas, when needed, ensuring we could keep ourselves warm and toasty on the cold days. Looking forward to visiting again in the not too distant future.

“Lovely warm and inviting place, perfect for a short break at anytime of the year.”

Generous welcome pack which was really welcome, including treats for our pooch. Lois was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with, all info regarding facilities/key collection etc emailed across a few days before we arrived. Would highly recommend that you change the bulbs over to LED, it certainly would provide you with a considerable saving on the electric meter! Just one concern which a previous reviewer has already stated, there was a profound smell of cat pee in the shared foyer (not at all once you're in the property), this was most definitely due to a bag of used cat litter being kept in the foyer from the owner of the flat upstairs for the entire length of our stay, you may want to have a word with said upstairs owner about this, it didn't stop us enjoying our stay but it will for sure be noted by others! Many thanks once again Lois for an incredible time at Bay View and we will be returning in the not too distant future.

I am so glad you had a lovely stay and thanks for the tip about the LED lights. It is great to see you've booked again too :-) I have cleaned everything in the shared foyer (and replaced the floor, new lino/vinyl, my doormats) so many times trying to work out what it was causing the smell and to get rid of it once and for all. That bag has salt it in for the path for over the winter for when it gets icy so it's not cat litter in there. I think I have finally worked the smell out to be the doormat of the other flat which they say holds sentimental value to them and they don't want to dispose of it. However, they have said they are going to give it a good clean - so fingers crossed that sorts it out once and for all! Property Owner

It was obvious some places were either missed or had a quick flick over to clean, the front door looks like the original although quaint could do with replacing and the foyer smelled of cats, the parking was OK but got told of once by the property owner ,who lives upstairs, parking to far from the near side wall and she struggled to get out of the 2car parking bay,with a larger car you would struggle in the space provided, otherwise it was a break away

The flat was in a great spot, a minute from the front with a view of the sea and parking on the door step. Hornsea is a pretty little seaside town with a long sandy beach, a bustling main street and cute little museum. The flat was clean and spacious, bigger than it looks on the pics. Well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer, as well as airers, iron and board etc. Comfy beds and sofas. Welcoming treats (and milk!) were also a bonus! Would definitely stay again.

The apartment is on one level on the ground floor with a property above. You are a short walk to the beach and the Floral Hall. This is ideal.A bus service close by and amenities. “Excellent location, with the bonus of a parking space for one car.”

On street parking was available close by, the Floral Hall has 3 hours free parking, just across the road, and there are other car parks close by, one of which is free. The apartment had everything we needed for a great stay. It was very fresh smelling when we arrived, beds were made and towels ready to use. Easy access to the seafront, and walk into town, with a variety of ways to get back, through parks, on the road, or by the sea. Numerous shops, cafes, restaurants and take-aways, within the town. The Seafront Chippy offers a pensioner's fish and chips for £4 and is only a couple of minutes away. The Floral Hall does a fantastic bacon sandwich, and mugs of hot chocolate were really good. The owner kept in touch to ensure we had enough credit on the gas and electric. Smart TV was great, Now TV was available, not that we used it, and there were radios dotted around. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of pots and pans etc., oven worked well, and there was a fridge/freezer. A nice welcome pack was a lovely gesture, and much appreciated. We had a lovely week in the Sea Front Apartment and hope to be back again.
